Deus Ex

I'd say the physics need work; when he uses the grenade launcher, the concussive force seems very last gen. Some of the character animations are a bit clunky -- such as when the enemies die or attack.

Or maybe it all just seems assy compared to the gorgeous cutscenes

So i just watched that gameplay video Dean posted...

I sure as hell hope that regeneration was due to an augmentation. A very expensive one. One that you can't get at the beginning of the game.

according to one of the devs there's something like a 7 second delay on when regen starts on hard mode and it takes nearly 30 seconds to fill your health. he posted very exact numbers on a forum but i cant remember where i saw the post.

Yeah, it seems to be pretty common practice for devs to model a character after a member of their team.

A few years ago, a friend of mine went to a school that specializes in video games related stuff like 3D and graphics design and whatnot, and one of his teachers, a guy who had previously worked at Ubisoft, was a dead ringer for Sam Fisher.

tbh I expected something a bit different at the end.

Like the football hitting the kid so hard he goes sailing over the field?

Great minds think alike.

Though I was thinking it going through the kid or something.

As has been widely reported, for example, the feature that highlights items of note wherever Jensen roams has been made optional – but on top of that, leaping into cover can now be a toggle rather than a continually pressed button

I dunno, I'm more used to it being a continually pressed button thanks to SC: Conviction and Vegas 2. When I imagine it being a toggle, I think of it as being space-bar-toggle a-la Gears of War PC. Probably wouldn't work as you can jump in Deus Ex (unless I'm horribly wrong and they eliminated jumping from HR).

But hottie, you know as gamers we must complain any time the devs decide to add an option to play a different way than we like. Who cares that it's not mandatory? The fact that it's there means I HAVE to use it, and I hate it!

/sarcasm

*Edit* - Not mocking the people in this thread, who are not being crazy, I'm mocking people in the larger "gaming community" who are completely insane.

Any positive press on this game makes me very happy. I so desperately want this game to be good.

The original Deus Ex was what I thought was a glimpse at the future of gaming. A world where genres were less defined. I hope this game continues in that tradition.

Holy shit.

I am ridiculous excite.

EDIT: Wtf, the 'last page' option didn't actually take me to the last page, so I thought I was posting something fresh and new D= what an article though. This game just went to 'looks good' to 'I'm fucking buying this thing'

Plus: Damn straight on RPS being amazing! I got an interview with Kieron Gillen back at Kapow Comic Con, on writing games journalism and writing comics- but I haven't had a chance to write it up yet :(

This is interesting: the guys at PC Gamer are doing three separate run-throughs, each based on a different character type, of the first ten hours of Human Revolution and writing up their impressions on each experience. Should be cool. They are also very enthusiastic about the game, much like RPS.

This made me happy:
