Enervation
It was my antivirus blocking it, lol. Regardless, I'm getting very terrible lag when I play. I blame my horrible connection, it has a penchant for lagging to crap and throttling pretty much everything.
Pirandello
I tried it yesterday, and I must say that it's actually very good. I played Champions Online for a large amount of time and tried CoH a bit, but I have to say that DCUO's combat and graphics are amazing. The game itself is huge, though. Was kind of a pain to download, but I think it was worth it. My character is a generic spec-ops commando dude with a rifle. Because I wanted a generic spec-ops commando dude with a rifle. Hot Heart
I am still stuck on that quest. Goddamn transmogromiphowotsit orbs! It was too laggy, and enemies kept spawning, so that it was too hard to grab one, or when you did it would just disintegrate in your hands (are enemies shooting them?) or maybe I didn't actually grab them... Everything was far too laggy to tell.
Johnny
Trying to quest villainside during peak hours is hilarious right now. I spent more time fighting off gangs of heroes running at me than I spent killing mobs. I had plenty of fun, but at the end of the day didn't gain much experience. Had quite a bit of fun, especially when fighting off 2-3 enemies at the same time, but only gained about half a level in two hours.
Hot Heart
Oh, while I think of it, I don't know much about 'builds' and I'm only level 7 but I'm quite happy with my ice/staff combo at the moment. I've got a 'snipe' ability which can root enemies to the spot, then one to draw enemies in and another that makes me quite lethal up close. Plus, the staff abilities I have feature some good stun moves or, if I'm just button-mashing, there is a decent combo. I'm not sure if there are 'wrong' builds (I'd heard handblasters are slow) but I was impressed with how I had slightly tailored mine. SixTwoSixFour
I'm on the US PvP Server myself, from time to time. Having lag issues like a lot of us, or I would play a good deal more. The weapon controls are pretty stupid, I feel, but the game is quite enjoyable. Doctor Ferrum (Blasters/Gadgets) If anyone makes a Tuskan Raider joke, they lose an eye. The Pact (Staff/Sorcery) If she looks kinda short in this picture, don't be fooled. She's not kinda short. She's QUITE short. Edited November 7, 2011 by SixTwoSixFour

Are they far too accurate for a Tusken Raider? Goodbye, eye!
Enervation
Had a lot of fun last night. Get back from work, proceed to jump into again. What do I get? 5000 person queues, and infinite loading screens. I've been trying unsuccessfully for about 3 hours now to no avail to get into the game. People keep telling me to "just wait" and let it run out. I'm pretty damn sure a game does not take an hour and a half to load. If SOE is going to keep this game in its current state, it's going to lose everyone it's trying to keep in, including the current subscribers (the current subscribers are not immune to these issues). At this point in time, even though it technically is (in my eyes) better than Champions Online, it still ranks lower than CO. It's a great game, but SOE is really dragging their knuckles on the server issues, and people are starting to get impatient, subs and free players alike. Pirandello
It seems that the F2P rush has stabilized itself. Granted, there are still login queues, but it's not as bad. On another note, does anyone else receive some pretty bad lag when inside an instance? It's so strange. My rifle dude is so awesome. He went from generic commando spec-ops guy into totally-badass sniper rifle-swinging mortar-firing police shock trooper. Now if only I can get the armor that the Metropolis Science Police are using, and am currently in the process of trying to collect the Contemporary Tech style set (I currently only have the helmet). I'll post up a screenshot of my character later.

On another note, does anyone else receive some pretty bad lag when inside an instance? It's so strange. Yeah, they applied some fixes and things are much better. The queues were something I could deal with, especially considering that I'm not a payed sub yet, but waiting in a queue for an hour only to encounter a LSoD was infuriating. I'm glad they took care of it quick, as not only was it annoying to see them waste their opportunity to make a positive impression on new users, but it also sucked to see how many paid subs felt like they were totally getting the shaft. Is the lag you're talking about one that keeps your special move animations frozen for a time? Not just the animations really, you (I) can't do anything while that animation is frozen, just try to back away from enemies until the game allows you to move again. If that's what you mean, then I'd say I experience it about 25% of the time I'm in. People have mentioned it on the forums and I know I've reported it via the game itself, so hopefully they'll take care of it quickly. It's pretty frustrating when that costs you a death at the hands of a boss.

It's pretty frustrating when that costs you a death at the hands of a boss. I have Gadgets and my Taser Pull always ends up freezing like that. Sometimes it clears up pretty quickly, other times I stand there in the animation for a good minute or a half before it wears off. Thankfully, the rifle never has a lack of means to bring down the hammer on the enemy. On another note, grappling hook + walls = BLOODY FREAKING AWESOME.
FredEffinChopin
Yeah, that's the one. The Taser Pull is by far the worst offender in my arsenal, but a couple of others whose names I can't remember are guilty as well. I'd imagine things of that variety are on the top of their to-do list when the dust settles from the f2p transition. Is the grappling hook a gadget/move, or are you referring to "acrobatic" transportation? I've only tried it once, as Robin in a PvP event. I haven't really flown yet (aside from the 5 minutes of time I put into the PC version before realizing that I need to hook up a gamepad before attempting that again), I'm still totally infatuated with super-speed. Leaping across two city blocks and landing directly in the precinct entry zone still makes me grin like an idiot.
Pirandello
It's an Acrobatic skill (I think). When you climb up a wall, holding down space bar will have you use a grappling hook that takes you up to the top of the building extremely quickly, and DAMN, is it useful. I also have Rocket Gliding in Acrobatics, which is also insanely useful.
FredEffinChopin
Damn, that sounds pretty awesome. I think I may have experienced the rocket gliding, sort of. There are a couple of races that for some odd reason have you racing as a gorilla. Actually, come to think of it I think they're the races that are multiplayer. Maybe to ensure a balance in abilities/attributes? Anyway, there is a move that the gorilla can pull that has him/her sort of handglide in a nearly-straight line. It was pretty slick, but like all the gorilla movments, slow as shit. I was thinking I might go with flying for my next char, but after hearing about the hook and the gliding I may go acrobatics instead. Enervation
As Pirandello said, the issues have pretty much settled down now. I am liking it a lot more, but the lag in instances is still a bit of a problem since it prevents some snares from working, but that's about it. I compensate for it by using Gauss grenades and Sticky Bombs, quite handy to subdue and stun enemies. I'm a gadget/staff user with Batman as my mentor. My secondary character is a dual pistols/magic healer combo, and I plan on starting him up sometime next week. Healers are in a huge demand, it seems, for bosses and whatnot. Pirandello
And now I have unlocked a military shotgun (looks like a SPAS-12) and a .50 caliber sniper rifle weapon style for my commando. My life is complete, because the shotgun is totally badass. Edited November 10, 2011 by Pirandello
Eleven
Anyone still playing it? Just started, level 9. Hero, PVPUS, Eclipseia. Because Eclipse was taken, as well as Eclipsia.
Johnny
I do not currently play. The technical issues (constant disconnects, unplayable lag, insane queue times) drove me out. Are those still happening? If not, I might go back in.
Eleven
I don't think so. It's pretty good now. I don't normally play MMOs, but I don't see any problems with lag. Never got disconnected too that isn't my fault. My own internet connection drops sometimes and that's all the lag and disconnects i've experienced, so not the game servers' fault. You can just see the message "waiting for login queue" for a split second before you it takes you in. So no issues in those too!
Enervation
It's like walking into an empty queue. You were in the queue, but only for a second!
Eleven
This is fun! I was just questing and these 3 villains showed up and beat on me. I was level 14 and they were around the same level as me. I ignored it and went back but they just beat on me again. So I asked around HQ if anybody wanted to join to get revenge. Just 1 did and we went back but the three were gone. There were other villains that we got to kill though, just not the three i was looking for. Anyway eventually I asked him to go villain hunting, and he said he knew where they were. So he brought me to the villain HQ and camped a few feet outside and killed some villains, around our level. I let the lower levels go if they aren't attacking me. Then I called out in Shout that we were there and who wants to join! Eventually some more people came aboard and we were killing villains in front of their door! Too bad the level 30 villains awoke. There were like 4 of them, and kick all our asses! Then my connection glitched out, and I'm now here posting at the forums...
Johnny
That's so typical of you Heroes players. Nearly every time I get attacked, it's by a group of three or more. We villains are supposed to be the bad guys here!
Eleven
Because we believe in friendship and teamwork? Villains, typically, think only of their own
