Can I just say that I really don't care for movie Mystique's look still?  I always wonder why they keep it when it looks so...bleh.  It's hard for me to believe that these are the same folks who churned out something as hilariously awesome as Kelsey Grammer as Beast.

Please refer to the previously linked article.

I didn't have your linked article before I had mentioned that it may be future Toad, all I saw was the previously linked Imgur covers. So your "I shouldn't have to explain why" comment was un justified. Your only argument is an article which says "Toad (Past)". You provide no argument aside from that single line as to why Toad couldn't exist in the future. I figured that the background image, although shows its the past, could include future Toad since time travel is the plot of the film. I was speculating, and really didn't need your arrogant remarks.

It does just say "Toad (past)" though. It explains nothing. It also says about characters from the original (future) X-men joining forces with the new (past) first class X-men. And Toad was in the original film. Your link was the complete opposite of a concrete explanation on why it isn't the Toad seen in X1.

Not only does your article explicitly say that Toad cannot be from the future, but we also know that the Empire covers are misleadin. for example Rogue is a cover, but she has been cut from the film entirely.

From your linked article

The Sentinels are powerful robots created by Trask industries specifically to hunt down - and if it comes to it, to kill - mutants. That obviously puts them at odds with the X-Men, and in a dark future ruled by the Sentinels Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart ) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) team up to send Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time to avert their rise. The only problem is that he'll have to convince the younger Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) to help him.
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

As Dean said, there is nothing here saying it is not Toad from X1.

It's past Toad, because he's being played by a different actor than X-Men Toad. Only past Wolverine is played by the same actor. QE to the motherfucking D.

Also: this argument is ridiculous and nerdy, with FDS all like "You don't know shit, MBM, because you misidentified the nature of a minor villain character in an as-yet unreleased movie. Do you even read comic books?" and MBM being all like "I made an honest mistake, but it's not my fault at all! Let me keep telling you it's not my fault!" and Dean coming in all like "your sources are shit, FDS, do you even nerd?"

When did I ever mention the comics or talk about the nature of the character? Everything I've said is entirely based on the movie continuity and the fact that there is no future toad picture listed. It explicitly says "Toad (past)" on the site which means it is the Toad that eventually ends up in X1. This isn't a reboot. As someone else pointed out this will probably end up retconning a bunch of shit though. As in the first 3 movies.

I liked First Class a lot better the second time I saw it, when I wasn't as distracted by the continuity problems.

Singer was also a producer on First Class, why would he be any more likely to fuck this one up than that one?

Im not sure why people hate Singer so much. I can only assume it's because of Superman Returns. I havent seen it but even if I had I wouldn't blame all it's problems on him, Superman just sucks. Man Of Steel sucked too. And so have almost all of the Superman movies.

On the other side of the coin, he directed the first 2 Xmen movies and produced First Class, so he's had his hand in all the good Xmen movies. Theres no reason not to trust him.

I still dont though. I dont blindly trust any director. If you do though, you should probably trust Singer. Terrible costumes(in EVERY Xmen movie) aside, he's done alright.

I don't tend to specifically trust anyone, but I also don't assume they're going to fuck up unless past experience tells me they will.

I did trust Christopher Nolan until The Dark Knight Rises.  Although even that movie wasn't bad, it just wasn't up to the quality of the other two.

I will now rank the X-Men films. My ranking is fact, not opinion.

1) Days of Future Past

2) First Class

3) X2

4) The Wolverine

5) X1

6) X3

7) Wolverine Origins (even though my best friend from college was a pretty notable extra, the tall blonde guy Wolverine rescued at the end of the film, that still can't save the film from being garbage)

I fixed that for you. We don't want you giving out false information now.

Oh no, Days of Future Past was SO MUCH better than First Class.  I haven't seen the other X-Men films recently enough to be able to accurately rank them though.  Other than to say Wolverine Origins is at the bottom (unless The Wolverine is worse, I haven't see that one at all).

The Wolverine is "good" not great, but good. RANKING IT BELOW X3?! COME ON, DAN, COME THE FUCK ON. THAT'S CRAZY TALK. X3 KILLED THE LEADER OF THE XMEN (besides Xavier) OFF CAMERA. THAT WOULD BE LIKE AVENGERS 2 KILLING CAPTAIN AMERICA, OFF CAMERA. Jesus.
