Paradox Grand Strategy Games

I recently started in on Victoria II and rekindled my love for these beautifully complex and deep strategy games. In what other games can you decide to play as a kingdom you've never heard of and eventually bring the Great Powers of the world to their knees?

I play Crusader Kings, Victoria, and HOI2 Armageddon. I once did a game as the Inca in EU2 but thats about it. I colonized California.

I never played Victoria or HOI2. I started with EU3; I'm sort of a n00b when it comes to Paradox games. I made up for it by buying the most current versions of their grand strategy games. I like Vicky 2 the best, though that might just be because it's the newest to me. I like clawing my way up from being a minor state to being a Great Power. I also like the tech spread in Vicky 2 the best.

 

On the other hand, I like the complex army system in HOI3 for reasons I cannot fully explain. It's like org charts moving around on maps hypnotize me or something.

Ive never really finished a grand campaign. The occasional bug certainly doesnt help matters. What are some memorable things from your campaigns?

 

In Crusader Kings I usually end up controlling most of Europe but then the king dies and it all comes crashing down. Once I played as Castile and drove the Moors out of Spain and then ended up with most of France. The Badboy scores affect on my reputation was a pain though.

 

Im looking forward to Crusader Kings 2. And I will have to get HOI3 and Victoria 2 some time. Its good that they are on steam. It makes it convenient.

I've never actually played any of these games before, but I bought Europa Universalis III on a Steam sale, so maybe I should bump that to the top of my list.

Now I have a game going as the Ottoman Empire. I lost most of my army attacking Egypt but I got the land that is rightfully mine. And now Im working on taking the rest of Arabia.

Paradox are having a sale on Steam. I cannot afford to buy the complete pack. I have EU3. Which HoI game and which Victoria game should I buy?

Crusader Kings 2, bitchfaces. It rocks my socks. 

 

Currently working my way up from being a count in the Holy Roman Empire, to a Duke, and now King of Bavaria. Next is to be Emperor.
