excel_excel
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1354490/Boy-11-racks-1-000-mothers-debit-card-playing-XBox-online.html?ito=feeds-newsxml When I heard the story, I knew, I KNEW that the daily mail would run a picture of the mother and son with a stupid 'abused' look on their faces, and I wasn't disappointed! My favourtie part though is this "When I showed him he burst into tears. He unplugged the Xbox and said he didn't want it anymore.I haven't punished him because he feels bad enough and I know he won't do it again." Damn that kid is smooth! If that was my parents I would have literally been crying, mainly because I would have been killed in two seconds. You can tell this is the kind of mother who buys COD for her son and then complains about the voilence. Look at that gormless look on the kids face. He knows he got away with it, yet he's trying that 'ooooh I didn't know what I was doing, imma wittle innocent child!!' Classic
Strangelove
She claims that he didnt know the value of money because hes eleven. That he didnt know it cost money to buy all that stuff... King Jimmeh
While they sit there with their HDTV and Sky box and 360 Elite. Fool on her. The systems are there to keep things like this in check. She should've checked up on it before letting her kid play. I have heard it is an arse to remove credit cards from the system, so MS need to make that easier, but I have no sympathy for the family. Even if they use the excuse of "it costs points, not pounds", you still have to buy the points which is explicitly stated with a price. Yantelope
This whole story is a giant lol. First, they're playing their tiny violin at the beginning with the single mom who's being abused by evil Bill gates. Then you've got the fact that he probably racked up the bill over a long period of time. Mom never checked her bank account and noticed that her monies were disappearing? It was a debit card to so the money was coming out of a checking account. Mom doesn't have much money but she doesn't notice that £1000 is missing? Also, the kid is 11. If he doesn't know about money it's because he has a learning disability or because his mother is a crap parent. I knew the value of money at 5 and had to save it all up to buy my games. The other indication that you've got a crap parent on the loose is the fact that she runs to the newspapers to sing her sad song. Also, it's super easy to remove your card. I just went to xbox.com and deleted it from my account. Edited February 8, 2011 by Yantelope
Battra92
I see the kid gets his moobs from his mother's side of the family. Too bad they can't afford to give the kid a haircut.
Yantelope
Also, everything on XBL is points based. How did the kid buy all the points and then spend points and then buy more points not realizing it cost money?

Many brits wouldn't even wipe their arse with it. Also lol at folks who still reference Bill Gates in regards to Microsoft. Dudes off curing cancer, hasn't worked as head honcho of MS for years. Of course it helps with the evil rich man of mega corporation versus single mum. What has this world come to when a single mum is charged money by a company? Have they no humanity? Also lol at MS making it too easy. MS didn't give the kid the CC details. Also I think I'll see if that "Gaming Mode" thing works, like next time someone asks why I've not paid attention to the oven it's cos I'm in Gamin Mode and you can't expect me to be thinking about the oven too. You can't pout that responsibly on me. Also, it's super easy to remove your card. I just went to xbox.com and deleted it from my account. Never assume that what you can do on the US xbox.com is anything that the rest of the world can do. You know that consulted image of how many hoops you have to click through to cancel your account? We can't even do that. edit: Though she does mention using the site to remove CC details. So maybe that's one thing you can do. Still. tl;dr: Excel don't link Daily Mail pls edit: This is Jan Moir article she ran today. She is vile: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1354725/Amanda-Holden-miscarriage-Celebrity-condolence-tweeting-offensive.html I think they took it down but last year she wrote a piece right after the death of Stephen Gatley (UK Boyband member) that was essentially undertones of "Well he's gay, probably died of drugs, it's what those people do" http://twitter.com/#!/Lord_Sugar/status/34904916975689729 heheh

excel_excel
HORRIBLE? She's an awesome parent, she forgave her son for spending £1000 of her money when it was clear he knew exactly what he was doing! Sure she's probably incredibly neglectful and a complete moron but....er....I don't know where I was going with this
King Jimmeh
Horrible parent is a stretch. Useless and lazy parent I'd certainly agree with, along with generally a horrible person for blaming her problems on the big corps rather than her son. King Jimmeh
I'd say to be horrible, you'd have to mistreat them some how. That kid looks far from mistreated.

But yeah, dude dies, she spins it off into some drivel with a homophobic, conspiracy theory edge to it.
