Saturnine Tenshi
Well, I'm into it at this point. And I only watch anime because I might as well go read a book if I'm reading manga (with a few exceptions). It's a nice concept. It just suffers from fluff and repetition. Things like people repeating inner thoughts over and over and over in some heavy-handed attempt—and failure—at character development, at other characters going on about pointless "observations" and such. Just frustrates me. It's one reason why I try and avoid the genre.
Waldorf and Statler
hahaha so you like it but also see its flaws basically? We're not so different you and I.
Saturnine Tenshi
Otherwise I would have dropped it by now. I nearly did during that scene when they sat in the smoke for 30 minutes and talked about how a cannon was going to fire in 20 seconds. Waldorf and Statler
Yeah we were laughing throughout that episode as I told them that I had issues with pacing. One of my friends even started to read the manga and came to me all pissed off screaming "dude god dammit I shouldn't have started to read. I waited a fucking month for a manga chapter that was them talking about absolute shit auuuuugh" Like I said I have other shows and mangas. At this point I'm watching the anime to see the transition of what I read, which is a relatively ugly manga, to one of the most beautifully drawn animes I've seen in HD. Waldorf and Statler
shonen protagonists are immortal until, at least, the ending. I still remember getting pissed that a certain character died in Gurren Lagann but then I remembered he wasn't the main character. They never even attempted to give you the idea he was the main character. Also this thursday The Devil is a Part-timer ended and now Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet also ended. The latter probably had less issues than the former in terms of quality throughout. It ended on a high note. The only thing I'd say would be disappointing is that they tried to shoe-horn the romance between the two main characters, which there was always a hint of attraction, at the end with no resolution. I don't think it'll get a second season though I wouldn't be against it. It just ended very neatly but left possibilities of future trouble. Waldorf and Statler
from what I've heard of the preview of the second opening of Attack on Titan, it's crap. At least compared to the first. It sounds like every other fucking anime. I'm disappoint. edit: also I tried to watch Kanon. In what universe is this entertaining? I've seen hundreds of slice of life and I've never been more bored in my life. They even managed to make a demon hunter into a boring ass character because instantly you need to bring Uguuuuu and Auuuuuu chick back around. JESUS. Buying Groceries! The Anime! Mal
Not spoiling the video since I assume all interested parties have seen or reached this point already. I will spoiler tag a point that I want to make... This is, from what I recall, the only time Eren actually fights with the 3DMG until way later. Thus it is really hard to tell just where he stacks along with the other people but assuming Eren fought as well as he did in the manga (I haven't watched up to this part yet and I think it is the right part), he is quite up there. He could of took the titan down. With that said, are we up to Levi (Rivaille) action yet? I mean after the attack.
Waldorf and Statler
From what I gather from the manga, Eren is quite adept at using the 3D gear considering he's ranked #5 When they're describing the trainees, they specifically mention their skills as to what makes them stand out. Eren's skill is his sense of duty and and how fast he can train and become better, not to mention hand to hand combat who the only ones that could arguably have an advantage beng annie and mikasa. When he is focused, like when he's fighting the giant Titan above, he is a forced to be reckoned with as he loses fear. When he gets chomped if you recall he wasnt thinking clearly. First it was due to anger and then to save Armin+blood loss. When they're in the forest he gets his first official titan kill, which alongside the rest of the top 10 cadets makes him one of the best as some of them have only survived not killed. Also just listened to the new theme song fully. It's the same band. Not nearly as epic as the first one, but not as bad as I thought. Mal
Both the first opening and ending theme are fantastic. I'm trying to find the new theme on Youtube... no dice so far. Now this:

Mal
The latest manga chapter... oh my. The titans aren't that old. At least Ymir. Think back to that special chapter about "Ymir's people". It is a good hunch that all of Ymir's people got turned 65 years prior.Fuck. August cannot come quick enough. Anyways... I know the OP/ED are good but I never took a good listen to the OST. Its kind of different from most OST I know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfD2Huqa6TQ It is kind of solid too. Might be too "flashy" for most but it works. Edited July 14, 2013 by MaliciousH
Waldorf and Statler
It's such a shame the second opening doesn't compare to the first. It sounds like the guy was really trying too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g19iSKyiO0w
Mister Jack
So how is this Attack on Titan show? I've really kinda fallen out of anime in the last few years (still haven't even watched Gurren Lagann) but I'm hearing buzz about this one recently like it's the new "thing" amongst anime fans.
Saturnine Tenshi
It has some potential in the mystery of the Titans. It has some decent action scenes. But that all tends to get caught up in your typical shounen pitfalls unfortunately.
Waldorf and Statler
Don't believe everything of the hype. But it seems to be the new Cowboy Bebop. Not in terms of quality of the writing, but it seems to be the gateway drug for people who don't tend to watch anime. The animation is fantastic, characters I like, but the pacing can get horrible. In fact this recent episode with the trial I thought it'd take 2-3 episodes, I'm surprised it got done in 1.
Waldorf and Statler
So thanks to the advice of some people online and the fact I was interested in the Fate/Stay Night series but heard Fate Zero is fantastic while the FSN anime is shit, I decided to play the FSN visual novel. Nobody warned me about the H-scenes lol. Either ways, what a bittersweet ending. As a guy who loves both good stories but also loves cheese, I liked it yet hated it because like with most of my anime I like cheese. I prefer certain anime to have great stories over cheese like Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain, but those didn't revolve around basically you building a harem. Jesus. Also there's apparently two other routes for the two other girls but I very much don't care about them. Saber ftw. Now I can watch Fate Zero and get what's going on unlike those that start with Fate Zero apparently. Also the events of Zero are more important than the events of FSN lol since they overshadow everything they do in the novel Edited July 15, 2013 by Waldorf And Statler
Mal
When in doubt, assume ALL visual novels have hentals scenes (Don't do this for Higurashi or Umineko though!). I never got into the Fate universe all that well but FSN is only the freaking tip. You must thrust deeper! You got some shit load of material to go through. With that, as I pray, unlimited blade works.
Waldorf and Statler
I was wrong. There's apparently a cheese ending that was added in 2007 that is considered officially the true ending of the fate route. I just watched it. Indeed it was gouda. I refuse to acknowledge the sequel to the VN, even though it apparently deals with time travel and different dimensions or some bullshit so I'll just assume the scenes with Saber are not entirely canon. And yeah there's a reason I'm gonna watch Zero as it's apparently infinitely darker and more badass than this. And as long as Saber isn't flirting with other guys my cheese can remain unspoiled, and according to her recollection of what happened in that holy grail war I shouldn't have to worry. The only other visual novel I'd be interested in is the Steins; Gate one but I've seen the anime and I'm eagerly awaiting the movie to be released online subbed, and as far as I hear the anime is well loved among all types of fans unlike the FSN one. Mal
Oh by the way... http://www.moetron.com/2013/07/12/fatestay-night-new-anime-project-by-ufotable-announced/#more-23034 Have fun!
Waldorf and Statler
That's cool I guess but like I said I care little for the Heaven's Feel and the UBW routes as they deal with Rin and Naru- I mean Sakura. I'm a man with a very specific type of cheese that I like, and the one with Saber is the one for me. Obviously everybody has their favorite arc in this story, but I'm stubborn and want to believe the fate route is the one that is canon. Even if none of them are officially canon. Mal
I like Saber best as well but eh... Also I finally got to watch the first episode of Ghost in the Shell: Arise. To make it short: I can work with this. Music could get better though. Now onwards to Rozen Maiden (2013) desu~desu~desu~ AND I FORGOT THAT THE SECOND EPISODE IS NOT TILL A LONG ASS TIME. Waldorf and Statler
I need to rewatch both SAC seasons before watching the new GITS stuff as I don't remember crap. Even if it is a prequel.
