  1. 1. How many?

I have a heartbreaking story about my PS3 dying the day the PS3 Slim was announced, 8 days out of warranty, and the bitches in customer service that did not give a righteous fuck.

Actually, that's it in a nutshell.

$150 to repair my PS3, HALF the cost of a brand new Slim?

Fuck you, Sony, fuck you very much.

Oh, and all the saved games lost, hundreds of hours, a handful of games just hours from completion-

Just thinking about it makes me rage.

5? What do you do with them? jizz inside the air vents and wait for it to harden after peeing all over it?

Urm....no

I have allot of free time, so I really just ware them out.

Also, when they get replaced, they're replaced with a refurbished model, as they don't make the one I have any more.

heh, 1 per year of release

Just the 1. A launch 60 GB I picked up in December of 2006 and upgraded to a 500 GB a couple years back. And I use the shit out of the thing too. So I dunno. Used 6 out of the 7 days a week now for 2-8 hours a day. Oh, and when folding came out there was a point when I wasn't playing a game or watching a movie it was folding@home, always. I didn't turn off the PS3 for a stretch of 13 months. And it still hums as quiet as a slim.

The ONLY issue mine has, is the fold down door that covers the card readers got a little bent and busted when the console was dropped one time. So it doesn't sit all nice and flush anymore when it is closed.:(

Damn modern consoles being made of glass! Back in my day, I had a SEGA MASTER SYSTEM and 20 years later IT STILL WORKS! *waves walking stick*

damn right! (that's the reason for the "I have a dreamcast" option :D)

Just thought, maybe if I dusted my room once in a while, that might extend the lifespan....lol

Back in my day you could get a 20 hour playtime on the Gameboy with only 4 batteries! Not like these namby pamby handheld consoles today, THAT YOU KEEP IN YUR PURSES *cough* *hack*

yea....but that was original GB with 4 AA batteries. The GB pocket, that took 2 AAA's, and would last about 2.45 minutes. :D

I'm on my second one, technically, although its been sent to Sony and repaired.

The system died earlier last year (YLOD), had Darksiders stuck inside it no less.

I sent it in and paid the total of like ~$180 to have it fixed; I could have gotten a slim, but I want to keep my BC. So until I can't repair mine any more, I'm keeping my 60 gb phat.

So that's 1 dead ps3, 1 dead Wii, and um... 5? dead 360s

I'm on my second though it's not because the first one broke. I bought a 160gb slim with a pretty decent bundle. Only a few weeks later the 250gb one came out with uncharted 2 as a pack-in, I traded in my 160gb with two old Wii games and £20 and got the 250gb with UC2 and GTA IV. Bargain.

Mate, my Dreamcast fucking died! Don't rub it in! I tried it years after I had last put it away, and I'm pretty sure the laser reader is out of action. I'm still desperate to replay Shenmue 1 and 2, and Jet Set Radio.

On-topic: 1 PS3, 80GB edition, pissed off about missing the 60GBs while they were around, I would have killed (and still would kill) for PS2 BC, and it runs smooth as a baird. Crashes once a month or so, but aside from that, all dandy. Great machine.

I'm also on my 5th or so Xbox 360. After having mine broken for about 6 months, early last year, I finally got it fixed in time for Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption, both titles I had been waiting about 4 years, give or take, each for. Guess what happened on the first night I got Alan Wake? RRoD. You have no idea how much I raged. (Thankfully the legendary guy at the computer store gave me a new, spare 360 Arcade they had downstairs for the price of fixing my old console the very next week. It's the Jasper motherboard version, so it totally chilling and I've never had any problems with it since.)

Nooo! I've recieved my replacement, but turns out it didn't save my latest Section 8 and Fallout NV trophies!

And without a save file, I gotta do the whole game again just so i can finish it twice more, and get the pick pocket stuff :s damnit

Of course the Section 8 stuff will take the longest.

Also, I've noticed that although Fallout does freeze, it never crashes, you just gotta wait :s

But honestly, I have 2. I have an 80GB that broke down on me. I was going to get it fixed because my PS2 was pretty much done (although it surprisingly plays a game every now and then), but I buckled and got the slim because I wanted a new controller and the extra year manufacturer's warranty. Maybe one of these days, I'll send the old one in, but I doubt I'll get my BC back.

I've had 3. First one was the glorious launch 60 gig I got at a store at midnight and a terrible fate befell it. My asshole friend was dicking around and knocked the fucker off it's stand and broke the bluray drive...Made him pay 600 dollars the fucking ass. Then the next was a MGS4 special edition PS3 that had still backwards compatibility, but then that broke after and a month and now I am stuck with a shitty 80 gig. MOTHER FUCK.

I splurged and got the limited edition Gunmetal Grey MGS4 PS3.

It has lasted me thus far, but it makes me nervous sometimes. The odd time I'll be playing and it makes a muted click-like noise and then beeps immediately after, and I have no idea why. I don't think its hot (I touched it), but for some reason I want to add that I remember hearing the fans flare up after that. Not sure if I'm remembering that correctly, though.

Because of the nature of the release of the console, they were only covered by a one year warranty that they had you send to a different address to get serviced. I can picture myself opening the system to fix it myself one day.
