Kau_Kau
I just wanted to make a topic for the Saturn. I think it had the most memorable experiences for me due to the games that were released for it. My favorites off the top of my head include: Panzer Dragoon saga Dragon force 1&2 Shining the holy ark Burning Rangers (yeah not many cared for it.) Magic Knight Rayearth Dark Savior Virtua cop with the gun was great too. And I kinda loved UMA racing on Daytona. Most disappointing game to me was Shining force 3 especially because I was unable to get the other two chapters.
MottZilla
I haven't really played too many Saturn exclusive games. A lot of what I've played are top notch arcade ports like Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter and Street Fighter Zero 3. I do want to give Panzer Dragoon a try as well as other titles. Sometime I'd like to actually play through Nights, I've only played the first few levels. It's a real shame the Sega Saturn was abandon everywhere but Japan. There were some great titles released in Japan after NA and Europe gave it the axe.

Yantelope
I still want a saturn for my collection. I had a friend who got it when it was brand new and we stayed up all night at a party playing virtua fighter. It was freaking awesome. Also, Saturn was the only system to have a truly great port of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter but you needed the RAM cart for it.
getlefty
I loved the cd player on the saturn. I'd put in Soundgarden and play "Black Hole Sun" on repeat, just watching the ship fly around for hours on end. I bought that system with my own money when I was... I can't even remember, but I bought it from the Wal*Mart in Fond du Lac before it was a Super and I bought it with Virtua Fighter 2... that game was so fun. The Madden game I got for it was probably also my favorite Madden of all time as well, with it's FMV half time and pregame reports with the old Fox Sports crew. I played the demo disc until it stopped working, doing the home run derby on whatever baseball game was on there with my brothers for hours on end. Toshi
I loved Nights into the Dream so much as a kid. Fighters Megamix was... interesting. I remember fighting as a Daytona car.
Kau_Kau
I loved the cd player on the saturn. I'd put in Soundgarden and play "Black Hole Sun" on repeat, just watching the ship fly around for hours on end. The cd player on the saturn introduced me to the capabilities of pitch changing. I loved the spaceship visualization as well except I only wished that you could move the ship a little.
Kau_Kau
I can't believe that I forgot Guardian heroes and astal for my favorite games list. For those not familiar with Guardian Heroes it was like a better version of castle crashers made by treasure. Not saying that CC was bad, but GH allowed for multiple playthroughs because of the different paths and endings you could take. It also had character leveling and every character had their own personality. Also I think up to six people could play at once, though I never had the opportunity. Yantelope
I remember when Fighters Megamix was the fighting game. It was kinda like what MVC3 is trying to be now.
R__
I love the Saturn. I had a lot of fun with Panzer Dragoon Saga, Panzer Dragoon 1 and 2, and of course Shining Force 3. I haven't gotten around to playing through Scenario 2 and 3 since they were fan-translated, but maybe one day. Problem is, my Saturn's battery died and I lost my savegame for Scenario 1, and I want to keep all the bonuses and shit that I got from that one in the other 2 scenarios. Radiant Silvergun was also pretty good. I read somewhere that one of Sega's US executives frowned upon 2D games and RPGs, because he believed they wouldn't sell. Maybe if that asshole hadn't interfered, the Saturn would have been a bigger success. If Final Fantasy 7 had come to Saturn instead of PSX, who knows what would have happened. Maybe Sega would still be alive and Sony never would have gotten started in the gaming industry. I still say FF7 was the tipping point in that generation. excel_excel
Wasn't Tomb Raider a Saturn exclusive before Sony flashed their wallet?
Faiblesse Des Sens
I remember when Fighters Megamix was the fighting game. It was kinda like what MVC3 is trying to be now. Yep! I rarely hear this game brought up anymore. I used to love it. What were the first person RPGs on Saturn? There's always one where the name slips my mind. Don't know if there were more though.

Also, Saturn was the only system to have a truly great port of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter but you needed the RAM cart for it. You say that like it's a bad thing. The RAM Cart for the Saturn was absolutely awesome. I still think Sony fucked up big time by never providing developers and gamers with a memory expansion for PS1. But then again Sony was pretty shitty on 2D games in the North American region.
Nipah
Also, Saturn was the only system to have a truly great port of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter but you needed the RAM cart for it. That was the reason I purchased a Saturn back in the day... I walked into EB, grabbed a Saturn, Xmen Vs Street Fighter (which came with the RAM cart thankfully), some DBZ game, Bomberman, a converter cart, and two joystick controllers. In the end, the controllers were crap (and the default game pad was fucking fantastic), the DBZ games was moderately entertaining, Xmen vs Street Fighter was glorious, Bomberman was the amazing, and it took me a good year to finally get the converter cart to work without quickly swapping out the RAM cart for Xmen vs Street Fighter (turns out I was just too stupid to get it to work properly...) ... I'd plug the little baby back in for some awesome good times, but I already have Xmen vs Street Fighter on my PC, along with a rather good Chun Li wired controller... plus, the TV is like, way over there. MasterDex
along with a rather good Chun Li wired controller One of the SFIV ones? I got an Akuma one, didn't like it one bit. It's gathering dust in a drawer now. I never had the pleasure of owning a Saturn myself. Had a loan of one for a week once with Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Fighter and Nights but that's about as far as my Saturn gaming goes. They were just so expensive for the time compared to everything else.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I liked my fightpad when I had it. That was back before you could get a stick for super cheap.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Also, this is relevant cuz that shit's basically a saturn controller.

I got one for about $20 when I purchased the game off of Amazon (also for $20), and I really only use it now for my PC emulation. The d-pad is so much better than the standard XBox one, its not even a fair comparison. Also, this is relevant cuz that shit's basically a saturn controller. That's exactly why I like it so much... Other than a slightly different button layout (or maybe not, I'll have to open my Saturn box and check them side-by-side), they're practically identical.
