SomTervo
I have to admit, when he was naked in the farmhouse and was running about the countryside, all sweaty...
Hot Heart
http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/05/11/x-men-first-class-clip-mystique/ Nothing too surprising, but it gives you an idea of the tone and how back-to-basics they are going. I like.
Mr W Phallus
Who is that guy at the back and why is his reaction important?
deanb
Apart from James McAvoy he's the only actor I recognised. He's also the one who introduces Hank McCoy in the character trailer. So I guess he's the government guy sympathetic to the mutant cause. (also wasn't he in X3?) edit: nope on the X3 thing. He's credited as "Man in Black" for First Class though. Also Kevin Bacon is Sebastian Shaw? I thought Sebastian Shaw was a heavily built guy?
Thursday Next
I'd quite like to meet the individual who coined the word "preboot". I already hate that word and I've only read it in two places (including my use just then).

I never thought of the character as being anymore heavy built than your average, yet muscle-ripped character. Bacon is in very good shape. My biggest concern about Bacon in that role is that Shaw is an anglophile and Bacon typically plays characters with a southern accent. Toshi
I'm semi-interested in this movie because I've seen the rest of the movies. 1 was ok, 2 was pretty good, and 3 was terrible. Wolverine was kinda... idek. Neither I suppose, though leaning on kinda bad. I don't have hopes for this prequel because I've been disappointed by the last 2 films
deanb
New films are by new people with new cast though. Seems new direction and feel too.

Strangelove
Ill upset every nerd in the room, but....those X-men movies would have not succeeded without Wolverine. Seriously. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Halle Berry, etc.......................they couldnt hold up that movie by themselves without Hugh Jackman and Wolverine. Just the truth. Im personally not looking forward to this movie because it doesnt have Wolverine. And it looks weird. But ill wait til the reviews come in. Wait, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan couldn't hold up a movie on their own? Had the script been good enough, the whole film could have been those two talking over a chess game for one and a half hours and it would still be entertaining. I'm looking forward to seeing this tomorrow. Just need to find a willing partner to Wednesday a l'Orange it with me.
Hot Heart
http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/reviewcomplete.asp?FID=136807 Hmm... Usually expect Empire to give the big-name British directors at least a 4. Sounds like some major flaws in there (or just a fair score... ) Why, for example, does Lehnsherr suddenly turn Irish — Fassbender’s natural twang — in the final 20 minutes? We suspect there may not have been time for a much-needed ADR session. I did notice that in one clip.
Dee
I'm probably going to see this later today/tonight, so I'll come back with a review. I've already listened to some audio reviews and read a few elsewhere. I'm looking forward to this, but I don't want to get my expectations up TOO high, just in case I'm slightly disappointed. After all, the last few X-Men were just not good at all. Though I know there is a new director, etc... Anyway, I'm excited!

BrainHurtBoy...2
I posted in the good movies thread, but I'll sum up here. Better than the Dark Knight, I fucking loved it. Best superhero movie I've ever seen. Fucking incredible.
HotChops
I absolutely LOVED it! Magneto hunting Nazis. The Cold War story. The weird and unexpected relationship between Xavier and Mystique. The only issue is that the movie takes quite a few liberties, which some fans won't be able to handle. And I was bugged by the way Xavier's always touching his temple. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
I STILL think the mutants are a veiled reference for homosexuality. For Christ's sake, one of the characters says "He didn't ask, I didn't tell" when it comes to their mutant abilities! It's hammering the point home like that asteroid nailed the dinosaurs millions of years ago.
