Batman Arkham Blank

@Thursday:

Nope, that one didn't even cross my mind. Nor, from readings others guesses in the spoilers anyone else's. Most folks reckon it's

Jason Todd (aka Red Hood, though he has his own DLC) or Damien (aka Bruce n Talias kid, he does call Batman "old man" on several occasions)

However (don't click as this for actual game story spoilers, though it's not a confirmation as I still don't know, this is 52% into the story):

I've just had a rather lengthy part of game that carries on popping back to segments from A Death in the Family, same way you get part of Killing Joke played out with Barbara early in the game. A Death in the Family being where Joker tortures and then kills Jason Todd. Joker in your head carries on saying he's trying to tell you something.

I see one big problem about how this game handles objectives...mainly in that it doesn't tell you where stuff is unless it's story related or Alfred helps you out.  I was doing the free-roam and driving around for over an hour, trying to find those last few checkpoints I needed to clear.  Eventually I just gave up and consulted a map.  I understand the value of letting players discover things for themselves, however...

You need 100% to see the true ending. I'm not in the mood to spend hours trying to hunt all this stuff down myself. I just want to do what I gotta do to see the end of the game.

I like the way Riddler henchmen populate the map with locations of stuff when interrogated. They could have done the same for all the other stuff. If you could interrogate thugs to get the location of secondary objectives, that would be nice, it would at least give you a way to "cheat" without resorting to faqs.

They're ridiculously easy to beat compared to the other tanks (which tend to all be targeting you at once from many directions, compared to driving behind a tank, waiting for lock, and shooting once). Considering they're made out to be quite hard. Might get rough past 70% though maybe? (though I've had 5 at once, so we might be nearing similar point)

I want to punch whoever designed those Cobra Tanks. I also want to punch the person who decided "so for this mission let's have 3 Cobra Tanks!! Now for the next.... what if... we put in 5?!" and so forth.

I want to punch whoever designed the Batmobile time trial race crap. How the fuck is it a riddle?!?

The worst thing about it is that it encourages a really lazy style of play. I remember in City I would look for gangs, plan my attack, beat them down, interrogate the riddler informant. Now, I tend to succumb to the temptation of calling in the Battank, shooting everyone bar the Riddler guy, then getting out and interrogating him. Which is easier, but way more boring.

It's not so much that they're difficult, I just find the more Cobra Tanks, the more tedious and time consuming it gets, and generally not fun.

Welcome to Open World games I guess. Very few fail to not fall into the trap of "make minigame, do it again, do it bigger, do it more". Hence why most folks have usually cited Aslyum as the best of the series, the linear route through the game makes it quite a bit "tighter" n allows for more bespoke traversal and ways of designing levels compared to one size fits all of a city. (apart from the Titan fights)

Mans with riot shields. How does one beat them?

Assuming PS4:  :PSsquare:  :PSsquare:  :PSX:

Which should batcape twice to stun, same as the big fellas, then :PSX: to jump and stomp on him.

XBOX is BBA

So I just started playing this today, game says I'm 4% complete (WOO!), and I think I'm starting to agree with the people who think Asylum was the best of the series.  Sure the combat and traversal has been refined since then, but the overall structure of Asylum was just so tight and focused compared to the sequels.

I'm about 54% through the main story, but total progress is something like 35%.

I'm leaning towards Arkham City being my favorite, but Arkham Knight has it special moments that I guarantee will make it memorable.

MASSIVE SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T BEGUN:

Pretty much whenever Joker shows up, it's always entertaining. I even had the Joker jump scare like with Man-Bat's jump scare. The subtle changes you can catch where Joker's face appears on statues, and the billboards changing to a Joker theme.

I've gotten use to the Batmobile controls, but it's just so prevalent in the gameplay. Sure Gotham is a big place, but did Riddler's puzzle have to incorporate it so much? I get having puzzle based races, but the pure time trial stuff is out of place. So unfortunately I've been ignoring most of Riddler's riddles. However, Riddler has access to Gotham's communication network, so he'll go on about how I've been ignoring his riddles. I was at the Clock Tower during the story and after I got my new objective, Riddler gets on the mic nagging me about how there's still 90% of his riddles left.

Honestly, just flying around in a big open area like Arkham City was what I liked. Considering most of your side missions have to be discovered most of the time (you'll get intel eventually), you're more likely to find the next part if you're flying around rather than driving like a madman in the Batmobile. There are a few that benefit from driving around, but that's it.
