TheMightyEthan
Dean does it. All the time. Mostly on purpose. I haven't done it for ages. I made a proper mental effort to not do it. And then no one notices anyway I noticed! But then Thursday convinced me I hadn't.
Vecha
Spelling shit in a derogatory manner. Crapcom, M$, $ony, Wii, etc. LOL! What's Wii doing there? I just Wii'd in Bob's mouth with my "wii"mote. It was Wiitastic. I didn't use wiiprotection though.
TheMightyEthan
It's spelled "Wiitection". Jeese n00b.
Mister Jack
The word "noob". Every time I see it I just wanna smack the guy who said it right in the mouth. ETHAN.
Strangelove
Xbots, Wiitards, Narutards, Uhhh...PS3 fanboys? I dunno what their derogatory name is. Naruto is retarded though. Calling Naruto fans Narutards isnt completely uncalled for, but I dont want to discriminate.
fuchikoma
Websites where lengthy articles are dissected into separate pages. I can see why one would add pages from a design perspective, but something about them just annoys me the tiniest amount. It feels as though you've decided you want to exploit me for ad revenue, though I hope that's not true. Also, within this peeve, articles where the last page is just one or two paragraphs, because it's an automated process. So icky. Building on that, I HATE manga hosting sites that carry fan-translated works and only let you read them on the website, page by page, serving up banners per page. I mean, it's already legally grey to actually illegal to scan, translate, and distribute this stuff but for series that aren't officially translated it's generally accepted. These guys on the other hand take work that fans do for free, and cash in big time on it. It's like the difference between subtitling a show and offering it for download vs selling unauthorized pressed DVDs of it. To make matters worse, it's become such a de facto standard now, you can even get iPhone apps for some of these sites and if you point out to Apple that it's illegal in numerous ways... meh, whatever... they just ignore it and let them keep going as usual.
Strangelove
What the fuck does something being "hype" mean? I get if something is "hyped", but something "being" "hype?" Also, "megaton." I know what it means, but please tell me it isnt a reference to the town in Fallout 3. That's just stupid. That's like saying something is "Arkham City." Hot Heart
Also, "megaton." I know what it means, but please tell me it isnt a reference to the town in Fallout 3. That's just stupid. Why would it ever be that?

I know what it means, but please tell me it isnt a reference to the town in Fallout 3. That's just stupid. That's like saying something is "Arkham City." Outside of its proper use (a measurement of explosive power) I've only ever heard of megaton being used in the phrase 'megaton announcement' which meaning makes sense - to me at least - meaning it has a big impact. That was around a long time before fallout and is a reference to the correct meaning of the word. Can you put hype in a sentence as I'm not sure what you mean here? I can only think of "pure hype" but that is a fairly common phrase.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Something can be both "hype" and "hyped." "Hype" is sort of like cool, happening, awesome. The flipside to it would be that its used to mean bullshit, as in its all media hype or something (think viral marketing.) My experience with stuff being "hype" is from the fighting game community.
Thursday Next
I've always considered "Hype" to be an abbreviation of hyperbole. To hype something is to exaggerate it. I've never seen it used as an adjective though, only in a verb sense. You hype a thing. A thing is not hype. (Unless you are misspelling "hip"). I assume megaton is erroneously used to mean massive just as lightyears are often misused as a unit of time "It was lightyears ahead of its time." Strangelove
Thanks FDS for the hype meaning. And I assume megaton is a reference to F3 because...well, people didn't use that word online before F3. Simple as that.
Hot Heart
I assume megaton is erroneously used to mean massive just as lightyears are often misused as a unit of time "It was lightyears ahead of its time." Megaton has come to be known as one million tonnes. i.e. 'a lot'. I'd never heard 'lightyears ahead of its time', just 'lightyears ahead'. Perhaps it's 'streets ahead' on a galactic scale. Skoshuke
Websites that have a bar at the top, bottom, or in the worst case both ends of the window, that stay there as you scroll up and down the page. Tacky tacky tacky.
TheFlyingGerbil
that's best when some gremlin in the system means a phantom bar 'sticks' to the page as you scroll down and covers the link you want.
Strangelove
People who beg for specific games to be on their platform of preference. Asking is cool, BEGGING is not. PC gamers constantly asking for RDR has reached begging levels. It's 2012. Time to move on...yet there are still people asking for it. And you know what? I still wouldn't rule it out. But please shut the fuck up already. Just buy the 360 version. I know, it isnt in 10800p and it doesnt have 200000x AA, but deal with it.

Strangelove
Cant the master race just mod the hell out of GTA4 until it turns into RDR? It's the same engine. Stop building Midgar in Minecraft and work on something truly worthwhile instead.

If you're such a unique snowflake, why have I seen that stupid phrase about a million times? The Japanese call that "chuu ni byou" or "8th grade syndrome". That mostly inevitable phase where kids try to find themselves and stand out from the rest, before growing up and realizing uniqueness actually means solitude, but is also phenomenally rare. deanb
"You are a unique snowflake. Just like everyone else." Also requesting games for other platforms is fine. I do agree the RDR stuff is getting old. It's like a 5% chance it'll happen this many years on. Aldo worth noting GTAIV got torn a new one pretty hard for the PC version so maybe R* figured thry couldn't be bothered to fix pc version of the engine/take the criticism again? Mister Jack
People who use the term "Mary Sue" to describe any character they don't like. It's not a catch-all term. There are specific criteria to meet for a character, even a bad one, to be a Mary Sue. Learn how to criticize before you go throwing that phrase around.
