Isn't Watamote the one with the loser girl?

Either ways Unstable I don't see you here much, what do you like and what have you seen? If you're asking specifically for currently airing or recently ended anime the best recommendations I can give are

- Attack on Titan

- Gargantian on the Verdurous Planet

- The Devil is a Part-Timer!

- Space Battleship Yamato 2199

also I'm currently watching this and consider it easily among my favorite anime, and I haven't even finished it: Fate Zero. Download it HD if possible, it's gorgeous.

If you're looking for anime in general you'll most likely have to give us a list of what you've seen and your preferences in genres/topics.

Jesus... funny how I can't really speak about politics or the economy, but ask me for recommendations on movies, anime, books and geek stuff and I'm an open book.

Yeah, Watamote is about a girl hikki (shut-in) in her beginning stages of shut-in-ness. I just took a swing at the manga and so far it is sort of like a mashup of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and NHK ni Youkoso. Enjoyable so far.

UnstableArk, I suppose you can also hit up some older animes. For example, I'm about to hit up Record of the Lodoss War and Escaflowne.

Ah... the 80's-90's was filled with these sort of fantasy animes. Speaking of which, I should retry Slayers. I should also hit up Dragon Half.

LOOK AT THIS. How can you not watch it? Sure it is ecchi but come on bros... shit is tame to the amount of fan service we get now. For fuck's sake, they redid Gundam Seed/Seed Destiny to ave panties shots with the bulges.

I'm not a huge anime guy, really. Nothing against it, just haven't really seen much.

I'm not really particular about it, either. I've seen and enjoyed some serious dramatic stuff, some light-hearted slice-of-life. So long as it isn't obnoxiously tropey, not 50+ episodes in length, and has fairly decent story/writing/animation, I'll give it a watch, so recommend whatchu got.

For reference, the one anime I hold up top is Cowboy Bebop. Samurai Champloo also ranks high, but that doesn't mean I can only watch anime in that style.

Hit up Ghost in the Shell. All of them. You can take it one at a time, especially with SAC and 2nd GIG since they are 26 episodes each and are separate arcs. The movies (besides Solid State Society) are separate. Arise is also a separate universe and is mainly a prequel in ways to SAC. I suggest hitting up SAC and the movies first before you go into Arise since it is about The Major starting out...

Others...

Baccano. Immortals and 1920's-30's.

Gunbuster and Diebuster. Super robots and GUTS versus antibiotic aliens. I wouldn't say it is over the top but Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is sort of like Gunbuster and Diebuster (Super robots) but it is a bit over the top.

Sword of the Stranger. This is a movie. I would watch it for the action alone.

KARAS, OVA movie sort of thing. Might not be amazing story wise but that OST and action!

oh boy incest jokes

edit: couldn't wait anymore to learn about the Gintama movie since it probably won't be out in DVD until january so I read movie spoilers from people who saw it in japan. From what I read it sounds like a grand ol time

Sword Art Online is getting an Adult Swim dub job. As you may [or may not] know AS has been basically bringing over seinen from japan and doing excellent dub jobs.

Too bad they decided to go with Sword Art Online. Now a whole new group of viewers will be enthralled by the first half and disgusted by the second in terms of quality drop.

I actually read this manga. I don't know what it is, but I just want to see this poor girl get some kind of happy ending because lord knows this scenario is all too common in real life. If this series ends with her never finding a friend (let alone a boyfriend) I think it might actually make me depressed.

It's only three episodes so far but I like it.  Of course, I liked the manga too and it's kind of hard to fuck up a direct adaptation.  It's not exactly a feel-good show, though.  Watching Tomoko fail so hard at even the most basic of social interactions is funny, but on another level it's also kind of sad.
