TheMightyEthan
New Arkham game this year. All the stokeds, they are mine.
deanb
It isn't from Rocksteady though which stokes slightly less. Sort of Arkham City: Brotherhood-Revelations than Arkham City III
Waldorf and Statler
It isn't from Rocksteady AND it no longer has the guy that wrote the premise of the other two titles. And if it's a retro Batman game that introduces the Joker again I'm going to scream. People have such a hard-on for the Joker it's ridiculous. Yes he's fantastic but there are a million other Batman villains, give them a freaking chance
TheMightyEthan
Well considering Brotherhood is quite possibly the best Assassin's Creed game that's not necessarily a bad thing. The retro one that has been rumored is a silver-age one, and that one is being developed by Rocksteady, it's just not expected until 2014. Though it is possible that people are wrong about the date and it could be Rocksteady's one this year.
Hot Heart
Well, the Arkham games weren't exactly great because of their stories (well, Asylum was but it wasn't anything new, and it did have that final boss...). Just that the gameplay rules. Brotherhood was bloated and exposed weaknesses in the mechanics. Thankfully, the Arkham games fare a lot better there already. TheMightyEthan
I think you're confusing Brotherhood with Revelations. Brotherhood was amazing.

toxicitizen
A Batman game not made by Rocksteady? I must've missed that part... Anyway, I'm with Hot Heart. Having replayed both last year, I feel ACII is the more cohesive game. Brotherhood improved in a lot of areas, but I think overall it made some of the series' major flaws a lot more apparent. TCP
Lot's of people are losing their shit over Arkham Origins not being from Rocksteady. Here's some facts for you to remember:1) It's being produced by Warner Bros Montreal... CANADIANS. We Canadians are unnaturally talented at producing video games. 2) Everyone lost their shit about Fallout New Vegas not being produced by Bethesda, and it was a pretty great game. 3) You don't have to be an incredible developer to take assets produced by another developer, follow their structure, and get a competent game. As long as they don't go about trying to change everything, it shouldn't be too hard to make "more of the same", which looks like the case. In other news, Armature Studios is developing a spinoff game that'll be a 2.5D Metroid style Batman game for the Vita. Count me as excited. Faiblesse Des Sens
2) Everyone lost their shit about Fallout New Vegas not being produced by Bethesda, and it was a pretty great game. These are the same retards who ended up not liking Fallout: New Vegas as much because it was much more of a RPG.
toxicitizen
It hurts my brain whenever someone argues that Fallout 3 is better than NV. They're both good games but NV just has so much more going for it.
Faiblesse Des Sens
But I loved wandering an endless wasteland with fewer locations, less dialogue, and my choices mattering less!
toxicitizen
Well, when you put it that way, I guess... It was kind of stupid how at the end of NV the game just left me to choose for myself who I wanted to side with. So many shades of gray, it was nauseating! Hopefully that low metacritic score that cost Obsidian their bonuses thought them a lesson and next time we'll have proper black and white factions with clear indications of what the correct choices are.
Waldorf and Statler
Isn't it a difference if the developer has previous history of making competent games? I mean Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon came from a relatively nobody developer but it was backed by Nintendo. Very few of their 'mario' titles suck. This one on the other hand? Has a lot of chance. Hot Heart
Wow, great, looks like we get to see how The Penguin got a broken bottle bottom jammed in his eye! Just what I always wanted to know. Seriously, though, hope it's good. It has potential, that's for sure.
Waldorf and Statler
If they get Hush and the Calendar Man in here as well, and more importantly not bring the Joker as anything but a minor character, then I'm game. But if they once again attempt to make the Joker a major player then I'll be extremely disappointed.
deanb
Wow, great, looks like we get to see how The Penguin got a broken bottle bottom jammed in his eye! Just what I always wanted to know. Snap on my thinking too. I do see some issues folks have with the "how do you explain the modern looking suits when it's meant to be set some years before". I doubt they'll go with a Joker focused game again. At worst a cameo near the end/post-credits or something. But given the spread of characters already shown I think they're going to be diving into Batman's rogue gallery and giving some a dusting off. toxicitizen
I'm more interested in post-AC Hush considering how that side-quest ends. Also, yeah, don't think Joker will be a major player. They already talked about the plot a bit and it's about Black Mask calling a hit on Bats. So, it sounds like he's the main bad guy as far as I can tell. Edited April 10, 2013 by FLD
Waldorf and Statler
I feel like this basically guarantees that the next game by the AC guys will be not Batman. Maybe the Superman game they wanted to do? Then maybe a return to Batman.
Faiblesse Des Sens
God Superman sucks. They should do a Swamp Thing/Animal Man video game.
toxicitizen
Why settle for a single character? They should do a Justice League game!
TCP
God Superman sucks. They should do a Swamp Thing/Animal Man video game. THANK YOU. THANK YOU! Finally. Someone else who understands that Superman is awful. Superman 64 is the definitive Superman game because it sucks as hard as Superman does. That said, as a blind Marvel fanboy who can only tolerate the Batman-family..... if there's ever a AC sequel not featuring Batman, give us Nightwing. Thanks! Waldorf and Statler
Are you kidding? Finally someone? The sentiment that Superman is boring is quite a common one. As to "they should do this over that" let me just say that Batman games blew before AA so let's not judge if that's what they tackle
