Amazing articles. I can't wait.

'One of the most substantial sidequests in Detroit comes from a prostitute on Derelict Row who claims to know you. “Jensen, over here!” She says as you walk past. I walk over and slam my robot fist into her face. Everyone screams.'

I laughed so. Fucking. Hard.

Review code? Isn't the game coming out in like august? Seems a bit early for reviews.

I mean, why wouldn't they wanna use the next 2-3 months to polish it as much as they can?

Also, am downloading it as well. Normally, I wouldn't. But in this case I can't help myself B)

So I played some of the preview.

There's definitely a ton of bugs and it has 360 pad instructions everywhere (pretty much forcing me to use the 360 pad or test each of my buttons to see what it does)

(one bug for example means that the subtitles on the in-game help videos are just random subtitles unrelated)

It looks quite nice, though maybe a bit too crisp. The VA for the main dude is doing his best Keanu Reeves impression which just seems a tad crap.

The controls however are a bit crappy, especially the whole stealth stuff. You have to hold or tap (A) to move around. This kinda fucks up a bit since it can be very slow moving around and quite often if you're spotted you're fucked cos you can't move around cover quick enough.

Also at the start of the first main mission you get asked a few questions n such that kinda define your inventory, in my case I ended up with a silenced dart gun n 9 darts. I picked up a pistol too but no idea how to equip it, can't check the menu to see the control scheme. So when I was in a confrontation all I had was either a tranq gun or running up to them, hopping I survive n then punch them.

Oh in your internal menu you also have a map which is kinda nice, lets you plan where you're going.

It's decent, but they need to majorly revamp the stealth elements or going by Stealth as opposed to all out is the "hard" option if only because of wonky controls.

Now that's strange. I finished the preview, and had absolutely no problems with stealth or controls. In fact I've completed it without killing anyone, except necessary boss at the end. On "Deus Ex" difficulty, of course.

True on the early review thing. Although I'd argue that the game is obviously pretty complete, judging by what people said from the preview code and how much the release delay will have helped; and that the hardest audience to win over is the PC-using original-Deus Ex-loving fanbase, who are probably who the devs want to gain trust from the most. That may be another reason they gave PCGUK an early review. Because they can; and because they need that fanbase.

In general, though, you're probably right.

IGN haven't put up the PC review yet because apparently they didn't get the final build and instead got an earlier buggy one for some reason.

I'm not sure how that stopped them from copy-pasting the same review across all three platforms like they usually do, but whatever.

What bugs me is, 1) why the hell didn't they get the final/gold build? and 2) did anyone else get it?
