TheFlyingGerbil
I downloaded the beta and after it crashed and wouldn't reload past the crash report screen I decided to go with 11.

TheMightyEthan
It's so weird that Google Chrome isn't available on [Google] Android.

Luftwaffles
Errrmm... You've got to have ICS, though, which I feel like most people don't.
deanb
5% of devices at the moment. Point is, Chrome is on Android.
Faiblesse Des Sens
More people have ICS than they have pre-2.0 versions of Android. Though you actually need ICS and and ARMv7 processor. I'm on ARMv6 so I can't use it. Though I don't even think there are any official ARMv6 ICS phones. Just unofficial.
deanb
http://axis.yahoo.com/ So Yahoo have a new browser out. Called "Axis". Anyone up for giving it a shot? Their video crashed the tab, so I've no idea what it does different to be too bothered.
TheMightyEthan
Why in the world would you name your browser "Axis"? Next they're going to make a mail client named "Fuhrer". *Edit* - Even the branding looks evil. Faiblesse Des Sens
^Lol. Anyways, apparently its big thing is how you can send shit to your phone easily like Instapaper and whatnot.
Luftwaffles
Axis redefines what it means to search and browse the Web God, I haven't heard that since Bing.
TheFlyingGerbil
What do people think of the speculation about Facebook buying Opera?
Johnny
If this was before Opera turned it's interface into a giant unusable clusterfuck, I'd have said I didn't like the idea. Now I don't care. Facebook can have what's left of it.
TheFlyingGerbil
yeah, I'm using it at the moment and while it has some cool stuff it just feels really dated in its design and freezes and even crashes ALL THE TIME. I don't think I can stand it too much longer. I doubt Facebook would make it any better - I find that website really unintuitive and over-complicated to use. TheMightyEthan
I use Opera Mini on my phone, and I like that a lot. I've never really liked the desktop version though.
Faiblesse Des Sens
When Opera works it's lovely. It feels really smooth compared to the other browsers. But yeah, it just crashes too often. Last time I tried it for a while (I still have it as a secondary browser) it would freeze trying to play embedded youtube videos on here. deanb
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18440979 An Australian retailer has introduced a "IE7 tax" of 6.8% to purchases made through IE as it costs them more to develop the site to work with Internet Explorer. Logic is pretty sound I guess, though feels more like PR stunt.

Code_Yuki
Using chrome right now but not sure about it now hate some of the changes and probably never will appreciate it. Google's been doing some incredibly dumb decisions. Not just chrome but their search engine. Trying to shove Instant down our throats. Don't like it. I can switch back on my desktop but for my new laptop, can't. Worse is it's actually decreased my efficiency by half.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Worse is it's actually decreased my efficiency by half. How so? Why not switch browsers? There's no shortage of alternatives even if you stick with Webkit/Chromium

There's no shortage of alternatives even if you stick with Webkit/Chromium Well basically, I type search faster than what Google instant does.I'm usually precise when searching for things I want which is why I can quickly type it and press I'm feeling lucky or just normal search knowing that I'm going to get my results. Google instant and the predictive search list makes it much more slow of an experience. Sure it's 1-2 seconds slow but I hate it If something can be done faster and get the same results, I'll take it. Google Instant etc still hasn't lived up to my expectations yet. I'm thinking of actually switching back to either Opera or Firefox right now. Downloading it now and testing them both out.
