Hot Heart
I know I'm late to the party but OMG, this game is fun. I'm not even talking about the 'scripted' stuff. Just the general, roaming around, being a badass. I think my favourite moment so far was the accidental discovery that there is such a thing as a grapnel boost takedown. I had no idea someone was by that ledge!
SomTervo
Haha that's a good one. Accidental move discovery is great, there is so much you can do in that game. Mine was the inside vent takedown when you slam a guy outside the vent. Did not expect that to happen. And using the CQC disarm move to bend someone's pipe. I felt like such a badass. Hot Heart
One thing I am not liking is that, outside, it can suddenly spawn groups of bad guys (presumably this only happens in previously cleared areas). So, I wandered into one bit and then a bunch of guys materialised out of nowhere. Because I'd already been there before I knew there were a few armed guys...turns out there were four. Spammed the batclaw and then started wailing on everyone.
toxicitizen
The combat challenges were the very last thing I did, so I discovered a few kickass moves only when I was mostly done playing. Batclaw Slam, I think it was called, is pretty goddamn awesome. Wish I'd known about it earlier.

TheMightyEthan
The combat in Arkham Asylum always made me feel like such a badass. It often reminds me of this quote from The Dark Knight: Let me get this straight: You think that your client, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands. And your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck.
excel_excel
Ok so I finished it last night.....really good game but there's always something wrong isn't there? so Strange was just a puppet for Ra Al Ghul? What a disappointment. We are never told how he figured out Bruce Wayne was Batman, I guess were supposed to think that he profiled everyone in Gotham or is so smart he figured it out himself, yet he's nothing more than a pawn, which makes his Protocol 11 turn around to destroy the tower a bit hollow feeling. There was no more really to the guy then 'evil scientist'. Its hinted at in interview tapes but we never find out what makes him tick....shame. I was expecting a titanic showdown with him but instead it was, beat up all his guards, then cutscene and his death. Then we get to the Joker in the theatre....I liked the reveal that there was a double, but it should have been explained far more clearly how Joker never received the cure. Instead I was confused thinking how he never got the cure, and Talia just had it. Harley was tied up in the steel mill but there's no clue how she got there at all. Then we come to Clayface being the double......first off I really digged this, but there more should have been done to emphasis who Clayface was and what he could do. When I was presented with the sword to start chopping him up, I hesitated thinking 'won't chopping him up kill the fucker? Batman doesn't kill right?'. Still fun boss fight, and the Joker dying was pretty cool. More could have been done with it though. God damn plot got convoluted toward the end, and I thought the 'fantasy' elements should have been kept to a minimum. And no Croc or Scarecrow battles? boooooo! Great game despite its shortcomings. MasterDex
I got this today for PC. Won't be playing it for a while, I think. Have a problem with stuttering sound during the FMVs, apparently it's widespread too. So yeah, can't wait to play it....but I will, because I'm not suffering through this problem. Also, apparently DX11 is FUBAR until a patch hits as well. So much for that delay, eh?
Hot Heart
I haven't noticed major problems. The framerate drastically dropped when I was in the courthouse but that issue seemed to go when my drivers updated. Occasionally, I will get a moment or two of slowdown but I think that's from loading the area in. As far as actual problems go, I have noticed the audio go out of sync during a couple of in-engine cutscenes, not FMVs.
TheMightyEthan
Oh, I'd only launched the game once to make sure it was working, and I got stuttering sound during one of the logo FMVs, but figured it was just my computer being retarded. Hmmm, maybe I won't play this today then, cause I don't want to suffer through that either.
Hot Heart
Oh, I should mention that the other problem is that a few times it has loaded and then CTDed on the main screen. Which is annoying because it takes a while to load (and I have to remember to turn off my speakers for the stupid nvidia splash screen). Hot Heart
Ok so I finished it last night.....really good game but there's always something wrong isn't there? so Strange was just a puppet for Ra Al Ghul? God damn plot got convoluted toward the end, and I thought the 'fantasy' elements should have been kept to a minimum. And no Croc or Scarecrow battles? boooooo! Great game despite its shortcomings. I was a bit disappointed with Strange in the end. All this talk of knowing his weakness and everything. Turns out Batman's weakness is...being shot/stabbed/punched a lot. I really liked the atmosphere when climbing Wonder Tower but I do think they could've done something a bit more with Strange there. Although that bastard did spot me and alert a guy to my presence juuust as I was about to take them down silently. Made no difference anyway, the other guy's guns did not work so it was beatdown city. Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of flaws in the whole thing if you look closely. I kinda guessed Ra's Al Ghul would be behind it but figured they wouldn't be that obvious. It felt a bit too close to Batman Begins. Plus, depending on canon really, I thought Ra's Al Ghul already knew Batman's real identity so why not just tell Strange? And the whole not having the cure thing. So, yeah, I figure Talia snatched it from Harley but then why bother to try and make a deal with The Joker in order to spare Batman? Seems to me she could've just taken him out without a fuss beforehand. But it is nice that you can spot those little clues beforehand (early on in the Steel Mill, when Harley closes the high up entrance on you, you can hear her mistaking fake Joker for real Joker and him chiding her). I even found what is presumably the same guard that Strange questioned during that first trailer. Despite the story problems, it was a lot of fun and I can see myself going back to do a load of riddles and challenges. It is also my personal GOTY. Hot Heart
Grr. The patch did fix issues for most things but the worst area (court-house) crashed on me rather than just a brief framerate drop.
TheMightyEthan
Well it fixed DX11 and turning on DX11 fixes the sound stuttering in cutscenes for me. So now I can actually play the game, which is a major plus.

Hasn't he got anything better to do than leave green question marks all over Gotham City?" Line of the game.
Hot Heart
I think my favourite was the two guys on a rooftop who had just seen me beat up a bunch of other thugs below and they're discussing it, acting all tough, like "Batman's too scared to come up here. I'd show him who's boss." and then WHAM! Double takedown. They did not realise I had snuck up behind them. The fools! Or the guys trying to play three-way Rock-paper-scissors. Hot Heart
*Starts New Game Plus where everything is tougher and Counter icons are turned off* *Completely owns first fight in a single combo of 42 hits* *Almost misses bit where he is supposed to counter during a cutscene/conversation* *Gets completely owned in his second fight* *Does OK with the next fight...hey, there are guns already* *Scrapes through what was essentially an optional fight* *Completes the next fight with a single combo of 69 hits. Even this is not quite enough to completely restore health and armour lost in preceding fight* New Game Plus is gonna be one hell of a bumpy ride. And, man, Robin is hella fun to play as but I really need to get a hang of what the button commands do for him. It can be pretty confusing and some of those fights make it even more so. Quite proud of myself for finishing a Predator map with all three medals and a time of 1:34 though.
Hot Heart
I suppose I should put this here: http://pressxordie.com/2011/12/15/my-game-of-the-year-batman-arkham-city/
Hot Heart
I know I keep talking about this game, but I've just got to a bit in New Game Plus where they've added a thug on the other side of a window who can see you about to silently takedown his friends but they can't hear him shouting and banging on the glass, trying to warn them. Classic! EDIT: Included a clip here http://www.youtube.c...a6s7KqKc#t=568s I regret not seeing what happens if you spray explosive gel on the window. If you watch the predator bit afterwards he's complete rubs. Plus, they switched up a predator bit so you shouldn't go with your first instincts like in the initial playthrough, and I totally pwned it. SomTervo
Hah, I didn't realise that wasn't in the first playthrough. Also, the Animated Batman skin doesn't actually look half bad. I've been playing exclusively with the Beyond skin, it's so good. For learning the DLC character's moves, I find doing the Ice Lounge or whatever map is best to learn their moves. It goes on forever, so just experiment. And going into a predator map and just using all the quick-keys. Such an excellent game. Awesome how many more levels it works on than the first. When you're in a big fight with guards, one of em's armed, two have shields, two have knives, and one of them is a Riddler informant. So much to deal with, and it's so badass dealing with it. I've no idea how they're going to improve on it for the next one (which'll almost definitely be their last B-Man game.) Any ideas?
