L.A. Noire

I agree that GTA IV's story has been lacking. I hear that Lost and the Damned is better but I haven't gotten that far. I'm actually working my way through GTA IV PC for the first time (glitches and all) right now and I think I'm enjoying it less because of RDR. It seems like there aren't many rewards as you progress through the game and I found the gunplay and story far more fun in RDR. It's not a bad game and it's still very impressive from a technical standpoint but I do find the core game somewhat lacking.

I never really had any doubt that it wouldn't be good to a certain degree. Nice to hear that it's that good though.

Think about it this way- Rockstar weren't going to put a bad title out. With them guiding the development and ideas from an early stage, but letting Bondi innovate what they want, it was set to be good. Rockstar's Quality Control must be unreal.

While I feel it might be a bit of fail as a 'game', it should be great as an 'experience' or 'drama'. But hopefully the game part's good, too!

I assume that's from the Giantbomb review?

This is hte same EG that I linked yesterday as the guys who run Digital Foundry? tbh I quite like EG reviews.

But yeah is this the same Giantbomb review where a ctrl+f on "bondi" finds it only 3 times. twice in the comments one once on the "developer" section. Rockstar on the other hand pops up 9 times. I've never read a Giantbomb review before, but I don't think I want to dip into this one too much.

Does it really matter how many times he mentions Team Bondi? If he liked the game, he liked the game, and that's what a review should tell you.

It shows a lack of effort going into the review though, if they're not even bothering to talk about the people who actually made the game but just the publisher.

*Edit* - Just out of curiosity, since the lack of multiplayer means it doesn't really matter, but which platform did everyone get it on? I got it for PS3.

I really hope the general gaming public doesn't reject this game once they find out that it's not like Grand Theft Auto and you can't go around shooting and running over people at your leisure. That might sound silly but that's what a lot of people who don't follow game news buy sandbox games for.

God, I can't imagine dropping $60 on a game based on absolutely nothing but the name. That Halo Wars mistake would require that they not even glance at the back of the box.

If you drop sixty dollars on a game without reading anything about it, including the back of the box, then you don't deserve to have money. That's the way I see it.
