Maritan
I'm gonna buy it for PC and probably won't use elite much. Edited September 7, 2011 by Maritan
P4: Gritty Reboot
I got the 360 Hardened Edition from the Expo, but I am thinking of trying to return/trade it in somewhere for a PC version.

staySICK
I preordered the 360 hardened edition, too. I'm such a sucker.
Thursday Next
I wish my teammates even cared about their K/D ratio. A lot of times my friend and I will get on and realize we're the only positive people in the game let alone the only ones attempting to get the objective. Â This is why I never play CoD. I couldn't care less about my K/D, I know most people who play it do, so I steer clear.
MasterDex
I wish my teammates even cared about their K/D ratio. A lot of times my friend and I will get on and realize we're the only positive people in the game let alone the only ones attempting to get the objective. Â This is why I never play CoD. I couldn't care less about my K/D, I know most people who play it do, so I steer clear. Â While I'm with you for the most part, I do think that with CoD and other games that have straight-forward deathmatches and TDM's, K/D is an important statistic. Sure, if you're going 20-0 because you've been corner camping then it's stupid to hold your hand up and say "Look at me! I really helped us win. I'm so leet!". However, if you've been legging it all over the map, following the flow of the action and come out with something like 40-20 then I think it's ok to say "Hey guys, I think I won this game for us." Â NB: I didn't want to go too crazy with the numbers there but I know how high they can get in some rounds so don't read too much into the numbers given. Yantelope
The other reason why a K/D is imporatant in objective based games is if you're not killing people who are defending bomb sites or killing people who are protecting flags then it's much much harder to take the objective. It's not an end all stat for sure but one of the better metrics. My pet peeve is if someone goes 20-40 in TDM. Nobody cares about your 20 kills if you cost the team 40. You're either a boon to a team or a detriment.
Thursday Next
Yeah, I don't really like DM. Conquest / Rush all the way. Â EDIT: Just to make this more on topic. I find that even in CoD objective modes, everyone plays like it's a DM anyway. Hence why I don't play CoD. Yantelope
Truth be told, I play in matches like Demolition and Headquarters but I spend most of my time trying to get kills. I don't camp but you find far fewer campers in those modes so they're much more enjoyable to me. My global K/D ratio is 1.58 and that's a thing of pride for me. Thursday Next
My BFBC2 K/D is 0.85, my W/L is 1.34. Pretty much confirms in numbers what I said above.
Yantelope
Yeah, and can't you get a lot of points and things in BFBC2 without actually killing people? It's just a much different type of game.
MasterDex
Yeah, and can't you get a lot of points and things in BFBC2 without actually killing people? It's just a much different type of game. Â Exactly. As the two biggest FPS competitors on consoles, the series' get compared a lot but they cater to two different styles - Battlefield for Teamwork and CoD for Rambo-style madness. Personally, I enjoy both styles, though I favour BF's style. If I'm out for blood, I'll be playing CoD however. Â Oh and since we're comparing our e-peens, my BC2 K/D is 1.17, maining assault (playing the class as it should be played) and my W/L ratio is 1.33. Yantelope
Yeah, my W/L ratio in all COD games has always been almost exactly 1. I guess I'm a total non-factor. That being said, whenever I did play with a group of other players in a team we pretty much steamrolled everyone. If I were more single I'd consider joining a real clan. Actually, that's the essence of why I play COD. If you're playing a game like Battlefield without friends then your chances of winning aren't great and you're pretty much screwed if you go against a team that works together. I'm basing this off Battlefield 2 which is the last BF game I played a lot. I rarely have the time to schedule all my friends together to play a game and as such I'm much more self focused when I play online. If I go for wins I just end up getting really pissed off at incompetent teammates. Â I was going to try to find my W/L on Halo Reach. My K/D in TDM is 1.56 and my 1st Place % is 62.3%. Not sure if 1st place = winning team or actually 1st in kills (fairly sure that's the win %). I consider myself a team player in Halo because I spend most of my time helping teammates and finishing off kills. That's the only way to win at Halo. Maritan
Speaking of stats, here's mine from MW2(I don't like blops, so I don't play it) And my stats from BFBC2 - http://bfbc2.statsve...ats/pc/Maritan/ (W/L ratio 3.7 and rising) I was dying a lot in both games at first, but nowadays I lose approximately 1 match out of 10 in bfbc2 and mw2(latest win streak 42). My advice is to play with friends, because coordination is everything. Here's what me and my friends do when we play BFBC2 together. Yes, that's the enemy spawn point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YqKGe-R6es&feature=youtu.be

MasterDex
If ya did that on my old server, I'd have banned ya right quick. I'd have to, it's the biggest killer of servers aside from hackers.
Maritan
If ya did that on my old server, I'd have banned ya right quick. I'd have to, it's the biggest killer of servers aside from hackers. Not really. Here's my mates' server. We have no rules, excelent ping, and constant flow of people. When we rape the shit out of them, another wave takes their place. Banning people for playing the game better than the others is gay. Very Gay. I only ban people for using cheats, etc. Hell, even racism and all that shit is allowed, and the server is still among the most popular in the internet. We'll close it soon, though, need to buy server for BF3.
Yantelope
I wouldn't describe spawn camping as "playing the game better than others".
Maritan
I wouldn't describe spawn camping as "playing the game better than others". You obviously have no idea how much teamwork is needed to organize a baserape in BFBC2. You need to capture all 3(4) bases on the map, defend them successfully and then attack enemy base ASAP. Now tell me that THAT does not require skill. And as the saying goes, "the weak deserve their fate". It's not my fucking fault that people choose to sit in the bushes as recons and do nothing for their team, and I'm not gonna stand and watch them capturing MY points. THAT is a real teamplay, when you DESTROY your enemy. The same goes for idiots who don't capture points in Domination in Call Of Duty games. Yantelope
Meh, I think that's part of what I don't care for in BFBC2. A good game wouldn't keep spawning you in the same place. Anyway, spawn camping is lame no matter how hard it is to pull off.

Yantelope
Well if you like shooting helpless people why not just boot a lot of empty player spots and shoot them? There's nothing sporting about spawn caming. It's just a different form of grieving.
Mal
Guys... no need to go at each other throats... go settle it by combat. Â Personally, I tend to try to break those base rapes instead of quitting. Its not impossible, just hard as fuck. When I and the rest of the team manage to, it is a great moment... Also, Maritan, your friends might as well just start a new round after five minutes of spawn raping. I just don't see how it is fun to do that for much longer than that. Now actually pulling it off... it pretty damn sweet.
Maritan
Well if you like shooting helpless people why not just boot a lot of empty player spots and shoot them? There's nothing sporting about spawn caming. It's just a different form of grieving. Then what should I do? Let them win? Should I just stand still and let them kill me? As I've said before, it's not my problem that people don't know how to play the game. When people lock me in my base in DoWII: Retribution(I'm horrible at RTS in MP) I don't complain, because I know that it's my fault, and I don't whine. Maritan, your friends might as well just start a new round after five minutes of spawn raping. I just don't see how it is fun to do that for much longer than that. Old people leave from the server, new people come. If they are skilled - good, we have a challenge. I just think that using every possibility that offers you a game(except spam, maybe) to win is what multiplayer is about. Yeah, you can call me a dick, douche, or whatever you want, I don't mind and I won't be offended. Â PS: Maybe I sound too agressive, that's probably because my English isn't too good and I can't find the right words.
