Waldorf and Statler
Maybe she had a following with moe-guys who think kawaii as shit can lead the show, but no thanks for me. Dante lead the show for me.
Mal
Wait, I lied. Wrong girl and series. I'm thinking of Vita from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Please note how close the title is to Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica... Anyways, this is the series where lasers and shit happen. I honestly thought Madoka was this show... until you showed that picture of that series which I now don't even know what happens. And now to show who has invaded my mind. Moetron. Waldorf and Statler
After I catch up with The World God Only Knows, I might only have one more major Moe show I haven't seen [outside of Madoka]. Then I'll have to watch it. Good thing is that I'm 60 episodes away from catching up/finishing with Gintama and then I gotta wait for the film which is apparently an ending to the anime. Mal
The Middle East saves anime from Moetron and brings GUTS to the table.
Mister Jack
The middle east is making anime now? That's...kind of fascinating, actually. But it's still based in Japan?
Mal
Yeah, it takes place in Japan. Looks generic but it looks watchable. The mechs looks fine since I've seen worse. Apparently back in the 70's and 80's, a good deal of anime was aired. It would for sure explains the vibe I'm getting.
Mister Jack
Well you gotta start somewhere, I suppose. We had all kinds of shitty knockoffs before we ever made Avatar...which Japan apparently hates but fuck em.
Mercurial
They don't like Cowboy Bebop either so ya fuck em.
Mister Jack
I didn't care for Cowboy Bebop the first time I ever saw it, but I saw it out of order and couldn't really follow the story so it wasn't the best introduction. Everyone insisted I give it another shot, though, so I did and I'm glad I did because when you watch it properly it's fantastic.
Waldorf and Statler
Japan hates Cowboy Bebop? Weird since the director's name still brings raging orgasms from people, and unless they REALLY like Samurai Champloo the only other option would be the slice of life one [Kids on the Slope]. Which admittedly is decent.
Mister Jack
Watamote time In a weird way this episode was kind of uplifting. Sure, Tomoko was delusional to think that playing dating sims all night made her sexier, but at least she did get to feel like she was pretty and desirable whenever those guys stared at her because she was covered in ants. And she did get to watch the fireworks with someone, even if they were middle school boys who were more interested in peeping on the love hotel next door. She seemed to enjoy being a creeper just as much as they did so hey, it's all good.It doesn't exactly get her any closer to having real friends, but at least she got to have a moment of happiness. Waldorf and Statler
Watched Working. Best character is the one that is the exact copy of Sanji. Bad side is main character is not good enough as a driving force. Also there is zero to very little character development.
Saturnine Tenshi
Just watched episode six of Watamote. Really enjoying it.
Mal
I'm tempted to watch Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! for at least a few episodes. I blame these videos: And Hikki, grandpa, I watched and read Ichigo Mashimaro. Come at me bro. I honestly not too sure what is up with me and little kids at the moment. I'm finding them to be so cute. Guess I haven't dealt with kids in ages. Lastly... I'm trying to not fall for Kiniro Mosaic since its a slice of life at school show 9000. But the exploitables man. Waldorf and Statler
Started watching the Papa show. Took a turn for the dark the last few minutes of episode 2 lol edit: Just finished it. I gotta say that over-all it was an ok show. I can't believe I'm gonna say this but its biggest fault is focusing more on the happiness of the little girls and less on the drama. In fact there was very little drama. I mean this is a story about a freshman in college having to all of a sudden take care of three little girls after the parents die. Come on people. It could have used scenes like the MC crying over the sister or him struggling with the responsilibities, but the majority of the show takes place in the summer and it doesn't really show him balancing out college with work and taking care of these girls. It really lacked on the drama department. Not to mention it has a perverted fatass lolicon character that you know is there because it's an anime and it needs to have it, ruins the atmosphere. I think Usagi Drop did a better job with this. In fact besides the arc in Usagi Drop when the little girl grows up and has the hots for her dad it was perfectly fine. Anybody know of any good dramas that don't entirely revolve around romance but more about family members dying and trying to move on from there? Mal
That is crap. Japan, you had one job: Make me bawl like a little kid again. With a subject like that, you had a perfect chance... I had what-ifs go through my head of a similar scenario and they scare me. Ah... fuck the obsessive market. Yet I am pretty much a low level one... Dropped. Thanks Wally. Also, no. Haven't heard of one. Closest I can think of is Grave of the Fireflies but that is an entirely different beast. And I seriously got to get to Usagi Drop. I've been meaning to for a while. My favorite character is based off someone from that series... In other news, Kaze Tachinu. Its about the guy that made the Zero, the Japanese war plane in WWII. Seems like the dude was like Oppenheimer in going "Oh god, what have I done?" with regards to what they help made since they both were more or less in it for the science and tech of it. I look forward to it. I also look forward to Kaguya-hime no Monogatari. Both Ghibli films fyi.
Waldorf and Statler
If you haven't read/watched Usagi Drop I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. I just suggest stopping once the time skips because then it turns into "girl in high school with a boy crush, later realizes she loves the dad figure so much she wants to marry him" That one is definitely a sad sad one. Basically nobody wanted the little girl and he sacrifices his whole life for her, even if they have very little relationship. The manga is entirely him struggling and learning how to be a dad. My favorite dad/daughter relationship will always be Hughes though. Manly tears.
Mal
I think I might stick to the manga. Much faster that way. I personally prefer You pretty much asked for your world to be burned.
Waldorf and Statler
I liked the little girl. But then you know. It took a turn for the dark.
Mal
But yeah, Hughes. Never forget and never forgive. Now that I think about it, Fullmetal Alchemist manga and the Brotherhood anime (I never finished it though...) are superb. The original anime is good in its own right. Shonen done right. It is also not ridiculously long. Nostalgia time. Good OP and when Roy becomes a badass. Manly tears seared off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enyipxV6ds0
Mister Jack
http://youtu.be/Yp9GjQEkfpo Despite reading the entire manga at this point, I have yet to actually watch the anime.
