innernet pet peeves

When you do a tweet and mention (in the traditional conversational sense) someone/something, and someone responds to your tweet and tags in the twitter account of what/who you mentioned. It seems to be a very Twitter-only phenomenon too. You'd never think to do anything like it IRL. "Dear McDonalds, the other day we were having a conversation amongst ourselves and Dean said he thought Big Macs were a bit flat compared to the pictures. I figured I'd let you in on this despite Dean being a grown adult and if he felt like providing direct feedback he knows your email address to".

edit: Also freaks me out, especially of late when I've been fangasming over FFIX that ever time I've mentioned FFXII as well I've had this guy message me on Twitter. He's obviously got like some kind of search set up. Had similar in past when I've linked to an article n I get a response from the author. I don't care or I'd have included you or commented directly on the post.

Incoming pedantry: I think "we" is okay for something like the Brexit vote.  The "we" you're referring to are the people of the UK, and a majority of voters did pick Brexit, so I think it's fair to say the people (or at least the voters) of the UK picked Brexit, even if a (very large) minority opposed it.

But yeah, generally speaking I definitely have the thought "don't lump me in with your psychopathy" from time to time.  "We did this thing" my ass.  *I* didn't do shit, *I* fought it the whole way, *you* did it.

God damn it, Youtube, I DON'T WANT TO TURN ON DESKTOP NOTIFICATIONS!  TAKE A HINT!

Chrome always asks me this on a few sites I visit, and I never click allow or block (i click the little X in the corner)... I can't make that commitment, I may want it someday and I don't want to dig around the settings...

I guess I should just block it cause I never seem to need it anyway.

Depends on the particular use. When people say "We voted for Brexit to get rid of immigrants." it triggers this peeve of mine. When someone says "In the June Referendum we voted to leave the EU." then yes this is factually accurate. It's more when the "we" is tied to an opinion or belief if you want to get into the nitty gritty of it.

When people go "why do you like that/those games, there are way better games made by better studios you should play instead!" when comparing stuff like arcadey racing games to hardcore racing simulators, it's like, yeah, how dare people play a game that's just about having fun instead of a game that almost requires an engineering degree to understand. :P

If I ever die before some of the Republicans that I used to look favorably to, even look up to, like say John Mcain. I want them to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time.

Disregard. I suck harder at reading than than maybe Trump reading his EOs.

I hate when I'm trying to find a new trailer and the first 3 million pages of youtube are MovieClip, MovieTrailers TrailerClips and so on re-ups with a shitty watermark. I know it doesn't make a difference, but I want to view the original trailer from its original source.

Thing is as well I've noticed some channels also like almost "clickbait" their trailer titles and usually it's a series of jammed together existing trailers. I do wish it was easier to get the official sources (though I've also noticed official trailers frequently have that 5-second lead so it can be used as a youtube advert too).

Normally when I see a trailer I click the link. See that it is watermarked to shit with "FilmTrailers" or whatever,  pause the video, search for the studios own channel, then search through their recent uploads so I can watch a version without obnoxious logos in the corners, adverts in the middle of the trailer, and watermarks.

See I usually aim to do that except in some cases the main channel doesn't actually host the trailer :/ (e.g sometimes the "official" trailer will be on the Jimmy Kimmel channel for example, or with IGN etc). Usually even if I've seen it on a different channel if I'm sharing it to the Trailer Thread I'll aim to get the "official" trailer linked there.

I hate the ones like at 0:32 of the video, where it asks you to click images with an x, whatever x is. Usually it asks to click on boxes with a sign or street sign and it's one big picture broken into parts and a very small part of the stop spills over a box so do you have to click that or not?? And those that ask to click on images of a storefront, or some other thing, and when you click the damn image in the box changes. Then you don't notice the verify box has appeared below, but you can still click on things, so you keep clicking even though you don't really have to anymore... very stupid.
