I never put sugar in my coffee, even the epic Turkish stuff. My grandad's a Turk (along with half that side of the family) and he thinks I'm mad. I just love that bitter, take your face off taste. Drunk with some really dark chocolate to accompany it and it's perfect.

I'm probably gonna be looked down by the coffee connoisseurs/overlords here...but a Dunkin Donuts just opened down the road from my house. Hell yeah!

Love their Pumpkin and Red Velvet Lattes. YUMMO

And donuts too. Cuz I'm moderately fat. I like to walk that fine line between overweight and obese.

It's not the cafe choice. It's the fact that you're buying these sorts of drinks.

Anyways, I've been loving my Aeropress. It's not as easy as coffee grounds in a drip coffee maker but it makes way way better coffee and you only need to make one cup at a time instead of letting it sit in the pot. You can actually make more than one cup with it but I haven't tried it yet as I'm not sure what sort of container I would use. Maybe I should buy one of those sealable travel mugs.

So, I am moving up on the snobbery. I roast my own coffee now. My friend taught me how to do it on the stove, which is more or less what they do in Panama. It is just on a smaller scale. I can't get a as even roast as my friend can but I like it that way. You can get characteristics from two or more roast levels at once. If I recall correctly, first crack and you're in the light and with the second crack you'll be in the dark roast. I like it more towards the light to medium.

And I have reign in my daily coffee consumption. At the very least I spread it much more out. Also I started to go with straight black coffee. With no sugar, I actually can last much better. No crashes.

if you want to get an even roast you can use a hot air popcorn maker. You're less likely to burn the beans in it and it blows the chaff out as well as it's roasting.

Here's a link on about it.

Yeah, that is what my friend said is one of the better way to go and it does get rid of the chaff. Stove top method requires the beans to be tossed and the chaff blow out. If not, that shit gonna burn. Coffee ruined.
