Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
I'm on the third boss. I beat the second boss because she got stuck in a corner, forever running into one of the electrical outlets. I just kept shooting her until she died. I don't think I'll be as lucky this time around, especially since I did something I shouldn't have earlier on, and then throughout this level you learn details about the stupid thing you did and you're like "FUCK, I'm going to get boned soon, aren't I?" Hocking
Absolutely loving this game. Still on my first play through at just over 26 hours. I've been spending as much time as possible exploring every available area of the game. I'm really enjoying being able to go anywhere and do anything within the city hubs. I'm quite amused that it's possible to deal with hostiles that are in certain places for the sake of some side missions before they actually begin. Most of them I've able to step over all the unconscious characters that I had knocked out while exploring and simply complete the objective and then gleefully skip back to the quest giver with nary a problem - it's hilarious. I too am currently sporting the 10mm Pistol with all the snazzy upgrades. I had up until a certain point been avoiding killing anyone, I was strictly tranq, stun-gun and knock-outs for every hostile. I had held onto the 10mm and Combat Rifle along with several stacks of ammo for both just in case however. When the head of Tai Yong Medical sets off the alarm after Hengsha 1 and the room fills with heavily armed Belltower guards - I decided lethal force was justifiable. Leaping over the balconies, lobbing a gas grenade and popping helmets with the 10mm in the panic all the while heading to the elevator was an astounding experience. Possibly one of my favourite moments in gaming this year. I'm still taking the stealth approach for the most part though. I'll tranq and knock-out to a point. When it seems like I'm going to be wasting a lot of valuable ammo doing this however, I start popping heads. I'm really interested that the game offers you both choices and makes them equally viable in a given situation and that you have so much choice over how you get the job done. I'm also really digging that certain decisions actually carry weight or feel like they've made a difference. Alpha Protocol was a massive let down in this regard. All that hype about making decisions and actions with consequences that ended up being rather whimsical. Having purposefully ignored all press relating to DE:HR I'm ecstatic that it's turned out to be the game that I had imagined Alpha Protocol would be. Hocking
Oh don't get me wrong, I did too. Rather, it didn't live up to my own expectations of what the game was going to be based upon the way it was marketed.
Waldorf and Statler
In that case I agree with you. But I've learned to lower my standards when it comes to Obsidian. Fallout New Vegas may have been fun but I felt that Fallout 3 was better. They just a have a knack for making sequels to established western rpg's so when they had a chance to make a brand new IP it didn't surprise me that it had its share of fuck-ups
Hocking
Couldn't have said it better myself, pretty much exactly how I feel about Obsidian and New Vegas.
Hot Heart
I have noticed a few minor bugs in the game. Very occasionally the character won't take cover. I know it's not that you just can't cover on certain sections because I've reloaded and redone bits to see it work then. Just today, I'm finding that the 'Use' prompt is not always appearing on a few things and I can't seem to grab anything out of lockers, along with the prompt not showing. Hopefully that is just restricted to this part of the game, or will have fixed itself the next time I load up the game.
Hocking
I save like mad in most games, I have twelve saves going for this including the two auto slots, so fortunately I've been able to re-load whenever Jenson decides he doesn't like a particular piece of cover. It's gotten me spotted a few times while trying to ninja my way around or resulted in an alarm being sounded once or twice. The more frustrating ones I've found are when you rush to a particular cover and Jenson sticks to the surface next to the one that was intended. That's gotten me killed three times. Not sure if we've had the same problem with lockers, but I sometimes find that items can only be picked up from a certain angle. On the odd occasion I have to dance around a bit in front of a locker before an item will let me pick it up. Crouching to pick things up seems to help sometimes. On the odd occasion I have to dance around a bit in front of a locker before an item will let me pick it up. Crouching to pick things up seems to help sometimes. I know it's a bit finicky with where you have to be to grab things from, but this is really finicky and even opening the locker wasn't showing the usual prompt. Plus, a lever for deactivating a loose electrical wire did not display the 'Use' and took a hammering of the E key before it worked. Unfortunately, crouching is not an option when the locker item is on the upper shelf. Means I might have to miss an energy bar (never actually used more than one cell at any given time) and some credits. Just hope this bug doesn't cause problems at critical moments... I have also been saving like mad though. Definitely would not have stuck with this game if it didn't have quicksave/quickload.
deanb
Just hit the first boss. Raaaage. I'm on my second playthrough. I now realise that the remote mines are a pre-order incentive tossed in with the pirated version. (fingers crossed for Witcher 2 style updates where pre-order incentives get patched in) So I apologise to Hot heart on that aspect. Still even without those I found it a piece of piss with an assault rifle just firing on him as he comes down through the pillars and running away when he gets close. I am missing the pre-order silent sniper rifle. Didn't realise the normal one doesn't allow mufflers. (Why they're called mufflers and not silencers I dunno. IRL they're called mufflers/suppressors cos that's what they do. In-game/in-movie ones are silencers cos that's what they do. Deus Ex mufflers silence, not muffle)

deanb
Tell the game that. Anywho for PC players: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=121245 I'm not gonna grab it until my next playthrough, and also on the hope that it doesn't require updating each time a patch hits. There I was sneaking around and hiding and then suddenly I have to just pump bullet after bullet into this guy while he calls me boy scout. deanb
Yes. Turns out there's an achievement. I assumed it was one of those RPG cliches of an impossible fight. But turns out those many retries I did were just me sucking.
Vargras
Third boss was easy as hell for me I just spammed the grenade launcher. Also just beat the game with Sarrif's ending cause fuck nature. Jeez, thanks for the spoilers. Also, speaking of... Is there any way to save YOU KNOW WHO? It's possible. The chopper with Faridah in it doesn't have a health bar per se, but rather a counter for how many more hits it can take before you "fail" the hidden achievement. If you go for it, take out the heavy gunners and the robot first, then everyone else. Save the snipers for last. If you can't kill them quickly enough, just get them to switch their attention over to you.
Hocking
Is there any way to save YOU KNOW WHO? I kept re-loading until I managed to pull it off. If you have just the 10mm, you're pretty much screwed. It takes too long to line up a head shot. The easiest weapon for this is probably the combat rifle because you can spray to a certain degree. The most important part of managing to save the day is not staying behind cover where you start off - the heavies are at such a range that you'll do very little damage to them and you need to take them out as quickly as possible. First thing to do is jump down to the right hand side of the starting point and stay on the ground level under the concrete structure. Focus all of your efforts on taking out the heavies before worrying about any other hostiles. Although you might be able to deal with the two guys on the far left without much trouble - one is next to an explosive barrel and another runs out in the open to reach cover. The heavies however do enough damage on their own to destroy the VTOL without triggering the next problem. If you manage to keep their attention long enough or manage to kill them, your immediate problem is going to be a heavy mech. This becomes a problem less so because of the difficulty in destroying them (a single EMP grenade or a few shots from the revolver with the explosive upgrade will do the trick) but because you have to keep the attention of the mech without getting killed by the remaining Belltower grunts. One option, if you don't have an EMP grenade, is to run up the stairs off to the right of the elevator and take out the Belltower grunts and hope the mech doesn't blow up the VTOL while you're doing this. Once they're dead and unable to come up behind you while you're dealing with the mech - you shouldn't have much trouble keeping it's attention while shooting at it from cover. When the everything except Jenson and the VTOL is dead, it will leave the area unscathed.
Pirandello
For me... I was armed with a totally pimping 10mm pistol only, along with a bunch of non-lethal weapons. The PEPS was especially effective in both drawing their attention and stunning them, especially on the soldiers located on the higher floors. I had an armory's worth of mines and grenades by this time, so I just simply deployed some gas and an EMP on the bottom floor to easily clear them out. Then I just proceeded to finish off the soldiers on the higher floors, mostly with a combination of grenades/stun gun/takedowns. I was using my stealth ability this whole time, mostly to deploy mines and run back to cover, etc. I had quite a few energy restoration items on hand, so that helped a lot, too. The tranquilizer rifle I found to be mostly useless except against the snipers. It's not hard to do it purely non-lethal, you just have to be really fast, much more faster than you normally would with lethal weapons. Mines are your friends in this situation due to their increased blast radius and effectiveness.
Johnny
So I completed the game: My main complaint is that nearly everyone in the story is retarded and for the majority of the main quest you get to choose between two really fucking bad ways to handle situations. Why the hell does Human Revolution refuse to give me any grey tones or middle grounds?

Hocking
This. At first I thought it was impossible, but then... That is outstanding, how did you do it? Video is hilarious, I have to admit that I've been wondering how the game would've played out without the DLC in question. Little bit of a plot hole without it. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Glad to hear that it's possible. That's exactly like the first game; they set you up in a situation where you think, "Eh, this guy's a goner", but if you decide NAH FUCK THIS you can save them.
