topekaguy
Molyneux did the impossible. He took Fable and made it even worse. Fable 3 isnt good.
Pirandello
Molyneux did the impossible. He took Fable and made it even worse. Fable 3 isnt good. I hear guns and spells are literally overpowered in Fable 3, and that melee is a joke as every enemy just simply blocks you into oblivion. Oh, and I hear the "Sanctuary" was pretty annoying as well. TheMightyEthan
Oh god yes. Molyneux/Lionhead, I respect that you were trying to get people who don't usually use menus to see the various functions of your game. That's fine. Do that. Just don't TAKE AWAY THE MENU FROM THOSE WHO WANT IT! I fucking hated the Sanctuary so much, it made the simplest things a giant hassle. Also, the "choices" in governing your realm were a joke, but I thought the combat was more or less the same as Fable 2. Overall though it was definitely a step backward. It was kinda like Spore, actually, in that it had some cool ideas that just weren't implemented very well at all.
Hocking
I hate the emote system in Fable 3.
TheFlyingGerbil
Anyone excited about the HD remake of Fable? I have it the original somewhere but never got around to playing it. Do you think it would seem archaic now I've played all the others?
TheMightyEthan
I think it would probably hold up fairly well. Assuming it's actually a 360 port I will probably get it. If it's for the Xbone then no fucking way.
TCP
Enjoyed Fable 2 and to a lesser extent 3, might pick this one up. Does Microsoft usually sell it's HD ports at a discount like Sony?
TheMightyEthan
Halo: Anniversary was $60 IIRC, but it (and also this Fable) are more than HD upscales, they completely redid all the models and textures and everything. The Sony one's I've seen are just the original game unchanged but rendered at HD resolutions.
TCP
Fair enough!
Hot Heart
Anyone excited about the HD remake of Fable? I have it the original somewhere but never got around to playing it. Do you think it would seem archaic now I've played all the others? I could be wrong, but I think they simplified a lot of the already basic systems after Fable 1. They added a bunch of new stuff in, but I know the blue/yellow/red experience for melee/ranged/magic attack stuff was new in 2. Unlike later games, I seem to recall that certain fights could even present a challenge. I'd have to replay it again, but I remember my experience with 1 being generally more positive than the later ones, overall. I definitely wouldn't say it's aged badly against the other Fable games, at least. Take that as you will...
madbassman39
Enjoyed Fable 2 and to a lesser extent 3, might pick this one up. Same. I am more than interested in purchasing an HD remake. I've been half tempted to buy on Steam anyways.
