L.A. Noire

Yeah, all this stuff's really just icing on the cake for me. On top of a good open world Western (which I got, kinda, with RDR), I've always wanted a Noir game, or something with a great cinematic sense and detective story. Getting all three lumped in one, it seems. The day it comes out over here is the day I have to move out of my first flat though, which will suck quite a lot. Not gonna stop me enjoying, though!

It's getting a PS3 exclusive mission.

This is pretty shitty. It's nice we get the extra stuff, but shitty that devs still do this. What's the point.

I'm hardly bothered. Most of these "exclusive" missions and weapons and whatnot are pretty superficial these days. For example, I never got anything special when I bought Red Dead Redemption, but it hasn't kept me from loving the game.

On the flipside though, I'm still a tiny bit bummed that the Xbox version of Batman didn't get the playable Joker challenge stages. Since that became one of my favorite games, it became a sorely missed feature.

Hahaha, damn. I don't know why it took me so long to recognize him, but I was looking at some screenshots just now and I realized that the main character is the guy who plays Ken Cosgrove in Mad Men.

That explains why Cole Phelps always looked kinda familiar.

Hmm, I am still a little undecided on this game. The setting and everything look cool but the gameplay looks a bit simple and I don't even know if you can fail a case or just get a bad rating. Nothing really seems that 'connected' either; although I'm not even sure that's a valid complaint.

And it may be a Team Bondi-developed game but you can see the Rockstar influence in pretty much everything. I can't believe they featured the melee combat in that trailer at least twice. That's, like, the worst aspect of Rockstar's sandbox games.

TFG, I think there might be a bit of combat but it shouldn't feature too heavily in the main cases. Appears that there are going to be 'interruptions' you can respond to (like in RDR) while you're driving around.

So, like, you could be driving around LA and during every journey some dude will ride up to you and ask for help because bandits are going to hang his wife from a tree. EVERY. JOURNEY.

At the same time, whenever I want to have a good duel there is nobody to be found. I wish those quests were more user triggered rather than random. The bounty quests are done better because you can do one whenever you want but you don't constantly get the failed mission messages. "The thief got away. P.S. you suck"

Who said the gunplay sucks? What would lead you to think it's any better or worse than GTA IV or RDR?

I don't know where FDS heard that, but remember, this is primarily being developed by Team Bondi, not Rockstar, so we can't expect many elements from GTAIV or RDR to translate into this title.

Who's Team Bondi? What have they ever done?

That particular studio is made of people who worked on The Getaway before.
