Mister Jack
I need a gamepad to use with a PC, but I'm not sure what to go with. I don't care to use the 360 controller because of the Dpad and I simply cannot get a ps3 controller to work no matter what I try, so I'm going to start looking at dedicated pc pads. Problem is I have no idea where to begin or who to go with. It needs to be able to play next-gen games, meaning I need analog sticks and triggers and all that. I also need a decent D-pad. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Faiblesse Des Sens
PS3 won't work with MotionInJoy via USB? What's your OS? Also, how are you testing it? Edited March 1, 2011 by Faiblesse Des Sens
Mister Jack
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. I'm using the control panel to test it. It recognizes the buttons, including R3 and L3, but it doesn't vibrate and it doesn't recognize the analog movement. I can live without the former, but not the latter. Faiblesse Des Sens
Newest version of MotionInJoy? 6.0003 (signature) Tried it in xbox 360 emulator mode? Are you clicking "enable" first? Followed the instructions correctly under the "driver manager" tab? Your mappings are correct? I'm on win7 x64 as well and using a dualshock and never had many problems besides getting the order wrong for enabling it and crap like that which has all seem to go away with the signed version of MotionInJoy anyways. I even remember the days before vibration worked! Edit: What does this look like for you? Edited March 1, 2011 by Faiblesse Des Sens
Mister Jack
I tried everything suggested to me and even some things that weren't and it still didn't work.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Have you restarted your computer? Also, does it say that the driver is loaded on the screen I posted?

Faiblesse Des Sens
Hmmm... I'm out of ideas (besides closing the app completely and re-opening? though I'm sure you've already tried. also unplugging/re-plugging in the controller on the controllers side). It's never been too much of an issue for me even back before it was unsigned. It was just a matter of making sure the driver was enabled, then pressing the "enable" button a bunch of times with the controller plugged in and stuff like that. In the profiles section, does this bar constantly move? cuz it should
Mister Jack
It's just solid and full.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Well that's something. It shouldn't be. This probably sounds like a hassle, but what about doing a complete re-install and not bothering with bluetooth from the get go and just doing pure USB? The problem might be from switching between an incompatible bluetooth and the USB driver. On the driver page there's an "install all" button. Tried that? Also "load driver" on that page. Anyways, yeah, maybe try an uninstall (and that rollback button) if nothing works. After all, I see no reason why it shouldn't work over USB and you shouldn't have to spend money on a new controller. Mister Jack
I actually don't have bluetooth on this PC.

Bizzenya
Razer came out with a PC compatible 360 gamepad that looks promising and has what looks to be a good D-pad. It isn't out for another month AND the pre-orders are sold out so it may be a while before they are readily available.
TheForgetfulBrain
Shame you can't get the PS3 controller working - it can be a hassle, but it should work eventually, and it works like a dream once you get it going.

I pre-ordered the day pre-orders opened up, so I'm sure to get the first batch of controllers.
-Dex-
Use this yo I payed it about half a 1$. Been using it for years with my PS2 controllers. The rest of the gamepads....pure bullshit. Edited March 2, 2011 by -Dex-
Mister Jack
Interesting. Is it compatible with Windows 7? I tried MotioninJoy again, by the way. Never again. That bastard sticks to your PC like a virus. I had to go into the registry to get rid of it completely.
-Dex-
Interesting. Is it compatible with Windows 7? Yup, it is. Just plug it in your USB port and plug in the PS2/PS1 joypad and you're done. No instalation, no waiting, no configuration, nothing. It just works right away. PS2 joypad >>>> any other specially designed controller for PC
Battra92
I use the Nyko Core Controller. It's a great corded PS3 controller and it works like a charm on the PC. The triggers are actually usable too. www.amzn.com/B003G2Z4FK
TheMightyEthan
PS2 joypad >>>> any other specially designed controller for PC I'll agree with this, and then retort that the 360 pad >>>> PS2 pad. Course, I don't do things that require precision d-pad. If I did, then I would definitely go with either a DS2 or 3 if I could (Battra's link above looks nice too). I should also add that if you use it as a PS3 controller, the rumble is significantly stronger (and IMO better) than that of the DS3. The downside of course is that it's a wired controller.
