Mister Jack
I've been looking for a good gaming news app and for a long time they've all been garbage. Crashing, sloppy garbage. However, I downloaded one called Appy Gamer and I think I finally have a winner. It's easy to use, seems pretty stable from my experience, has a nice interface, articles that are laid out neatly, the ability to customize your news sources, and a feature that learns your interests and then recommends relevant articles by touching an icon at the top. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a similar app for your phone or tablet.
TheFlyingGerbil
looks cool. Can't believe I haven't thought to get an app like that before.
deanb
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkeySwiftkey is now free on the Play store (not sure if it'll be free on iOS 8 too). Pretty cracking and customisable keyboard. Mine is currently Berry Red using the side-keyboard (since I've a bigger screen, makes it easier for one handed use). It's monetised via themes now (you get a bunch of free themes if you'd previously paid for the app)I used to have Appy Gamer (and the tech one they do too), it was okay but I stopped using it for some reason and I can't entirely remember why. I think something along lines of bad categorisation and lots of duplicates on some stories that were a bit hard to filter. But it has been some years, I might check it out again I guess. FredEffinChopin
I used to use Appy Gamer quite a bit, and was definitely pleased with its look, functionality and customization options. I certainly did encounter the duplicate stories, but it didn't kill the experience for me. I think I just stopped using it when I just stopped checking game news as much. I'm sure that'll pick up again eventually. There are other apps in the "appy" line too, as I recall. I think a general tech one is one of them, and there may be others besides that. And Swiftkey is awesome. It's going to be even more of a lifesaver now that I'm finally moving onto a new phone today after clutching my current one for years because of its awesome physical keyboard. At least I'll have a familiar interface and a solid predictive game right out the gate.
Clayton Ballentine
Hopefully I'm not too late. Dead Trigger 2 is my go-to zombie game.
TheFlyingGerbil
It's fine to bring up old threads here and if you're going to necro a thread it makes sense to do it to talk about zombies! Personally I don't play anything that exciting. My favourite at the moment is Nemo Picross. It's a pretty addictive puzzle game.
TheRevanchist
I've been immersed in Clash of Clans for months now. It's a pure time waste, but the guys I'm playing with are usually drunk in chat. We shit-talk day and night. Good times!

TheRevanchist
I'll warn you, the shit takes forever to get something done in the game. Expect n00b status for at least 3 months, then be disappointed that your town/village isn't further along.
Mister Jack
A while ago I checked the Amazon app store for Hearthstone on a whim. It wasn't there, but I still felt like playing a card game and I eventually ended up with this: For a licensed game it's actually pretty cool. Despite what Jake says, it's easy to learn the rules of the game and it has both single player and online tournaments for prizes. You can also craft uncommon or rare cards out of common cards, which is a nice feature. It does have microtransactions, but they aren't shoved down your throat like in Dungeon Keeper. The prices for gems are much more reasonable than in other games, but you still don't have to use them if you don't want to. The game does have an energy meter, but it refills when you beat new missions and it doesn't take long to recharge anyway. The only thing you would ever really need gems for is to expand your inventory slots (you start with 50) and buy rare cards from the algebraic chest. On top of that, you get a free gem whenever you complete all three missions for a stage. Usually I can't stand microtransactions, but I'm having fun with this game and it isn't asking for too much so I might spend 5 bucks at some point to get six gems (which is enough for 2 rare cards or 20 inventory slots). deanb
I had a friend suggest it to me ages ago, finally got it free on the Amazon App Store a month or so back, but it was crashy. Got an update other day so I've now fully beaten BMO and doing the quests to unlock next stage. It is pretty nice and simple to learn, slick graphics, and yeah I'm hoping ot have a crack at MP with my friend (I guess as n when I get on it I can post my name, though it'll likely be my usual).
