regardless I think I'd better play it safe. Thinking about it I think the reason I did it is because obviously my real name isn't TheFlyingGerbil, and I think it is nice for people to know your real name - kind of how I like the what Do You Look like thread as it is cool to put a face to the posts also I'd have liked more people to post their voices in the English thread for the same reason. I think on the internet I just kind of forget that the posts that appear are put up by actual people and I like a reminder every now and again.

P.S. I know that was an awfully long sentence and now I'm dead self conscious about it!

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't talking about you when I started that. :)

Was someone from Kotaku who always ended all his posts with it. John Lucas was it? Not sure. Unless that's you. In that case, erm...yeah. Haha! :)

I don't think you're trying to be super-literate or something. I never got that from your posts. All's good, man. :)

"using tildes at the end of words"

--- Care to give examples? :)

Kawaii desu~! :3

What the hell does that even mean? Who does that? I mean is there anyone on Kotaku who did that? :)

It's standard weeb behavior, pay it no mind. Mostly anime fantards do this, and last I recall, we didn't have much (or any) of them.

If you end up meeting someone who does this, back away slowly and escape, or prepare to administer blunt force trauma with a heavy object.

Forums that still look like... *waves to everything* this.

So inefficient. So much scrolling. So much space wasted.

Feels like I'm back in highschool. Why has everything turned 3.0 and this hasn't yet?

Oh and I second and third and fourth whoever said

"You're vs Your" <- This shit has taken off exponentially and I'm afraid it will never ever be fixed. I've seen it on ads and professional emails. The world is doomed.

Back to the tilde thing. What effect does "~" Have on "Kawaii desu~!" or what ever it was...

Coolness.

I'm starting to get peeved at the overuse of some memes/images- like the Citizen Kane .gif of the guy in the theatre clapping. Overall I love memes, too.

EDIT: Also, what pisses me off to a massive extent is passive aggressiveness or rudeness online. So many people do that, though I see it more on forums and closed-communities than anywhere else. I'm fine with empirical or constructive criticism, even if it's in a blunt tone, but I hate comments that have personal inferences or hostile connotations.

Even if I'm having a massively heated argument with someone I'll always try and add a lighthearted element to keep the debate cool, but so many people just don't respond and escalate even more. Being friendly makes everything better in life.

Sarcastic use of "I love how..." e.g. "I love how the author of this article didn't even bother to correct their mistakes."

It stretches the last vowel. It's supposed to add to the "cuteness"... or something.

...says "hi" Pisses me off.

WoW is the only sustainable MMO.

EVE says "Hi".

No it doesn't, it doesn't say anything.

Also, the CSI meme.
