deanb
So what mice do you have? Anyone looking into getting a better mouse? I'm currently rocking a Logitech G5 It has served me well the past year. And it's still intact which is good. I'm loving the ability to switch between three DPI settings. Works not just in games but photoshop and 3D modelling as well. I'd strongly recommend it for anyone wanting a competent but reasonably priced gaming mouse (though I think it's becoming obsolete now, isn't there a new model?) Also I thought I'd share this nifty mouse I spotted other day: http://shogunbros.com/ Part mouse, part gamepad. I can't help but feel it'll be terribly unergonomic. Cyber Rat
I had a Razer Krait for the past 8 months, but it turned out it was a faulty model and since the store I got it from didn't have any other Kraits to replace it, I took a Logitech MX518 instead. Liking it so far.
staySICK
So what mice do you have? Anyone looking into getting a better mouse? I'm currently rocking a Logitech G5 same here. except my scrollwheel is apparently borked.

deanb
That looks horrible. Whats it like?
Pheermee
It is actually really nice. The large size works well with my massive hands. And has 3 click buttons ob top in addition to the scroll wheel. Can you say dedicated zoom, alternate fire, and shooting? You can change the sensitivity on the fly (I think max is like 2,500 DPI. Not sure though) and has a few buttons on the sides as well. Oh and that giant red thing pops out and can be replaced with weighted versions. Plus most if not all the contact points for your hand are no slip grip. Edited December 13, 2010 by Pheermee
Chronixal
Uh, I have some bargain bin, £10 jobbie from PC World. I feel justified in that the most my laptop sees of games is Peggle and rarely, Torchlight. I was, perhaps foolishly, under the impression a mouse was just a mouse. Cyber Rat
So, um, how does Ellis kissing Nick fit into all of this?
Pheermee
lol you may need to find a new source for your pic tali
Yantelope
I'm still rocking the original MX1000. It's a classic and I still love it.
Chronixal
If you refresh, it should show mice now. Hah, I love how your nails match your mouse. So, I figure this is a bit like asking the length of a piece of string but what is a reasonable cost for lower-middle class mouse? I won't be needing anything extravagant but something...capable. Pheermee
Unless you are looking for high end gaming mice, just about any mouse will do fine
Chronixal
Fair enough, I'll make do then. I should be more concerned about building a proper PC in the first place before worrying about the little things.
Yantelope
Most gaming mouse stuff is snake oil but I love wireless mouses. Also the thumb buttons that let you go back in your web browser are super nice too.
Pheermee
Snake oil that works. Do you realize what crazy sensitivity 3,000 dpi is?
toxicitizen
Actually shopped around for a new gaming mouse last month. I was using a crappy Dell one and the scrolling wheel stopped clicking, so I had to replace it. Had my sight set on the Logitech MX518 for a while (the one Cyber Rat posted), but ultimately I went with a Razer DeathAdder and I'm really glad I did. Cyber Rat
FLD, I've heard that the Deathadder is pretty much the only better choice than the MX518. I would have gone with it myself had I a bigger budget.

ixa
right now I have some Dynex wireless mouse that I think is actually my brothers for his laptop. I used to have some old wired mouse that just said Microsoft under the left click button but I can't find a picture. it broke though so I'm stuck with this wireless one. I want to get a new mouse soon but we'll see.
Mal
I'm currently using the same one I had when I got my Dell and some other similar one. I'm close to be getting a MX518. Tried and true by many people so I won't complain.
Shukun
MX Revolution Smoothscroll "broke" in the first month of use, fast forward 3-4 years, it works again.
deanb
MX Revolution Smoothscroll "broke" in the first month of use, fast forward 3-4 years, it works again. What exactly is the side scroll wheel used for? I guess it can do really really wide websites, but how often is that? Does it do any tricks for other stuff? Does it do any tricks for other stuff? It's not actually a wheel (it's spring-loaded, so you just push it in either direction), just made to look like it. I don't use it much, but it can be mapped to other mouse functions. Edit: Here's what it can do... Document Flip, Zoom, Volume, Media, Thumb Scroll, Multiple Keystrokes (has 3 text boxes, one for each direction - forward, back, and pressed)
iLjaG
Got my xmas present from Heartless today. Thing is a beast. Didn't know what thread to put this in, so here it goes. Discuss.
TheMightyEthan
Logitech G500. Bought it a couple weeks ago. Like Dean's, it has adjustable weights. I got it because as I got back into PC gaming more I started to encounter games that had more functions than I could comfortably/quickly use on the keyboard, and this mouse has 3 thumb buttons which are fantastic for that. Also can store 5 user-set sensitivities, so I can adjust it for different tasks.
