Watched the latest — yes Pirandello, the latest — episode of HanaIro.

Man, sometimes Ohana just vexes me. If she doesn't like random cute maiden brushing breasts against Ko's upper arm, she should say how she feels instead of getting all weep-faced wail-boat.

Latest episode of AnoHana was... everything I had been expecting.

1. Menma's still there. Obviously, otherwise it'd be too easy. All that drama for nothing.

2. Yukiatsu still hanging with Anaru yet still disturbingly obsessed with Menma. Loser.

3. Well, the beginning of closure, yeah.

4. I still think the ED is freaking fantastic.

Man, I didn't even know this thread existed.

I used to watch tons of anime when I was younger, but really slowed down/lost interest about half a decade ago.

I still go through the occasional "anime phase", though. Last summer I watched (and REALLY enjoyed) the excellent FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

And, more recently, playing Valkyria Chronicles on PS3 made me want to watch some, so I grabbed the anime based on it. But I didn't want to start watching it until I'd finished the game, so I grabbed Bleach as well. I think the series was around episode 60-something back when I'd stopped watching.

I don't know how long I'll keep watching, but so far I watched about 20 episodes in two days and I'm loving the hell out of it!

I never thought I'd enjoy rewatching Bleach so damn much.

I also grabbed another series I'd been meaning to watch for a long time after someone recommended it to me: Soul Eater. I actually tried watching it last summer, but at the time it was very difficult to find good quality encodes/subs. Lucky for me, I managed to find a decent looking pack this time :)

Agh, my fansub group of choice has been coming up with delays for HanaIro, I need my Ohana doses.

Also since I've been away from my laptop for almost a whole week I've pretty much missed a lot, which is kinda nice when you think about it, dedicate a whole afternoon/night to catching up is always nice.So @Pirandello now has me excited for Ano Hana, but I'm not sure I can take much more, things have been heart twisting lately.

I have been going through those phases as well, this summer my "weeaboo" side has been staying longer and you know what? I Like it.

I also picked up the pace with Brotherhood, although it lost a lot of steam around the end, I hate to be the "OH MY GAWD, THE BOOK WAS SOOO MUCH BETTER" guy, but I had been enjoying the FMA manga a lot more than brotherhood. My biggest Problem with Brotherhood was it's pacing and some of the liberties it took. A new FMA movie should be coming out soon I think, I'm not exactly excited for it.

As for the V.C. anime adaption, good luck FLD. It is definitely NOT for everyone, and personally I think it's what drove the V.C. developers (AM7/Overworks) to go down the "ANIME AS FUCK" kind of style they used for the PSP game, and it seems a third one is upon us. But I digress, if you can deal with some super cliches you'll be fine.

I use HorribleSubs(for HanaIro), Advent Chaos. Give them a try.

Tried 'em once for can't remember what, but all I remember is a bad taste in my mouth. I've been sticking with Underwater (I think it's a joint project with Commie subs) so far and they've been pretty cool, I also stick with them for Nichijou. Then on AnoHana I stick with UTW.

*le-sigh* Maybe I should give them another try. On another project too, but for now I'll stay with Underwater 'til it's over. Actually I could be wrong, but I think my issue with them is on how they "encoded" some releases, I have enough trouble as it is playing some other releases (720p), which is weird because it's the most current anime that gives me trouble, sometime 2 years ago everything played fine on my laptop, not sure why I've been sucking so hard lately. WELP! Time to get a new PC.

Also, your new sig is giving me all kinds of funny feelings and heart attacks.

Really? It was my understanding that Brotherhood was a more accurate adaptation of the manga.

Is that not the case?

And yeah, I agree that it lost some steam in the last stretch. For example, the "final conflict" that lasted like 15 episodes episodes felt like a bit much at times. But considering that I'd been waiting almost a decade to see a proper ending to that series (I'm counting from the start of the first anime), then I found it to be suitably epic in scope.

Again, really? For some reason, I was under the impression that it would be very... similar.

That's kind of why I had downloaded it over a year ago but never watched it because I hadn't finished the game yet and didn't want to "spoil" it.

Ironically, I finished the game last night and now I don't exactly feel the need to re-experience the story right away... so I think I'll just burn the series on a couple of DVD-Rs and forget about it for now

Well there were a few things of brotherhood, mainly I remember watching the first episode, about the Ice alchemist thinking... "Holy shit..." things seemed overpowered, fights were neat and all but I almost expected someone to go super saiyan. That's just me though, afterwards things got a lot better and much sweeter, again some pacing felt REALLY fast and other times it felt like an eternity. All in all it was great, had my issues with it, but not enough to not recommend it. And yes the final showdown was grand in epic scales.

V.C. adaptation was fun, but it gets "anime cliche" at many points. It takes some bigger liberties on the way the story is told, character development also feels much more expanded which is great because in the game I wanted characters to have more interactions and side stories (Edy did get her own DLC so....AWESOME!) and I suppose that those were filled in the anime adaptation. I want to rant more, but I don't want to spoil anything. There's not a lot to spoil though since you've finished the game :P

You did good if you burn 'em up for later viewing, take your time with it.

So last night I had a HanaIro back-to-back feature with the last two episodes.

G'damn that was painful to watch. I don't know what to think of Ko-chan anymore, I knew what Ohana was doing was actually kind of a horrible thing to do, but somehow I still thought they would work things out. Having Ohana not take him back to Kissui Inn was just depressing, she really is the bad guy in all this.

In other news, Tooru is A BOSS! He's rough with the girls, but he knows how to help them. I'm still somewhat concerned over how things handle between him and Minko, but if anything's gonna happen Minko's gotta make the initiative. Tooru has definitely fallen for Ohana's natural charms(who hasn't?).

Overall things have ended in very sour notes and I see happiness way far from their reach, with terrible mother acting like an ass I doubt things are going to get any better, but for the moment I am extremely enjoying this series and if we're really looking into a 26 episodes series then this is gonna be one hell of a ride. STAY TUNED

Meanwhile in TWGOK-land, I'm hot for teacher.

That is all.

Yeah Keima's been more into the girls in his conquest this season, we all know deep down he sometimes wishes that he could actually keep some of the girls he's won over.

Also, when I was younger (7th grade?) I had a crush on my science teacher, I would go to her house and she was awesome. Unfortunately she was married although her kid always wanted me to get into disgaea, but never did since I only had a gamecube back then.

So I just watched the latest episode of AnoHana.

I don't think anything big happened in that episode, but they did set things up for closure, what with Ohana's mom going to Kissuiso and the whole hubbub with Koichi seemingly about to come to closure. Yeah

Also, in TWGOK, I am also hot for teacher. But I haven't seen the end of the arc yet, but will do so today. Sometime today.

Woohoo, just finished the Nagase Arc!

The concept of wooing a teacher is just great, it's not seen very often, but it is on our mind very often. This arc was just fun, the target girl is just pretty and naturally fun. Having the the girl trigger good events consecutively is overwhelming and it could have ended in so many possibilities, but Keima is such a boss he stuck to his guns. Speaking of Keima being a boss, at the wrestling show, see how he did it? He may be a geek but he knows how to handle a woman, I was going to burst if he made her actually sit on his lap, but that may have been way too forward. All things considered, the release of the runaway spirit was rather disappointing, for a second there I thought I wasn't going to get a kiss scene and even though I did it also kinda disappointing... Or maybe it was just me hoping things would get wild with Nagase, but that's never going to happen *sigh*

Well that sure was fun, we got what? 1-3 more episodes?

Is there any new good anime that doesn't have romance in it? I'm just putting that out there because I miss anime and the last new one I watched was House of Five Leaves. It's been a while since then and I sorta gave up when all I saw were bright-haired, tiny girls in school outfits. Oh, and I normally hate school-life anime, too. Any suggestions? And please, no romance.

So, uh... I finished AnoHana (yes, I made sure I'm talking about the right anime this time).

It ended pretty meh. I wasn't pleasantly surprised or anything like that, but it was something expected. The ghost part about Yadomi suddenly not being able to see her was also expected, Menma being a ghost and all and that this generally tends to happen (from my experience, anyways). It was a nice series, just wish we could have gotten a more in-depth "epilogue" about what happened with everyone. Despite all the talk of relationships, they never really bothered to flesh them out.

Also, Poppo cried. That was the only thing that surprised me.

Then the cynic in my head merely looked on with bemused interest as it seemed that everyone (and I mean everyone) had a need for a tissue for their issues. Everyone cried. That literally made me cringe. Perhaps people have trouble trying to move on or let go. I'm not like that (something I learned myself after putting up with years of shit from my generation's "society"), which is why it seems utterly absurd to me that people dwell on issues from the past.
