surely that's less about the grammar and more about "laughing" at an inappropriate time.

edit: maybe if that is something particular you've seen, it was meant in the old fashioned sense of 'lots if love'

I know this feeling.  My cousins' grandmother likes to punctuate all of her sentences with 'hee' instead of periods, on top of just commenting in a very stream of conscious way.

My cousin'll post something about her quest to become a marine biologist and her grandma'll post a comment like 'remember when i took you and your sister to dairy queen that one time hee you got ice all over your faces hee'.

For some reason, it's just really irritating.

A related peeve of mine: news site that post videos instead of written stories. If I wanted to watch someone read me the news I'd go watch TV. It's even worse when those videos auto play.

I'm the same with videogame/entertainment stuff as well. You click a link to see about a thing but then discover it's starting to load video, complete with advert beforehand.

Probably my fault for visiting IGN at all though...

Yeah, is ridiculous. Yes, there are issues with people understanding consent, but I imagine there's very little overlap on the Venn diagram of that and take where a girl's drink was spiked. No matter how much education or awareness campaigns you have you're never going to eliminate the problem of bad people who want to do bad things to other people, and saying that we shouldn't provide tools to help people protect themselves is just stupid.

"smh"

Shut the fuck up you snobby, elitist douchebag. No one cares if you're shaking your head in disappointment. You're just as dumb as the rest of us, probably even dumber if you don't realize it.

The funny thing about smh is people don't realize how archaic it is. I remember seeing that shit in 2003 on UGHH

It was never cool. It was annoying then. It's essentially a non-response. I just think it's very odd it's made a resurgence. God forbid someone makes a comment about how internet culture changes over time.
