I don't know where to start with Evangelion, all the names, numbers, and spin-offs of all things.

I've wanted to give it a chance; it's been years and I know all about the rabid praise it receives. Still, I look through the Wiki article and I get lost in all the multiple endings and retellings... there's even new movies coming out?

That's exactly my response to Evangelion. The only thing that remotely gets my attention is Asuka, and even then it's not enough for me to really watch it. Evangelion really sees like one of those "you HAVE to have been there when it started" type of animes, which is a large reason why I'm not even bothering with it anymore.

I used to watch a bit of it on Adult Swim. A bit. They didn't really show it all that often, and there's no new episodes either. It was all reruns, reruns...

Also, I don't think Bakemonogatari is that dark. Might be a wee bit dark, but in comparison to some other things I've seen not really that dark.

I' m watching Level E. I was mildly interested in it and decided to give it a try. So far it's pretty funny, silly humor. I think I'll watch this one.

Level E is probably the best anime this Winter season. Science fiction plus humor is a great combination when done smart like it's being done in Level E. Glad to see some one else watching it along with me.

Fractale is coming along fairly well too. If you haven't checked that one out I suggest giving it a shot.

I love Anime when it's done right. Sadly, that's roughly once a decade or so.

Some of my favorites would include

Roughly the first half of Death Note

Paprika

Tokyo Godfathers

Spirited Away

Grave of the Fireflies

In my experience, TV anime (just like western TV shows) are more often than not dumbed down to fit the format and end up being REALLY BAD.

Just finished watching Studio Ghibli's Whisper of the Heart, as it was on TV. Certainly an enjoyable way to kill a couple of hours, and I may pick it on DVD if I find it for a fiver or less. Not my favourite of their films though.

Yeah, I saw Whisper of the Heart as well. Needless to say, I found it very lacking for a Ghibli film.

Lol, is it me or do the Yu-gi-oh hairstyles get crazier as the series progresses?

Anyways, the only anime I'm seriously interested in is The World God Only Knows. Passing fancy to Kampfer since I watched the first season, guess I'll watch the second. :U

Steins;Gate might be interesting. Chaos;Head by itself was already interesting enough, I wonder if it factors into Steins;Gate somehow?

And lastly, Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai. We'll see how that one goes. Rest is garbage to me, hehe.

Late buuuuuttt just watch the movies if you want to get into it.

The movies are re-telling the original anime in a much more sensible fashion. It makes more sense, and flows much better. Plus, it's gorgeous, and the dub isn't terrible.

If you really like the movies, and don't want to wait, go ahead and watch the original. The movies obviously cut a lot out, and you'll notice. Just make sure you don't watch the last episode. Just skip it, and watch something called The End of Evangelion. Apparently, studio ran out of money, fucked up the ending and then later came back to "properly" tell the ending. It's still a mind fuck, but one that doesn't want you to go murder someone.

That anime lineup image is freezing my browser on my phone. :V

As my current anime watching... I'm currently trying to find time for Howl's Moving Castle. I have't watched that one yet and I've heard such good things... and I call myself a Ghibli fan.

Also, Panty, Stockings and Gartherbelt. Need tiiiiiime.
