Mister Jack
I did have a morbid curiosity about when Pixar would finally make a movie that's...well, not good. I mean, let's face it, no winning streak lasts forever. It had to happen sooner or later. Of course, now that it has I don't really feel good about it. staySICK
Incredibles is well.. incredible. Â and you'd rather see a Bug's Life sequel? That's my least favorite Pixar movie thus far. Yes, its below Cars in my mind.

deanb
In my time of no net I watched Mr Bean..err something.. the one in France. It was okay, but I still feel that even with larger budgets n such that the movies don't hit the same highs as the TV show. There wasn't much in the way of him making simple tasks overly complicated. (I'm not an alien and even I'd have trouble getting to Cannes from UK. It's not a "simple" task like getting to the dentists or getting an Xmas tree.) P4: Gritty Reboot
I watched Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones last night. It was well-filmed and acted, but it took a turn to be your typical afterlife navel-gazing flick. It was The Last OK Movie I Saw.
Yantelope
I saw Transformers 3. I thought the previous 2 were better. This one got too serious and felt like a bit of a beatdown by the end. For those of you who hated the twins and constant jokes in the last movie maybe you'll like this one better. Not a bad movie but not my favorite in the series. Edited July 1, 2011 by Yantelope

Their winning streak ended when the original Cars was made.
CorgiShinobi
Pfft, the first Cars was still a pretty good movie. It was my least liked Pixar movie, but at least it shows it's a Pixar film. It wasn't some NASCAR love story, but about the legacy of Route 66 and the role automobiles served decades ago. Rather than being a mode of transportation, they were a vital tool of exploration for the average joe. Â The humbling of the hot shot McQueen, the reality of being a "legend," and knowing what truly matters. That was all in the first Cars. In Cars 2... nothing! Well, I guess there's a "be yourself" message, but it's not like we haven't seen that before in other movies, television shows, books, and some adult in school telling us in a lecture. Mr W Phallus
They're already making Toy Story 4. God I hope that Tom Hanks was just bullshitting. Even though I'd trust Pixar to do a good job of it, I'd much rather they put their enormous talent to making new, original films.
Hocking
Watched No Strings Attached last night. I only really picked it up because of Natalie Portman and it was a tad boring. Not enough originality in what turned out to be a generic attempt at romantic comedy. Edited July 2, 2011 by Hocking

McQueen was easily the weakest part of "Cars" for me. Pixar's known for their unique, interesting characters that you like right from the get-go. McQueen is the cliche "I'm an unbelievably selfish asshole who learns the value of friendship!", and he wasn't even a particularly strong example of that archetype. Â But really, Car's biggest problems can be summed up with one name: Larry the Cable Guy. Mater's not a lovable hick; he's just a hick. Â It's even more baffling that Pixar made the entire move of Cars 2 and didn't once realize their PROTAGONIST WAS FUCKING LARRY THE CABLE GUY. Â DID ANYONE AT PIXAR LOOK AT THE MAN'S ACTING CAREER AND MOVIE HISTORY? DID THEY SERIOUSLY THINK IT WAS GOING TO TURN OUT WELL?
CorgiShinobi
Cars 2 had a problem with Mater, but I think he wasn't that bad in the first. He was that kind of simpleton that helped McQueen have fun in the little things. Because he's a goof, it made him more popular with children, and since Cars is most popular with children... Mater became the main protagonist in Cars 2. Â Sure I'm barely a fan of Larry the Cable Guy, especially those horrendous films of his, but I never really associated Mater with him in the first. Cars 2, it might as well be "Larry the Cable Guy: Ready for Two Hours?"
P4: Gritty Reboot
Super 8. So very cliche much of the time, but also very well done for the most part.
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Super 8. So very cliche much of the time, but also very well done for the most part. I admit that I almost burst into tears during a particular scene at the end, but I also felt resentment towards the movie instead of a true moment. My thoughts were "Fuck you, movie! This is cheap as hell, and I'm still falling for it!" It happened both times I saw it.
deanb
Transformers. We were going to watch Green Lantern but all that was running then was the subtitled version. Â It was okay. I think I liked it more for the cast than anything. I'm not too caring for CGI heavy films with lots of shooty shooty and such. It wasn't the total fuck up of the last film, but it was okay. I'm kinda confused just how many artefacts there are around Sol mind. They could just keep churning these out. I'm doubting they will though. Â And we only went to see it cos we hooked TV up for first time in a long long time and there was an advert for Harry Potter (I'm hyped)
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
So, Horrible Bosses... That's a movie. Parts of it were funny. And that about sums it up. Don't know exactly what I expected, but it felt rather by-the-numbers. Which is odd, since I don't remember seeing any movie before this one where the main characters were trying to murder their bosses.
CorgiShinobi
I really want to see Horrible Bosses. I don't know why I have this "urge" to see it, but I think it's because I haven't seen a comedy in theaters for a long while. Seems like the type of movie a few friends can enjoy together. Â That and Jennifer Aniston is hot.

Hot Heart
I sincerely doubt it. Mike Judge has nothing to do with it and I don't really sense a satirical edge.

Hot Heart
Yeah, it might appear that way if you're not familiar with Mike Judge's work. Â The concept sounds vaguely Strangers On A Train-like. Not that that hasn't been done before.

I'm familiar with Judge, just not familiar with this film beyond the vague plot synopsis of "People hate their bosses, plan to kill them, hilarity ensues (or rather a couple of resigned sighs ensue)."
