TheRevanchist
And, Apple is getting sued from a different angle: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57536889-37/apple-sued-over-deal-locking-iphone-to-at-t-network/ The stock value of Apple is falling, as we expected to happen without proper leadership and technology push. It's not doomsday, but the aura of Jobs seems to have vanished, and the company is weakening.
Mister Jack
As if Jobs wouldn't have also put out that piece of shit iPad mini.

Mister Jack
"Apple TV" I pick both.
TheRevanchist
Under Jobs, they put out a good product that used innovative thought. For instance, the iPad Mini would have come out, but it would have more tech built into it. Apple products are viewed as premium products, not like a typical HP computer with large flaws in design. With the iPad Mini, there is no premium product. It's to compete directly with Samsung and Amazon on their level.
Eleven
What? The Apple TV is really quite useful if you're in the ecosystem... With match and movie rentals and home library streaming and airplay...
Mister Jack
Well to be honest I really wanted to say the iPad. Screw that dumbass thing.

Mister Jack
But getting back to Apple TV, when it was first released it was nowhere near capable of what it does today. They redesigned it to be more like a DVR, but when it first dropped it most certainly was a piece of crap.
Faiblesse Des Sens
The iPhone was shit at first, too, but these products all had to start somewhere. That's the key difference here that Rev is bringing up: Apple didn't innovate shit this time around. They're just reacting.
Mister Jack
Well if we're talking about innovation I'm going back to the iPad. Jobs was alive and well when they decided making the iPhone bigger was a revolutionary idea.
TheRevanchist
Alive, yes. But, Jobs had been very sick the last 2 years, leaving the company rather untended by him. No one was even truly sure he would be at that last press conference he attended, if I remember correctly.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Well if we're talking about innovation I'm going back to the iPad. Jobs was alive and well when they decided making the iPhone bigger was a revolutionary idea. No one else at the time had put out a product that was the same quality and was as easy to use. I can't believe I'm having this conversation and people like you still exist.
madbassman39
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-31747_7-57537541-243/ipad-mini-vs-google-nexus-7-vs-amazon-kindle-fire-hd/ Looking at the competition, the iPad mini seems a bit over priced. Unless that A5 processor is blazingly amazing, it just doesn't seem to match either the Kindle Fire HD or the Nexus 7 for bang for your buck. I guess the bigger screen would cost some extra cash, but it has a lower resolution than the smaller screens. Either way, I'm a Kindle fanboy so I wasn't really going to look at the iPad Mini, I am just surprised to see iPad mini to be so non-competitive.
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah if I HAD to get a tablet, it'd probaby be the Kindle Fire HD with the google store somehow hacked into it.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Yeah if I HAD to get a tablet, it'd probaby be the Kindle Fire HD Amazon agrees and puts that right on the front page. http://www.amazon.com/ Edited October 29, 2012 by Faiblesse Des Sens

TheMightyEthan
I was looking at that Amazon ad this morning, and while the Fire obviously has better features than the iPad Mini the iPad's form-factor is prettier.
Waldorf and Statler
Eh. I'd go with Asus' or Amazon's tablet anyday. I prefer being able to customize than having a tablet whose two major benefits are 1. More Apps [not like I've ever noticed with all the apps in the Google store] 2. OH EM GEE U HAVE AN IPAD ME TOO LET'S FUCK
TheMightyEthan
Is iPad sex a thing that happens? Cause that makes it much more enticing...
Waldorf and Statler
Well all I know is this: Every girl I know has it, they use it very often when they're pissed at someone or moody in general, and it has pad in its name. Evidence proves that iPads are a guy's best friend to not deal with angry ladies.

deanb
Was gonna post about this, guess it answered my question of whether or not they're in contempt of court. That won't put Apple on the right side of judges for a while. Though I've a feeling after this they won't touch UK courts of their own will for some time.
