Mal
Powering through Saikano since its the weekend and the dated animation was wearing on me but... it got slightly better. So far I like it. War is hell and the ghoul of death sure make people do weird things so I'm not judging. Â But yeah, I'm sort of a pacifist and I got to say... What is with the goddamn war of attrition? Pointless as fuck. Now back to the regular programing... Edit: My face: Â Â Finish Edit: My face: Â It delivered on the promise of the title. Â Onto the OVAs, which is a separate side story and then the one shot manga. All equally depressing. --- Thoughts about the main series... this Japan has to be one where North Korea took over Japan and somehow Japan kept its way of life because there is no god damn point in a suicidal weapon and have the US attack Japan again. She's wiping out just as many friendlies as enemies and in the process she scorches the fucking city to the ground. Oh mai gawd, I wonder why you are losing fucking ground. -deflates- Â Meh. I think this series is telling a love story along with a lesson of pointless war which I think aims at folks like Patton (I think it was him) who advocate nuking the shit out of countries. We actually do have shit that rival Chise's destructive powers... so I think it is also going against this. So now I'm depressed. NODAME!!! Please save my soul. (Love Story, Killed Warning, NSFW. It is a Saikano spinoff oneshot. Page 32 sums up my feelings EXACTLY. If you try to think about it, it is VERY annoying. Fucking offensive too.) Waldorf and Statler
Anybody here watching Uchouten Kazoku? It's been absolutely fantastic so far. The latest episode had me in tears. highly recommended if you're looking for a weird anime. It's about a family of tanukis in a world where they coexist with magical crow people and humans. Mister Jack
You've got my attention. Â What's the name in English? Â I'm terrible at remembering Japanese titles.
Saturnine Tenshi
I didn't have the cellphone on me during most of the convention, but I managed to snag a few cosplay photos. I ran into a Nep-nep and was the only one to recognize her, evidently.http://imgur.com/a/IVZADThere was sooo much Attack on Titan cosplay. So much. Waldorf and Statler
@Jack: the eccentric family. It's a modern fantasy anime. a bit of fucked up romance as well. You might be turned off the first few episodes due to the protagonist transforming into a girl but there's a reason for it and it basically stops after a few episodes  @Saturnine: I like that somebody dressed up in Valkyria Chronicles getup. Saturnine Tenshi
I actually hurried from my booth to catch the lass to take that one. And the Chobits one. Waldorf and Statler
Man I've been watching serious anime like crazy so I took s break with Campione. What a delightfully ecchi anime.
Mal
This is a sign for me to rewatch everything Black Lagoon and to get started with the manga. Also these omakes can be explained on why they happen. Â Â It is all a movie/TV show. You can say that they're a copout but my god, it makes sense. Waldorf and Statler
The manga I wouldn't recommend unless the creator finally started it back up from the hiatus.
Mal
Last I've heard, it is back on a monthly run or something like that. At the very least, it'll be back soon like next month? Better than Berserk which is on indefinite hiatus. Its happening!

Waldorf and Statler
Episode 21 of SnK has to be one of the most beautifully animated episodes of all time. Jesus.  Also the upside of seeing it in action vs reading skills is you can see shit with more detail such as   Eren freezing when he recognized the stance the female titan was taking. He really was dominating the battle until she started using the crystal and the finishing move
Waldorf and Statler
I'm on mobile do trying to directly link the video is a pain but behold a decently long teaser of the New anime by Watanabe set in space. That's the creator of Cowboy Bebop btw. There's a lot of great talent behind this if you're interested. Mister Jack
Anyone else hear that Hayao Miyazaki is retiring?  The Wind Rises is going to be his last film.
Mal
He has been saying that for ages it seems but still... regardless when he retires, it has been a fun flight with him. Fitting for him to end with a movie with planes front and center. Â Porco Rosso <
Waldorf and Statler
He never made that Porco Rosso movie he wanted to make bit he's old. I'd rather he relax his last few years
Mal
I'm in the future... streaming anime or any shows (as long it is mp4 format, looking for mvk playback) from my computer to my phone. This is perfect for my folks' place where I have my tower connected to the main TV. It really helps that I have a Note 2.
Waldorf and Statler
Lol welcome to what I've had to do for the past 2 weeks and a half due to no laptop. My recommendations are an app called Animania (by far biggest library of streamable anime I've seen in any app). The downside is they recently got video ads that play fairly regularly before you start each new episode. sometimes I get lucky and get a whole series without ads. But they're 15 to 30 seconds long. not terribly bad. Â Alongside this I recommend also visiting animeultima.tv . If you find a series where they have an mp4upload or AUEngine stream then those work and can be full sized in mobile. AUENGINE is fairly common in the site. The combination of app and site is how I've been watching my shows. Â If you're interested in reading manga on your phone find an app called vreader. It has no downsides outside of a non intrusive rectangle ad in the bottom as you're reading.
Waldorf and Statler
I am currently watching the most artistic and well directed semi harem I have ever seen. It's like if Da Vinci painted ecchi. It's by Ufotable so it's no surprise it's this good. Â Futokai Alternative if you're interested. Young college drop out detective with his two 15 year old twin assistants in love with him.
Mal
I'm streaming my files that I downloaded. No connection with the outside world needed if I have it all downloaded. Knowing my backlog that I have onhand, I can out last any normal outage. Besides... I can enjoy a nice big screen animu viewing experience. No ads. No nadda. Streaming plebs. Â Also, I need more anime like Nodame. Its the sort of down to Earth, normal anime I like to watch. I feel my taste is kind of weird, it is either some oddball combinaton (Girls and tanks. Living dolls. "Cute girls doing cute things") or it got to be rather normal like Nodame. God do I stay away from harem animes. Â I think Nodame catches my eye since its portraying people in a similar age group as me. Might explain why I like the Unwound Arc of Rozen Maiden so much as well. Waldorf and Statler
When I say semi harem I said it wrong. It's by no means a harem since the twins are actually more willing to share him than be separated. It's a very sweet story and well directed. I cannot recommend it enough.
