Meh, it was still far enough that I'm not too bothered. Besides, getting both XCOM 2 and Mankind Divided right around mid-semester would not have ended well for me. I don't need that shit on my last semester, I need to graduate this year!

That being said, that seems like a pretty long delay, though. Makes you wonder what kind of state the game was in. I hope the Paris attacks have nothing to do with it. Delaying/changing media content because of real world events just seems kind of idiotic to me... Although, it would be kind of "funny" if the game coincidentally featured some kind of attack in Paris considering what happened with the original.

In the original Deus Ex the skybox didn't include the twin towers in the NYC skyline, the in-game explanation being they'd been destroyed by terrorists some time before. The game came out a year before 9/11. What many folks tend to forget is 9/11 wasn't the only time there was a terrorist attack on the twin towers attempting to knock them down.

The skyline in the NYC area is missing the World Trade Center, because of memory limitations iirc. There's a conversation or datalog that mentions a terrorist attack taking it down. Deus Ex came out in 2000.

edit: DAMNIT, DEAN!

Honestly, IW was godawful in every possible way compared to the original but as its own thing it was kind of alright. I enjoyed what I played of it, I would've finished it if only it wasn't so fucking buggy. I got about halfway through it and then out of nowhere some retarded kid NPCs decided I was a big bad man and started running around like a bunch of assholes instead of letting me talk to them. So I got locked out of completing that quest how I wanted to, which pissed me off and made me quit the game for good.

I tried going back to it but these days it seems the game likes to completely minimize itself and return you to the desktop for a solid few seconds every single time it needs to load the next area, which is some of the most insanely immersion-breaking shit I've ever experienced. Actually, you know what, I take it back. IW isn't alright at all! It's a piece of fucking garbage!
