Yeah, the Moto X being too small wasn't a consideration for me. If anything I was worried it might be too large to comfortably stow away in jeans with smaller pockets and such. It's been a lot more comfortable than I've hoped for though.

Since screen size is an issue for you, you should also know that the buttons are shared with it... I'm sure there is a technical terms for the layout that I can't think of right now. I should also mention that the Moto X screen is not bigger, but smaller than a Nexus 5 even without taking that into account, at 4.7"

I did notice this if you do decide to go with a Moto and aren't planning on keeping your own phone. I imagine you don't want a smaller screen at this point though haha.

Edge will likely get slim support initially, but I imagine over time we'll see more phones taking advantage of the OLEDs ability to do wrap around screen. Look at the Gear, that's kinda niche and under developed but barely a year later and there's a ton of smartwatches on the market now (and even looking fairly likely Apple will have one tomorrow too).

Note 4 for the most part seems a more powerful Note 3, so it's a good choice in that regard. Depends what you want, I know a lot of folks balk at the size but my housemate with tiny hands quite likes her Note. LG have a similar phone out too.

btw if you have a decent sized PC screen this could be useful for you: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size Place your current phone up to calibrate then pick the phones you're looking at.

I'm loving my Moto X experience for what it's worth. Motorola Connect and the active display are the features that finally convinced me to buy this one over something more inexpensive (as well as the water submerging tests I saw on the Moto G, which has a similar coating on the inside), and they're the ones I appreciate most regularly.

Oh, and touchless control, which I use all the time.

The battleground seems to be screen size and OS. Atm I'm using a Nexus 5, which has a pretty good size display for what I want; both the Moto X and the Note 4 are bigger. Now I don't mind going larger, but seeing as they're both going to be bigger than ideal, I'm struggling to justify the Moto X; if I'm going to hobble myself with a larger display, I might as well go all the way and get the phone designed with that in mind. So the Note wins that one..

Then we have Motorola's cleaner version of Android versus the mess that is Touchwizz. I hear TW is much improved, but it's still a fairly awful skin-job. Motorola takes that one.

Design wise? I honestly don't know. I'd take the Moto X in a heartbeat but I absolutely hate that new logo they've got going on, far too obvious; especially when compared to the previous model which had a much more subtle logo design.

Is the new Moto X physically bigger? That matters far more than raw screen-size.

Personally I want something smaller and more one-handable than my N5.

I know technically they're android devices, but without access to the play store it's hard to call them that. I guess while they were trying to push their hardware it made sense to keep their services off play store, but now they're pushing their services, particularly Instant Video it makes sense to make it available to as many people as possible. They'll want the big subscriber numbers to entice show exclusivity deals and justify cost of developing their own shows.

Oh so is it more that it specifically comes to the Play store then? I don't have a Kindle tablet cos thier apps were enough to turn me off an entire OS made by them so not to know if they have certain apps already on their devices not on others. Heh, if it's anything like the rest of thier stuff the Play store version will get the updates more frequently than the Kindle version :P

It's not coming to the Play store, is being integrated with the Amazon so that was already available for Android devices. But yeah, previously you could stream Amazon Instant Video on your Kindle Fire, but not on generic Android devices.

I hadn't realized there was a new Moto X. I thought there was just that +1 or whatever. Yeah, this thing is definitely larger.

I guess this is what I get with a refurb'd Note 2 (After I broke my last one with a drop) or maybe the fabled 2 year lifespan on phones is real. My Note 2 in the last month has been acting funny. The screen will every so often become unresponsive and the phone in general is VERY slow or have glitches. For example, if it is responsive, I can type but it won't show up on my screen (though it does show up as inputted judging by the word predictor).

I'm so waiting for the Note 4 to drop now because fuck this shit.
