Maritan
30 bucks for Russian version, 80 for European. I don't want to play fucking localization and I don't want to pay extra 20$ for version for white people too. I'm a sad panda.
deanb
Why is called Di-ablo if it's actually pronounced Dee-ablo?
Johnny
... Because it's from Spanish as opposed to English?
deanb
http://www.walmart.com/ip/19237343 The walmart product description. (also for a game due out in a few days, doesn't seem to be much buzz about the game around these parts)
toxicitizen
It's the calm before the storm, man! I've got the installer downloaded and sitting on my desktop and tuesday can't come quickly enough. I'm hoping ebgames will send my copy early so that I'll get it on monday and be able to play when the servers go live at midnight but I think that's pretty fucking unlikely edit: just had a look at my bank account and my card was charged today! there is hope yet! Johnny
I know a handful of people on my steam list is getting it on day one. I'm doing so as well. I think most of the lack of buzz is that people pretty much know what they are getting into. There's not a lot of questions open and nothing really to discuss. Unless you want to try to extrapolate high-level balance discussions based on level 1-13 in the beta. Which I would advice against.
P4: Gritty Reboot
The game has really piqued my interest after I had to write some video scripts for them and after grilling Johnny about it... It may be a while yet before I have the $120 to play co-op with my wife though, so there's that. I really like the concept of focusing on the application of your character build rather than optimizing an upgrade tree.
toxicitizen
If you've downloaded the installer already, it should be unlocked now. So, let's get some last minute discussion going here! Those getting it tomorrow or tonight: what will be your first character? Demon Hunter was the one I was most interested in to begin with and I'd long figured I'd use it for my first run. But now I'm having last minute doubts. I'm hesitating between demon hunter, wizard and barbarian. I played through the beta with four of the five classes (no interest whatsoever in the witch doctor) and while I thought the monk was pretty boring, barbarian and wizard were both tons of fun. It was particularly satisfying as the barbarian to cleave through a crowd of enemies with a claymore and have the game inform me I'd just killed 7 enemies in a single swing. deanb
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-05-14-the-diablo-3-starter-edition-is-a-free-trial-demo Seems kinda silly to only let you play with other guest pass users. "Hey mate, here have my guest pass and then you can play with other peoples mates instead of with me as you'd think would have made sense"
Faiblesse Des Sens
Newbs with newbs. Level cap. Makes sense. Just like the beta.
deanb
Apart from those that had been in the beta, tomorrow everyone will be newbs, full copy or guest copy.
Vargras
Folks who were in the closed beta (like me!) get a special sigil to use for their banners, as well as a Feat of Strength. I already know my first character will be a Monk. My BattleTag is Vargras#1702, so some of you can add me once the game goes live.

deanb
Servers have crashed, surprise surprise. (Also seems after years of inactivity they delete your account so I guess that's neat. Anywho, knocked up a new account: deanbmmv#2472. Not that I expect to be playing mind)
toxicitizen
Did you have anything registered to it? I imagine it was an old account that dated from before Battle.net 2.0? It sure as hell wouldn't be right for them to delete an account with say StarCraft 2 and a bunch of WoW expansions registered to it, regardless of account activity. TheMightyEthan
At least it's 8-10 instead of the 4-5 that's become the norm.
deanb
Yeah it was an old account. Some fiddling about and my old wow account is now tied to my newly made battle.net account. For whatever good that'll do me (as if I'll be playing WoW any time soon) So the launch pretty much seems to be a disaster. No doubt as it picks up people will quickly forgive and forget cos it's Blizzard after all, but damn have they really hammered home why always-on DRM sucks. But at least it's a widespread n pretty public failing so it'll hopefully make any other future games wary to use similar DRM for the initial PR backlash it'll cause.
Johnny
Ironically, everyone I know who's angry about it are the people who didn't even buy the game. There's been less issues than I expected to be honest.
toxicitizen
I wouldn't call it a disaster by any stretch of the imagination. We're about 12 hours in and I managed to log in right away when I got my copy this afternoon. Servers are down for maintenance now, but I played for about 4 hours straight without a single issue. It was inevitable that there would be server problems at the very start with a game as big as this but they managed to make it playable pretty quickly. This was nowhere near as bad as say Black Ops, which worked fine for me after a couple of days but was unplayable for weeks for a lot of people. TheMightyEthan
Except when the Black Ops servers went down it didn't lock you out of singleplayer, did it?
toxicitizen
Except when the Black Ops servers went down it didn't lock you out of singleplayer, did it? No, but that's kind of irrelevant here. Besides, most people buy COD solely for the multiplayer, so it's not like it makes that big of a difference.
