Supposedly IGN Italy is saying Arkham Asylum + City are getting remastered? The only thing I love more than remasters of last gen games is people bitching about remasters of last gen games, so this is a pretty good morning for me.

Personally, I don't mind the remasters, it's not like they take a lot of resources to make. Plus if they help people who've missed these games, or just really like them, then that's pretty good. I would have liked Origins in this collection, I did pick up the PS3 version for 10 dollars awhile back but I never got around to playing it and at this point I think I'm done with PS3.

They're a cheap and easy way to generate revenue while they keep working on new titles, so I understand why they keep getting made. Besides, as a primarily PC gamer, they're kinda worthless to me. But I'm really not a fan of how reselling you a game has replaced backwards compatibility.

Totally.

I mean on PS4, I can kind of get it, since you can't emulate the Cell architecture. Going forward onto PS5 and whatnot it'd be nice if backwards compatibility was back. It was better last gen when they were turning SD games into HD, but it's still nice having some of these games on the platforms, especially they're higher res and faster frame rate. We just need Red Dead and Skyrim now.

I think it's because there's a misconception that we're getting remasters instead of new releases. I feel like most of the complaints are coming from folks who haven't the faintest clue about the industry and shouldn't even be commenting on it in the first place.

Like, I've seen people on NeoGAF borderline outraged that Konami gets to "keep" Metal Gear after Kojima leaves. And seriously asking if Kojima owns the Metal Gear IP. And I'm like how in the hell do you guys not understand how this shit works?!

People have legit complaints about remasters? If folks don't like 'em, they don't have to buy 'em.

Feast your eyes onto this fucking disaster. I don't understand why people get so upset. If you don't like it, don't buy it, if enough people agree with you they'll stop making them... or if they don't clearly there's a demand for this so shut up.

Ahahahahaha. Nothing is so frustrating but also simultaneously hilarious when gamers can't figure out how basic fucking business works.

I'm guessing it's meant more as a Rocksteady Collection. They never really acknowledged Origins, going so far as to refer to Arkham Knight as the conclusion of their trilogy.

Origins is in that weird spot for me where I thought it was decent but I'm mostly indifferent towards it. It didn't need to exist, and I almost kinda wish it didn't because of how it diminished my interest in the series. Kinda like Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Wait, what?! The original AvP was meh but enjoyable enough, imho. Kinda like Mortal Kombat and the first Resident Evil movie (coincidentally, all by the same director), far from great but not offensively bad or anything. But I thought AvP: Requiem was unwatchable garbage. It bored the shit out of me so much that I actually lost track of what was going on.

I was really hoping that shoehorning co-op/multiplayer into everything would die with the previous generation. Guess not.

Otherwise, still looks good aside from Robin looking like he's ripped right out of Batman Forever.

I was also thinking that Rocksteady is so obsessed with trying to trick people that Arkham Knight might actually be Bruce Wayne and theres some sort of big misunderstanding. Not Bruce Wayne being the bad guy, just making it seem that way.

Basically a ripoff of Metal Gear Solid 2.

Didn't they say a while back that there wouldn't be any kind of multiplayer? Those might just be team-up attacks with an AI partner. At least, I hope so...

Also, I still think Arkham Knight is Jason Todd. The way they tried to make it sound like him having his own story DLC somehow debunked that theory seemed so half-assed that at this point I'd be more surprised if it wasn't him.

Another interesting theory I've heard, and I guess I'll spoiler this because it's from a side-quest in Arkham City, is that

it's Hush. Last time we saw him, he had stitched himself up to look like Bruce Wayne. I'm not as convinced on this one but I'd be kinda pissed if they didn't resolve that story thread in some way, at least in another side-quests.

Jason Todd is too obvious. It would be as predictable as Joker still being alive. At this point Joker being dead would be the real surprise.

No one cares about Hush. It wouldnt surprise anyone. Maybe Hush is Batman and AK is Wayne. Thats the only way that would be interesting to the average fan of Batman.
