"Thank you for emailing our support team.  You will receive a response within 24 to 48 hours unless you don't because we're a bunch of incompetent fuckwits who don't know our heads from our asses.  Don't even think about trying to livechat with us or call us on the phone, though.  We have better things to do with our time than listen to your problems."

As someone who has been on the other end it's usually a matter of being understaffed. It's the same thing as Valve. They have millions of customers and clearly only 3 people who do support.

I have this ticket to Blizzard cause I lost access to my account when I reset my phone with the Battle net authenticator. Now I don't really know what to do, because to follow it up and track the support ticket, i need to login to my account. And they said in the mail if I raise multiple tickets it'd add to the delay (what?).

I just wanted to play Hearthstone. I just created a new account, I don't have purchases on that account anyway. If they respond to that ticket, cool.

Hope it's good news when you get it.

I'm in here to hate on people that show clips/gifs/captures from films or programmes, with an "I love this show" comment but don't say what the programme is. If they love it they should make it easier for other people to watch it!

maybe they want the opinion of people they respect and know the tastes of/share tastes with?

Some website may give a game is a 6 cos they're played out and need wowing, or you do a search and see angry people shouting into the void, but if I asked you guys what you think I know I'll get a reasoned view of its good and bad points and know I can make make a better decision because of it.

Maybe they just want a conversation so they can pretend they are not alone, staring into their screen...

There's actually a name for that stupid argument. It's called the fallacy of relative privation. Feel free to call people out on it the next time they use it on you.

I actually kept that term and definition open in my phone's browser for like a full week back when I learned it, just to make sure it was committed to memory haha. What's weird is that I don't think I've referenced it by that name even once since then. I have used the term whataboutism though... It just happened to be more appropriate for the context of the discussion(s).

I've probably mentioned this before, but I hate fan made shit based on existing properties. It bothers me to an insane degree. It's not even a peeve, I hate it. I somehow feel embarrassed for the person that makes it. It's such a strange feeling, just so uncomfortable.

I was going to single out fan made movie posters of movies that haven't come out yet, but there's so much more. Photoshopping actors to look like a character from a movie or tv show or comic or game or anything. Fan made movie trailers that are made entirely from preview trailers, teasers and sequels to the movie that is coming out. Hate that shit.

People who make their own video games covers, print them out and actually use them. Ugh. That's so obsessive. It's a goddamn mental illness. Someone should tell them that instead of encouraging it.

Cosplay that fucks shit up with the colors or the theme. I don't want to see a Hello Kitty Darth Vader or a steampunk Batman. That's like making a costume out of the garbage action figures we used to get for Xmas when we they had ran out of the original toy at the store.

I know it sounds like I'm trying to suppress self expression or something, but it's just so bad. I know a lot of this stuff takes a lot of work to make sometimes, but it's always bad. It all looks like cheesy bootleg shit I grew up with in my childhood. I hated it then and I hate it now.

And yes, anime music videos also fall within this realm. Fuck that.

This is more of a gaming pet peeves thing, but when people say 'level geometry' instead of 'level design', fucking hell it does my head in.

There are times when it's definitely worth saying 'level geometry'. But 90% of the time I see people use the phrase they're referring to aspects of how the level was designed as a space, not the geometry itself.

I think I've only ever seen PC-only gamers say it, too. Sounds so bloody pretentious.
