Hot Heart
I'm sure they've said something about that before, Ethan. I'll be damned if I can be bothered to go looking for it, but it was probably from a Eurogamer interview or hands-on or something. Something about it being a bit more open, and you get story strands you can pick up and follow.
Yantelope
They have stated that the whole world is open from the beginning because they wanted you to feel like Batman, completely free to roam the city.
TheMightyEthan
I don't mean just the world though, I mean the mission structure. It looks like hootie thinks he remembers reading that it's less linear, though, so that's good.
Hot Heart
Found what I may have been thinking of: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-01-batman-arkham-city-is-five-times-bigger Players will be able to go anywhere at any time, but we have made sure that players will always have a very clear idea of where they are needed most if they want to just stick to the core narrative path of the game. Yantelope
Sounds kind of like GTA or RDR which is just fine by me.
TheMightyEthan
Sounds kind of like GTA or RDR which is just fine by me. If the mission structure is as non-linear as those I will be fucking ecstatic.

Mr W Phallus
Line launching sounds a bit too Spiderman. I'm still a little bit sceptic about the gliding thing as well. But time will tell. Everything else sounds amazing.

SomTervo
That was totally sweet. I have so much confidence in this game. Also, on the plot, I'm totally cool with the Arkham City thing. What hasn't been explained so well is that Quincy Sharp is the overarching villain, spoiler from Arkham Asylam: if you collect all the Spirit of Arkham collectibles it gives you hints that the ultimately evil passed-down spirit of Arkham Asylum who is psychotically anti-crime, is somewhere in Arkham. That's when, if you work it out yourself as a final puzzle, Quincy Sharp plotted basically the whole thing to gain power, and is in actual fact the real villain. The easter egg secret room Hottie mentioned actually details the direct plans for Arkham City that Sharp made, and it was planted there, canonically, by Rocksteady Studios. Sharp is in cahoots with Dr Strange who runs the city. Sharp just used all of it to get to power, and cut off the part of the city to be Arkham City to be a mega-prison to hold all the worst of Gotham. Batman goes in because he hears about Two-Face's territory becoming aggravating, and to find out what the deal behind Arkham City is anyway. CorgiShinobi
I guess I'll be the one to post the Catwoman trailer. Truly this is a trailer to be appreciated by the distinguished assman. Edited June 3, 2011 by Atomsk88
Hot Heart
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2011-batman-arkham/714868 Looks so good.
deanb
The Catwoman thing was a bit meh. Is it a optional secondary campaign, or is it a case of part the story you play with Catwoman then back to Batman then to Catwoman etc.
Hot Heart
It was discussed somewhere before E3. There is a bit where you control her, but otherwise she is a 'guest' character with her own little story/side-missions. I think it looks pretty good all in all. Kovach_
Wow, that's bad. Red fist orbs are not helping one bit.
Mr W Phallus
White Batman looks weird, personally I think they went a bit overboard with the contrast (if that's what it is that makes it looks like that). It would have been much cooler if they had one of the Batman artists do an actual illustrated cover as if it were a comic.
deanb
Oh I was highlighting the "LIVE" on the banner. The cover style has been known of for a while given most media for it has had the white n black look.
Kovach_
Oh snap, i managed to miss GWFL. I guess that's how much i think the cover is bad. But yeah, fuck GWFL, i'm gonna get this for the PS3 now.

WTF
Oh here's something that you may or may not find appealing. I mean we all knew Robin was appearing in the game. But we weren't sure which Robin (considering this is still Diniverse and Dick's Nightwing in it already). It's confirmed it's definitely Tim Drake and here's the image. However it does seem like it's an exclusive preorder character for the challenge maps wjhich is a bit odd. As for the red robin costume I thought that would be obvious since Drake is currently Red Robin.
Hot Heart
Interesting! I know it was rumoured and pretty much proven, but I guess Black Mask is confirmed now too.
Mr W Phallus
Argh, I can't believe he's a pre-order bonus, especially since 'unique gadgets and special moves' implies he's not just a reskin of a different character. As for how the character looks, I'm not a huge fan of the sort of armour plating stuff on his chest and arms, although it is in line with the art style of the game. Is it just me or does the shaven head make him look kinda thuggish? I'm guessing the mostly cropped it because videogame hair doesn't tend to look all that great. And with his eyes all in shadow like that, seems a bit too moody for Robin.
