Saturnine Tenshi
Still watching Chu2, but I also picked up Chihayafuru at the fervent behest of some guy who . . . I don't even know why I listened to him. He's some guy. Anyway, it's good.
Saturnine Tenshi
Posting again to say Chihayafuru is super-marvy. It's centered around the card game, Uta-garuta Karuta, and the female lead, Chihaya. To be brief, it follows her blunders through romance and friendship while managing an obsession with the card game.
Mal
Perfection. I wonder if they'll do the other teams now. I want my British team and then my American!
Saturnine Tenshi
How many episodes are there now? Enough to gauge the series?
Mal
Eight or seven episodes if you don't include the emergency recap episode (5.5). I think this series is only pose to run for 12 episodes so we're half way through but I bet we'll get a second season. There is also a prologue and a parallel manga. The mangas has a slight head started against the anime. So I think there are enough material to gauge the series. Now then, remember... all girls are best girls. Even the ones with the flaws or when there are ones that blows away most other girls. Edit: (Its actually seven episodes currently. Eight if you could the recap) Mussolini-chan (Formerly SS-chan) fight wasn't shown at all! Mal. I Italian curse them all! Though, I wonder what tank they found at the end. ULTRA LATE EDIT: For one reason or another, despite knowing the change in mood, this image may have sold me on the anime. Queuing it up. Mal
So, Chuu2. After seeing two episodes and knowing what little I knew prior about the show. I think I can see where it is going. Its sort of like if there weren't aliens, time travelers, ghosts, demons, espers or evil organizations and the heroes in Haruhi's world. In other words. Just relax and have fun. Most of us had vivid imaginations back in the day, I know I did. I think the main draw of Chuu2 for me is that it reminded me of the time. Fun times. Also, that sister. --- http://kevo.dasaku.net/?p=4950 My thoughts with a massive twist of humor. 「Advent Chaos」
I think we can all agree (or those of us who have been watching) that chuunibyou is hitting... stabbing pretty violently at our emotions with its' latest episodes. Episode 10 man... I went from squealing fangirl to empty husk. I lost it with episode 11... Well one more I guess...
Saturnine Tenshi
I haven't watched the last two episodes. Need to get back on it.
「Advent Chaos」
Well I haven't really talked about it, but other than Chuunibyou, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun is getting pretty high on my top favorites. It usually goes all "Hahaha that was funny." then by the end of the episode "Hee hee.... Ah I'm pretty lonely!" Then again too many things remind me of that. I completely understand why they are pushing the last two episode back. The director want to avoid QUALITY like those found in the current episode. Seriously, it has been pretty good all season long. Hopefully we get season 2 between now and then. Also: Also also: They watched Kelly's Heroes. Edited December 18, 2012 by MaliciousH
CorgiShinobi
Remember back when I said the Tenchi Muyo! OVA would be on Blu-ray/DVD December 18th? Yeah, the time has come. It's going for $40.29, a whomping 42% off the retail price. I've actually decided to not get the OVA series as I did get the DVD collection from 1999 (Used) a year ago. Didn't spend more than $36, and while my collection is a little rough, techincally the Blu-ray format just makes the 4:3 aspect ratio look really good on an HDTV. Serious, I've read that at times you can see the fingerprints on some of the animation cels! Of course, I don't expect anyone to ever get as lucky as I was with the old collection, and technically this collection has DVDs. So, definite buy for any Tenchi fan here! (Wait... I could give away my old collection to a friend...)
Mal
Started Captain Harlock aka Arcadia of my Youth. Its a bit odd but I can see it going places, especially with a theme such as this: The OST is pretty damn good too! Well, I think I'll be done in a week since its only 42 episodes. Mal
So about Captain Harlock... I'll get back to it soon. I've been recently watching Gundam ZZ so I can get on to Char's Counterattack and ultimately Gundam Unicorn. Currently on episode 6 and shit just haven't been going well. Am I watching a slice of life anime with goof ball cast? Things just has been really silly of which I don't recall Gundam ever having. It had light hearted moments but not like this. Waldorf and Statler
Huh. Have never seen Captain Harlock. It looks like it might be a really old anime so maybe the animation might be a tad outdated for me. Anywhere I could start watching that doesn't require me to start from the first anime? Mal
The animation and art style can be rather... odd. No idea where you can start since there seems to be two timelines and the newer series takes place right after the original, so there is bound to be references back to the original. Maybe you can watch the movie with the alt timeline to see if you like it or not.
WTF
So while people seem to be watching Psycho Pass (which seems to honestly be a slightly different variant of GITS 1st Gig has a very similar style including random episodes that give character backstories, there being a team and other aspects) and Robotics Notes, I'm curious if anyone else is watching the new Jojo series. Here's the second opening --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf4Ybm8T288 Basically the first 9 eps is the first vol of the manga series: Phantom Blood and the animation isn't the best, plus lots of censorship but it's still quite enjoyable. However once it hits the second vol of the manga at Battle Tendency that's when it gets really good. I've no idea if it'll continue beyond the 25eps they've planned but it's definitely one of the more fun shows from fall.
Waldorf and Statler
Wasn't the original anime that one of the basically unstoppable and ridiculous demi-god guy that kicked everybody's ass? Or am I confusing it with something else?
Mal
Dio Brando and his "ZA WARDO!" versus Jotaro? If so, yes to the first. WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Waldorf and Statler
Watched the first 5 episodes of Psycho-Pass and I gotta say while not bad, I am slightly disappointed. I was hoping it'd be like a cyberpunk cops n robbers version of Ergo Proxy (absolutely adored this one). Watching Tiger and Bunny and nothing is groundbreaking but it is a solid anime. Characters are likable and the ad-placement is done on purpose so I can't complain. edit: Correction I just finished Tiger and Bunny. Very enjoyable. I'd move on with Psycho Pass but I don't want to have to wait for new episodes so I'll wait till the rest of the season is over. Anybody have any recommendations on action/sci-fi seinen? I wouldn't mind a sprinkling of romance here and there in fact it is preferred. I refuse to continue Gantz as the characters were too whiny for my own tastes. WTF
Jotaro is part of Stardust Crusaders which is the third volume which has more stands and more poses but Joseph Joestar's volume is the more fabulous and amusing one with the whole pillarmen aspect. I mean technically pillarmen>vampires (since they do eat them). Yeah Malicious that's the old one , I hope that this is popular enough for them to get to Stardust Crusaders right now it's just Vol1 and Vol2. Vol2 is pretty sweet and much better paced than the first one though Dio is only in Vol1 and 3.
Mal
http://ieee80211abgn...entry-2696.html http://www.kokaku-a.com/ Executive director: Kise Kazuchika, screenplay Tow Ubukata, music by Cornelius. 2013 WTF have they done to the Major? Also no Yoko Kanno? As a fan of the entire series, this is either going to burn or shine like a thousand suns. MY BODY IS READY. --- Edit: In other news. Everyone in Bleach has psychotic disorder. Waldorf and Statler
What the FUCK is that the Major? No. Just no.I.... errrrrrr. Seems to be less mature seinen artstyle and more light-hearted/moe inclined. I'm not gonna wave it off completely but GOD. DAMMIT.
TheMightyEthan
http://store.steampo...r=1_apps_4__105 Wha-wha-whaaaaa! Where did this come from? Those recommended specs are crazy! Most importantly: Kokia. The fuck?! I think Malicious said it best: What is that tank girl show? All of these pictures and gifs and whatnot are indoctrinating me into wanting to watch it.
