TheMightyEthan
I agree wholeheartedly that story DLC is the best kind, but in this game I actually really enjoyed the challenge maps so the challenge DLC is kind of appealing.
Hot Heart
Hope no one looks too closely at the Harley Quinn DLC bit of the trailer... Since the signs say 'R.I.P. My Angel', 'Shrine of Joker' and 'Joker 4 Ever' It's more of a blink-and-miss-it thing though anyway... TheMightyEthan
Just the fact that Harley is wearing a black veil is kind of a give away if you think about it much.
Hot Heart
True, but I actually found that less noticeable. Plus, she's always one for dressing up. Now, if you do a world's greatest detective and put all that together with the name of the DLC as well...
Strangelove
Batman is such a damn good detective that he has become self aware realized hes in a videogame. Woah.
TheMightyEthan
So apparently Harley Quinn's Revenge launched today, same day as 360. I don't know why they were acting like the PC release date was some big secret given that's the case, especially since with the way PC gamers are usually treated it made everyone assume it was going to be weeks or months delayed. TheMightyEthan
Seriously, 1 hour apart:
TCP
Played about half of it last night. Found it a littler underwhelming. Hopefully the second half will be better!
TheMightyEthan
I started it downloading before I left for work this morning, so I should be able to play it tonight.
CorgiShinobi
I completely forgot about the DLC last night, but it's downloading now. With the three-day weekend, Tuesday didn't feel like... Tuesday.
TheMightyEthan
OMG, I got working on house stuff and completely forgot about this too. YAY!
CorgiShinobi
Eh, it is a bit underwhelming. Though, part of it is probably because of the massive hype it had this year. I mean, with all the goof-ups I had and all, it lasted around 90 minutes (including the cutscenes, which were pretty good.) If I'm going to play again, I'm going to use a guide for all those balloons. I got about 20 of them on my own, but I didn't really bother looking too. Little Pirate
I'm debating getting the Harley Quinn DLC myself. Even if it's not so amazing I am a Harley Quinn fan so I'll still play through it. But I'd need to buy more Microsoft points...
CorgiShinobi
I will say this, because after all it was a rather large easter egg in the main game, but when you see the new "item" where there was the test, you'll see some more. For those who know what I'm talking about, there are some more pregnancy tests on the ground. Actually, probably a few boxes worth, and you'll know why if you look. TheMightyEthan
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118056432 Rocksteady is supposedly working on a prequel game, and getting the franchise set up for future Justice League games. It's supposed to be based on the Silver Age. I hope they don't change it too much, or that if they do it's still good.
Strangelove
I'm not quite understanding the timeline now. It cant take place in the 1950s(Silver Age) because AA and AC take place in the present and Batman isnt 70 years old. I'm assuming the 1980s? Better get Rob Liefeld on it then. TheMightyEthan
I'm assuming the Silver Age reference just relates to the feel they're going for, not the actual date in-universe.
Strangelove
Yeah I figured. Its weird because Im used to seeing Batman fight guys in fedoras like in the animated series, so I always place young Batman somewhere between the 1950s and 1970s, though the animated series takes place in a really noir old fashioned 1990s Gotham. But now Arkham City and Nolan Batman are in their 30s and possibly early 40s, so their youth was in the 1980s, which coincidentally is Burton's Batman's present. Nolan's Batman doesn't even become Batman til after the year 2000. I dont read the comics, but I always figured he'd start a lot earlier. A young Batman fighting 1980s criminals weirds me out is all Im saying. He probably listens to Cyndi Lauper in his Batmobile and shit. There's just nothing cool about it. An older Batman fighting 1980s criminals is cool though cus 1980s criminals deserve to get their ass beat by the older generation. Im not sure where im going with this, so Ill stop. TheMightyEthan
Did the shark explode at the end of that series clip? And if so, why? Nm, I'm guessing the Penguin rigged it with explosives to kill Batman. Because that makes sense.

Enervation
So I have obtained this game through the recent Steam sale. I can't believe I haven't played this! Well, granted I've never played a Batman game ever, my expectations and opinions may be skewed. But I really enjoyed the game, although some of the Riddler puzzles confuse the heck out of me. Eleven
Spoiler: Joker watches Lost! *GASP* I was listening to him in one of the TVs saying something about we not being satisfied with answers, and I was saying to myself "Yeah he's right, just like Lost". Then he mentioned the church and there it was.
SomTervo
So I just watched . By God there's some great stuff in there, that I had no idea existed. (Only watch if you've played Arkham City enough. Big spoilers. And loads of awesome oober-secrets and easter eggs.) Now I feel like I have a pretty excellent and deep view of where the canon's at, what's going on. And I think I see what Rocksteady are going to do. So Joker is dead, etc. And Rocksteady just announced that the next Batman game will be a prequel one where we meet the Joker for the first time. Not sure how I feel about that. But look at some of the stuff in that video. Scarecrow is obviously coming back. Gotham is the next target: Gotham is where the next big entry in the series, in terms of the Arkham story, will take place. And it'll be full of fear. It's obviously going to be a narrative along the lines of the League of Shadow's assault on Gotham in Batman Begins. That is exactly what Batman Begins is about. Scarecrow and the League of Shadows/ Assassins terrifying Gotham so it destroys itself. And we know that Scarecrow is coming, Ra's Al Ghul is still alive, etc. The only thing Rocksteady are adding to the pot is that Killer Croc is rampant. So if the next big Batman game is basically going to be a big homage to Batman Begins, that's brilliant, because in a lot of ways it's my favourite Batman movie (the only one that gets 'Batman' right imho), and it would be a nice way for Rocksteady to finish their series; with what began the Dark Knight's most famous and acclaimed film series. But... If Rocksteady's next release is going to be a prequel... Where we meet the Joker... That obviously isn't the next iteration of the Arkham story ark...There's only one way I can see this working: The next Batman game, the prequel one, will probably come out in a year, maybe two years time. Now, what will be happening around that time, console-wise? Our consoles, our generation, as we have now, will be on it's last legs. It already kinda is. So what will be happening in, say, 4-5 years time, when the next Rocksteady game after the Joker one, will be out? Presumably, we'll be on 'next-generation' consoles. So what I'm saying is that the next, and probably final episode in the Batman: Arkham ark (we basically know it's the final one because Azriel or whatever tells Batman that his final days are coming, and Rocksteady wouldn't say that lightly) will be on next-gen consoles. The fact that they tout the next plot point to be set in Gotham, initially set my alarm bells ringing. 'Our current gen consoles can't handle a whole Gotham city', I thought. 'Arkham City is as big as we can fit on this disc size, with this level of detail they aim for. They really can't up their game that much more on this generation'. But, we know that developers are already starting work on games for the next-gen consoles, and considering Rocksteady's next actual release is a prequel, nothing to do with resolving this story arc... I'm pretty sure Batman: City of Fear, or Batman: Gotham City, or whatever it will be, will be on next-gen consoles, blu-rays or whatever. And it'll probably be fucking epic. Now, that's a whole lot of assumption. But it's very late, I'm very tired, and I'm getting excited and rambling about this. I really dig the mythology to this series, and in terms of how they can release the games and what they're trying to achieve with them, that's the only way I can see it working. Just imagine what they could do on next-gen consoles with a whole (at least chunk of) Gotham City and Batman with all his abilities... The possibilities are just endless. The graphics as well... I'm pretty happy with how Arkham City looks. Pretty satisfied. But they could just do ridiculous things on next-gen with a free-roaming Batman game. Just ridiculous.
