Oliver North is being used to market the game. This is the first legitimate time I can say this with full confidence; Fuck you, Activision. Of course you'd use a war criminal to sell your game. At least they got him talking about the subject he's most fluent in, fear. After all, fear is his business, the business of creating false wars and glorifying combat to profit off the deaths of millions and destruction of countries.

I think the greatest thing about the ACLU is that they'll defend anyone's rights, regardless of how terrible the person is. I don't see what that has to do with Activision using him as a spokesperson for the game, that's just a shitty decision on their part.

The ACLU is really a discussion for the US Politics thread though if it's going to go any further than this.

I'm sure you won't be alone in that. It's the first CoD that has piqued my interest since CoD:4 MW, but I'm not gonna day one it. Suckers gonna suck? :)

What's so special about it? It will be the same as previous CoDs with minimal deviations. I just hope the map design will be better than in blops.

"pilotable vehicles and branching, non-linear storyline." Seem to be more than minor deviations from the formula of follow man, shoot other mans + on rails vehicle stuff.

Who believes press releases in 2012? It would be nice to have some changes, though.

On the other hand, treyarch/IW usually promise CoD and deliver CoD, unlike DICE, who promised BF3 and delivered glitchy unplayable shit.

Same here, Ethan. With the exception of co-op, COD interests me solely for the singleplayer.

Coop in mw2 and mw3 was great. Completing everything on veteran is soooooo satisfying.

Heh, it was just about a month or two ago that we finally beat the last Veteran mission on co-op. The accursed one in the snow with one player in the AC-130 Gunship and the other on the ground... holy moly it was ridiculous.

Anyway here's a little vid I did the script for on some of the stuff we know from the BO2 trailer:

So their subscriptions are on the rise. Whoopedy do. Subscriptions are sold only by the year so until November the only thing they can possibly do is rise. Lets see what happens when all the people like me who bought the Hardened Edition of MW3 don't renew.

I know it's marketing, so grain of salt and all that, but these Overwatch missions sound really cool. I'd consider buying it at launch if I was convinced singleplayer would be beefy enough to justify it.

Yeah, I loved MW3's singleplayer campaign, but if I had to pay cash monies for it I would have been disappointed at the value. Though I guess two runs through (one on Hardened, one on Veteran) plus the 30 hours I put into co-op and 5 hours of adversarial wouldn't have been too bad of a deal for $60. Sadly there's no Spec Ops for BO2.
