Chewblaha
I'm about halfway through the Diabolical Box and it's getting fucking crikey-ly hard.
AcidCrownie
I've always wondered something... What kind of game is this? Similar to Phoenix Wright? PS: Is the title a reference to something, or did you enter major typo land?
Chewblaha
It's an old Penny-Arcade comic. When they were good, you know? This game is merely just puzzles puzzles puzzles with a great game. Phoenix Wright is more about individual case stories and quirky humor. The cases are, most of the time in Wright, easy to figure out. Here in Layton it's sorta the same, but has some great stories to go with it. Pretty much you literally advance every part of the story by completing some puzzle. Great, great games. You should pick them up. Curious Village is fun. So far the Diabolical Box is as well with a good story, and I've heard nothing but good about the Unwound Future.

AcidCrownie
I'm going to venture a guess and say this is a DS series? Pity, since I don't own a DS. I do have a Wii, though. So maybe there's hope?
Chewblaha
Get a DS.
AcidCrownie
Get a DS. Well balls. Looks like I won't be playing Layton any time soon.
STiger
Get a DS. Well balls. Looks like I won't be playing Layton any time soon. Get a 3DS. Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright game.
Chronixal
I wanted to like Layton but for one, I'm shit at most puzzles and secondly I found the integration of puzzles with plot to be non-existent. It wasn't like Hotel Dusk where the puzzles were set up to progress the plot by being relevant. They were just there for the sake of it. You could get a similar experience by reading a Sherlock Holmes book and stopping every 10 pages to do a brainteaser.
Chewblaha
Agreed. Some puzzles are totally irrelevant, yes. But the game is still incredibly fun. It may not flow well, but it's still fun.
toxicitizen
I really need to grab Diabolical Box Mysterious Village was the first game I bought for my DS and I freaking loved it. Not so big on the replay value, though Also LOL. I still like Penny-Arcade, but I must admit they haven't had a good one like that in a while That one's just perfect. rainetemplar
I only played the first, actually. I was so annoyed with one particular puzzle that I almost threw it out of the window. It was called 'Princess in a box' or something. In any case I'm certainly playing the Layton/Phoenix Wright crossover!

Battra92
I found the Diabolical Box to be somewhat simpler than Curious Village. Unwound Future got pretty balls to the wall tough at times. I completed all three at 100%, though.
Little Pirate
I'm hoping to get Diabolical Box for Christmas. I've screamed Layton lines at my boyfriend repeatedly to see if he could get the hint.

Knifington STRIKE
I've completed the first two games, but severely needed help with the first one. I thought the tea making mechanic in the second was just a gimmick at first, but then I raged when I found out I had to find all the correct combinations to complete the whole game. Little Pirate
It's like a puzzle within itself Just do every combo you can until you unlock it all. Talking to people will give you hints on what to ingredients to use, too.
