excaliburps
Hey, Anyone here BF fans from Asia? Namely, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc? We're planning something for Asian BF fans. As US and EU (etc) sites are very plentiful. I'm going to run it through Zh1nt0 (DICE CM) once we have everything plotted out. So...Anyone here a BF fan? peteer01
I like BFBC2, and I have it for the 360...sadly, it's pretty much unplayable in Japan unless you're a masochist who somehow derives pleasure from unplayably bad connections. What? I play with a couple of Japanese players and they seem to be doing ok. Sucks, man. You have an idea why that is?

What? I play with a couple of Japanese players and they seem to be doing ok. Sucks, man. You have an idea why that is? Well, you know how the 360 has sold in Japan... While you can find COD:BO games, if you don't use the Locale Only search options, you're in for some seriously horrible connections. As for other FPSers, even they're popular at first (MNC wasn't bad), the lack of a local only search option starts leading to people leaving when the bad connections become to frequent, which leads to more bad connections for the people trying to stick around...and the downward spiral continues. For SSFIV, for example, you can search by country, which means I'll only end up playing players in Japan, and there's always someone to play. Japan's internet is world class, and if you can play against people in Japan, multiplayer games are a delight. When you're forced to connect to people outside of Japan (and often on other continents), things end badly. That's why the lack of locale only search killed online for me within a few months of release. I'd rather sit around and wait to lose to a superior team in Japan than be able to play quickly against less skilled opponents, but end up with an unplayably bad connection on a regular basis.
