Where my ladies at? Usually my thunderous and odiferous farts suffice to bring them a-runnin'. At least, Fable taught me so.

Fable 3 doesn't do that this time around. Your weapon changes instead of you. Which I think is nice cos tbh it was pretty horrible if you were a Strength user.

I'm in Aurora, just met the crawler/darkness stuff which was very awesome. I'm purposefully taking my time so I can increase my wealth from rent n such. Don't want to mess up the end.

I dislike the limit to the magic. I liked mixing things up on the fly in 2. Though I guess I am liking the devastating AoE power of Flame+Ice gloves.

More thoughts as I get to the end.

I wish they'd release the frickin PC version already.

My friend who is the huge Fable fan (he played the first one maybe fifteen, twenty times since it's been released - not kidding) and also rather liked Fable II (unlike me, but that's due to a game killing glitch, mostly), rented Fable III from Gamefly, raved about it to me, then returned it in disgust after a little way in without finishing it - I guess he hated how simplified it was, and complained that without earning XP, killing random enemies was more irritating than anything else and that at the end of the day, you can only run around in a chicken suit for so long before you get bored.

I don't know - I'm still ready to give it a proper chance...

If it ever hits the freaking PC, that is.

How about I just give you seven million gold?

Wouldn't that require XBL?

Also it'd kinda be cheating and take a fair bit out of the game.

On recommendation of my housemate I'll probably be playing Fable 3 offline for the remainder anyway. It's a good way to stop being advertised DLC every time you pause the game.

Which I'm amazed since Dragon Age got a bit of stick for the DLC dude in the camp I'm amazed there has been so little complaint for Fable 3 doing nearly all the time you pause. It's just laughable they'd do that.

I am kinda glad I never paid for this game.

This is part of what makes me hesitant to pick it up. I've been trained to expect some kind of reward when I kill enemies in RPGs. Without that system in place, I imagine it'd get really annoying to hack through mobs over and over.

Every time you pause? What in the world? That's...not true.

Sorry, that dang hyperbole again.Okay 90% of the time I pause. Once you've done the starting stuff Jasper will no longer tell you of new rooms, leaving just new item purchases n gifts to break up the rest. As I pause more often than I buy things it does mean most of it's the DLC 'buy things in the Sanctuary store!' line rattles off.

so I started playing Fable 3 the other day and I'm at the part early on where you have to get the mercenary disguise. I have everything for it but when I go to the Sanctuary I keep being told to put the tattoo while there's no tattoo showing up, only the beard. and it won't let me leave once I'm in there. I tried restarting but it's just the same thing over again. is there something wrong with my game?

FUCK. I thought I had to press LB/RB/LT/RT when I had the beard mannequin selected not while just standing there.

also aren't I supposed to be able to view the quest list at the map table by pressing Y? because it's not giving me the option. or I do have to progress a little more before that'll show up?

I tried to like Fable 3 - really I did. I think that the whole "Sanctuary pause menu thingy" is one of the most inventive menus ever. But, the game just sucks. When the developers don't take their game seriously, why am I supposed to? I mean, it's one thing to give the player the option to dress up like a woman, or a chicken, but it's another thing to force them to dress up like a chicken/woman. And the whole "conversation" system is just so inherently stupid. Farting is not talking. Dancing, is not talking. Talking is talking.

Plus...

...the game says you have a year to make the town safe from attack, but that really translates to about one hour. I don't want a real-world year's worth of time, but at least give me some type of indication of when it's going to happen. Going in increments of 10-20 days at a time is fine, but then when it goes from 121 days to 1 day, I get a little frustrated. I assumed I had more time than that, and you aren't warned at all. Screw that noise.

Also, lolcombatsucks

I'm waiting for the GOTY edition to come out before I buy it since I didn't love Fable II and only liked it. Actually thinking about it it was one of my biggest gaming disappointments as I really wanted it to be a Zelda fix for the xbox to justify my purchase of the console.
