Never collected all the Pokemon, just traveled everywhere doing all you can before it becomes level grinding for different teams.

For the first time since Pokemon Red, the final boss/trainer actually gave me a challenge. Heck, even making it to the League was difficult given some of the Pokemon you encounter. Then you actually face the Elite Four and learn that their Pokemon have a range of different type attacks.

Caught me completely off-guard when an AI Psychic-type used Thunder.

The last pokemon game I owned was Saphire. I didn't care for it. There were only two pokemon that were added that I really liked: Wingull and Whalmer.

Over all I was excited to see an attempt to recreate and start fresh with almost an entire list of new pokemon, but I didn't like it. I was severely disappointed to see that the day night cycle was removed from the game. Second Gen was my favorite, every new pokemon they added was as good (or better) than the first gen pokemon, and the world was so fresh and new, along with COLOR and breeding. It was just awesome.

I get why the Japanese are more into handhelds than us in the West, but why won't they even release entries in these series on home console?

;_;

It would be really expensive to develop and the only game Nintendo seem to spend serious money developing is Zelda. Having said that, I don't think Zelda actually sells that much compared to Nintendo's other franchises so maybe if they spent that money developing a home pokemon game they'd more likely get a better return on their investment.

Or maybe they were waiting until they had a console with robust online. It could certainly be a system seller if they need one for the Wii U

I wonder if they're concern about the type of elements that work in a handheld system transferring over into a more expansive console experience.

Don't forget that we have have some Pokemon console games (not counting Stadium 1 & 2). Those however were restricted to certain types of pokemon caught and battling was more focused on adventure than the RPG elements of Pokemon.
