Vargras
Just beat it. I picked Darrow's message - curious to see what ending other folks end up picking. Also, sit through the credits - special surprise at the end. Edited August 26, 2011 by Vargras
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
I need help. I'm stuck in a room, and there's these two robos out to kill me. I need to shut them both down to progress, so I climb to the top of this area, and when I hack the computer, next to the bots it just says "Access Denied". HOW THE HELL DO I GET PAST THIS THING? Pirandello
So, several things this time around: I finally beat the game. I actually sort of expected more to the ending, more so in actually wanting to know what happens to Jensen after you send the message. Fairly lackluster in that. Also, the secret Bob Page post-credit ending. I was actually expecting to see Walton Simons or Joseph Manderley in there, but was disappointed. On top of that, the last boss battle was WAY too easy compared to all the previous ones. I had the Plasma Rifle with plentiful ammunition for it. My standard method of destroying the Hyron system was opening the doors manually using the buttons, retreat using cloak, and then unloading plasma on them. I found that it worked all too well. Afterwards, I just hid on the fence and blew up the security bots with more plasma and then proceeded to unload bullets into Zhao. Boom. Easiest boss battle in the entire game. Yeah, I was hoping to see if Adam and Megan patched things up, as well as some other things. I did die fairly often on the last boss, but that was mostly me derping around trying to hack stuff and not really paying attention to what was electrified and what wasn't. I think, based on your number of knockouts as opposed to kills, the dialogue might change slightly in the endings. My Jensen kept talking about keeping his humanity and morality, and not really abusing his power. I'm also sad to admit that I couldn't use my 10mm towards the end. After you get past the mid-point of the game, ammo for it becomes more and more rare, and I eventually ran out entirely. Mal
I just started. My my, pretty game. I almost feel like I'm part of Section 9 or at least, run into the Major. Also, I'm trying to be stealthy but seems like I'm holding down Q for a bit too long... Yeah, a real quick tap is all you need. Takedowns and the tranq gun are your best buddies (stun-gun too, to a lesser extent).
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Got past the part I was stuck on. Man, this game is dropping truth bombs like it's World War III! Reading the e-mails is so much fun.

Hot Heart
Oh, my word. I am the worst at stealth. Fortunately, my bumbling mistakes worked in my favour. TWICE! Also, I am silver-tongued.
toxicitizen
A friend of mine knows some people in the local (Montreal) industry, and apparently because they were over-budget and behind schedule, Eidos Montreal's fate depends on how well Human Revolution sells If sales aren't satisfying, they are closing. I know that's just how business works, but still... with the reviews the game is getting, I can't help but feel like Square Enix is missing the big picture here... Killing an obviously talented western studio that didn't sell as well as hoped might make sense in the immediate future, but it seems like looking ahead it's more likely to go up than down if they just stick with it regardless of sales. Hot Heart
I think my proudest moment was when I tried to take a guard out at a distance with a tranq dart but missed. He started looking to see what it was, thus disrupting his normal patrol route, allowing me to sneak past once the other guard had moved. Great success! I've thrown stuff around so that a guard would walk over and investigate - and isolate himself from the others. Easy takedown is easy. Waldorf and Statler
I am loving the game, but sometimes the guards seem just as bad as Splinter Cell guards. Hey was the light in that room turned on earlier? There is only one possible explanation, Sam Fisher! Sound the alarm! I get that the AI can't be stupid, but if I'm standing like 2 blocks behind you and you hear a sound, it doesn't automatically mean you should sound the god damn alarm. For the most part the game doesn't do this often and I've been able to sneak past the majority of the game. I already know I'm not getting the "never get caught" or the "never kill someone" achievement since I made one irreversible mistake for the both of them at some point and starting a new game for those achievements is not worth it. Also I am glad I didn't take a certain thing that's offered to you as I've read it only makes matters worse in a later area.
Enervation
Something that's been annoying me these past few days... Everyone keeps referring to Human Revolution as just "Deus Ex." While I can see how people would say that, a lot of people apparently don't realize that Human Revolution is actually the third game in the Deus Ex line (not chronologically) which annoys the crap outta me when people talk about it. You played which one? The original? Invisible War? Or Human Revolution? EDIT: spelling. Edited August 29, 2011 by Enervation
excel_excel
That annoys me too seeing as I'm playing through the original. which should just be called Deus Ex. Edited August 29, 2011 by excel_excel
Waldorf and Statler
I call it Deus Ex because I'm lazy and can't write Deus Ex HR.
Pirandello
In all my references for the game, I just simply shorten it to DXHR. Makes sense anyways since there's practically only this game that can use it as an acronym.
deanb
So been playing through this. And it's pretty damn amazing. Certainly living up to the first game. I was afraid that when making a second Deus Ex they'd screw it up. Oh and for all our fears as put here it is a pretty damn fine PC port. Right down to numpads being tied to the numpads on our keyboards. Hey a game that uses the controls we have as PC gamers. It looks pretty nice (even if it's showing my 9600GT's age). It's not open-world as such, but it's all the richer for it. I love just going around and hacking pretty much everything (down to the point where I had later missions and could just waltz on through since I practically owned the building already) It did lead me to a point where my exploration ended up putting me right into a mission I wasn't planning to do at the time and I didn't know my way back so had a handy time fighting my way out of the way I assume I was meant to come in. I also like a game that rewards you for paying attention (i.e when NPCs are talking of back entrances, or you get a pocket secretary with the codes on) Currently my build is very much a stealth build with quite a bit of hacking going on. I do enjoy clearing out an area by hacking turrets. I got the wall punch a bit later on that I'm now liking. It could have been handy early on given how good it's been since I got it. So I recommend wall punching. The Parachute too. I still don't have it but I'm feeling there's a few times where it would have been good too. Hot Heart
I've spent 90% of my time so far (only on the second main mission, mind) crawling through vents and hacking. It has been OK. I want to start trying lethal approaches but I don't feel my current targets are deserving of termination via such 'extreme prejudice'. Yantelope
I started blowing everyone away after I can't knock people out. It's fun. Also: if they ever make a stealth game without ventilation ducts we're all screwed.
Hot Heart
"Oh, Mr. Jensen, I'm not even sure you're meant to be he...oh, you're gonna go crawl in that vent? OK" Also, Edited August 29, 2011 by Hot Heart
Maritan
Holy Shit, just finished pacifist walkthrough without alarms on "give me Deus Ex". This game is awesome. Saving Malik without killing anyone was HARD.
Mal
I just been walking up to people, groups even, tranquilizing one or two then knock the other person out. Of course... I screw up a few times since I didn't recon the place well enough. So yeah, suicidal stealth tactics. Vents? Blah! I have only been finding them after I knocked everyone out.
