Pirandello
TWGOK season 2 is finally out. And the primary heroine for this beginning arc is the martial arts team captain, my favorite. Booya.

Pirandello
Boo, Vampire Knight. Everyone in that show looked so pretty, it got boring. I mean, drama and pretty people go hand in hand, right? That's why it bored me.
CorgiShinobi
The last time I shopped at FYE (months ago), they were handing out flyers for a Vampire Knight release something-or-other kinda event. Basically, I feared for my health when I saw the characters, and the words "cosplay" in the description.
Saturnine Tenshi
Wait, you passed up a Vampire Knight release something-or-other extravaganza? You missed out on the opportunity to take advantage of so many candy-wrapped little sparrows that I can't even... can't even...
Pirandello
Finally finished Katanagatari. This is what I think: What the FUCK?! What kind of an ending was that?! Is soothsaying some sort of catch-all for the shitty ending here? They killed off perfectly good characters and entire groups of people for absolutely nothing except to advance the plot character's pointless-as-shit personal whims? Where the FUCK is the closure in this damn series? Who the fuck wrote this, a film school dropout who couldn't get his license in screenwriting? Thanks for reminding me that animes can't have a story for shit anymore these days. tl;dr: It looks pretty. That's about it.

Saturnine Tenshi
Started reading Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei recently. One of the few anime/manga to ever make me chortle.

Saturnine Tenshi
NIS America just announced they're localizing Arakawa Under the Bridge and Katanagatari. I've an aversion to dubs, but for those of you who prefer them, I can vouce for Arakawa Under the Bridge. Good stuff, that one. Wonky, goofy, pell mell and lush with slut-potatoes. NIS America is happy to announce two brand new anime titles that will both be available this July! We a proud to present Katanagatari and Arakawa Under the Bridge! Both scheduled to be released on July 5th. There are premium editions you can purchase. If you want, I'll list that information, too. We a proud to present Katanagatari and Arakawa Under the Bridge! Please refer to my post about Katanagatari: Finally finished Katanagatari. This is what I think: What the FUCK?! What kind of an ending was that?! Is soothsaying some sort of catch-all for the shitty ending here? They killed off perfectly good characters and entire groups of people for absolutely nothing except to advance the plot because they can't think of a F**KING GOOD WAY TO MOVE IT FORWARD? Where the FUCK is the closure in this damn series? Who the fuck wrote this, a film school dropout who couldn't get his license in screenwriting? Why did the first half of the series seem so good and then they pulled a Big Bang's worth of deus ex machinas out of their asses? Thanks for reminding me that animes can't have a story for shit anymore these days. tl;dr: It looks pretty. That's about it.
CorgiShinobi
I guess this is as good a place to post this, so here goes! I'm running into a bit of a dilemma. As of now, I have half of the Tenchi Muyo OVAs on DVD. However, Tenchi Muyo is a rescued license in the hands of FUNimation. They've already started releasing collections of rescued licenses, such as the fantastic FLCL! Still, there's a problem I'm facing: there are no plans [as of] yet for the Tenchi Muyo OVAs! Well, FUNimation wants to eventually release the series, but there is no word of when this could be. If they do release the series, they could offer a Blu-ray collection like the one in Japan by Geneon Int. Yet, who knows when eventually will be?! Importing the Blu-ray collection, which does have the English dubbed audio, would be ridiculously expensive. On the other hand, will it be within the year we could find out about a release, or will it be a few years from now? So, the dilemma: Do I go ahead with purchasing the other half on DVD, or do I patiently wait for word of a much more recent collection? I like to purchase anime that I thoroughly enjoy, so no I don't want to torrent. Still Vol 1 and 2 were by far dirt cheap. Vol 3 and 4 will be quite a bit more expensive. Together I could get them for about the price of a video game, that is if I want NEW copies. Used, I usually only purchase if there are thorough pictures or I'm at a store. Enervation
Remake? O_o A *good* remake?
Mal
Yep. A new anime. Think of what they done with Full Metal Alchemist. I think? If I recall, the original anime didn't quite follow the manga... now they had the finish manga for like a decade plus so... its about time. But... I think for them to dig up Kenshin to remake is quite telling of the anime industry at the moment... they (usually) can't come up with a series worth a damn. So... they have to go for remakes. Not like its a bad thing if they do it correctly... Also, linkie: http://www.moetron.com/2011/04/18/rurouni-kenshin-new-anime-project-announced/ --- The news got me to watch the first OVA again. The story was fine for the first half, then they drove it off a cliff in dramatic fashion and... well, shit rolls downhill, you know? Mal
I'm sort of excited but at the same time nervous that they'll rape my childhood... then again, I don't recall watching much of the anime, just parts. It was whatever my cousin got from the store that sold subbed anime VHS. Remember those days?
Saturnine Tenshi
Are they following the anime or the OVA? The OVA was the only thing I could stand. And by stand I mean adore.
Mal
Not too sure but I would assume more like the anime but follow the manga a lot more than it did. If its anything, the OVAs will see a HD release. Trust and Betrayal in 720-1080? Oh god yes.

Enervation
not sure how to feel about remake It'll either fly or fall, and only time will tell once it happens. I'm really hoping they stick to the guns the manga's loaded, otherwise it'll seem kinda stupid to even do a remake, right? I'm also kind of worried with all the commotion in Japan, as well as the seemingly dropping series lengths (I think the average anime is down to 12 episodes now, with the exception of largely popular series), and I'm interested in seeing what company is doing this, and how long the remake will actually run for. I remember watching Rurouni Kenshin when I was a teen, then fast forward to around 2008 and me finishing the manga (reading it in a Borders). Mind was blown.
