Batman Arkham Blank

I'm at the point where I have to collect 140 remaining Riddler trophies. I remember not minding these back in Asylum and mostly City, but some of these trophies are a pain in the ass. Not that they're difficult, but sometimes scanning doesn't work or you have to find the small opening in a building to get the trophy in the middle of it.

I've got about 17 left. For me it's just that they are soooooooo numerous. They could have junked all of the trophies that are just left out in the open, and not had the random things that you have to destroy (for some reason) and the whole thing would have been a lot more palatable. (IMO).

I really liked them in Asylum and City because they weren't too numerous and every single one had some sort of unique method of solving them, but the fact they're still repeating basic stuff like "stand on the thing and throw three batarangs simultaneously" is a touch dumb.

I do enjoy them though. And the people saying the control towers stuff is like FarCry seem to be ignoring how much fun it is to "solve" them.

I have 47 trophies left, so I definitely had an overdose of it last night. The scanning is still troublesome for some of the riddles because if it isn't Obstructed, then it's Too Small. Had to scan the Vicki Vale billboard seven times before it took, and for whatever reason, well, spoiler...

Poison Ivy's remains, a.k.a. the plant, took me three tries before it took too.

Heck, getting Cash's hook hand was a pain because I couldn't figure out what angle wouldn't give me an error message.

Like unless you're an achievement whore/masochist I'd suggest just not doing all the Riddler shit, just get the bog standard 10 villains ending, and then watching the 100% ending online cos it doesn't add vastly much beyond a few extra minutes.

I managed to get Cash's hand easy. One of the few I've done.

But... I AM BATMAN!

Nah, honestly I want to complete the Most Wanted and put Riddler in his place.

Also, I can't activate the Incomplete Knightfall Protocol. Example below:

EDIT: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/3bgtjp/psa_batman_arkham_knight_game_breaking_bug_leave/

Heck, I have the Deacon Blackfire bug where if you land on the Lady Gotham island, Deacon Blackfire and Jack Ryder are still in the cage. Nothing big, until you try to fly to the other islands and the game doesn't load in the actual models.

Thus Batman falls into the white abyss that exists under Gotham.

It is done.

My last Riddle was the one on Simon Stag's ship where you have to hit the fifth question mark. That wasn't apparent as typically the goal is to hit all the question marks. Had to look it up, not afraid to admit. Gotta say, my second to last which I thought was neat was the one that falls out of the airship and ends up on shore.

Oh Joker, locked away in my head, only you know the agony of having to do all of Riddler's crap.

Only question I have, do we ever learn what exactly is going on with Scarecrow's face? Like, is it just a realistic torn up mask, so did he go insane and do some wacky surgery?

Yeah, I heard them talk about it, but not even they were sure. I forgot about Scarecrow going down into the sewers and almost being eaten by Killer Croc in Asylum.

Now I'm ready for Batgirl, because as I've said before, hell if I'm going to do all the AR Challenges. Not to mention, I haven't unlocked them all because I can't figure out Critical Hits on tanks.

I decided to have some pretty long sessions to work through the story some more.

So, with the Arkham Knight's identity...

...it was as obvious as it being Jason Todd even before the Panessa Studios bit. Disappointing. <_<

I find myself vacillating with regards to the Batmobile stuff. Once you get a bunch of upgrades, it gets more manageable (I think I did the hardest battle side-mission a little prematurely but survived. Just) and I quite enjoy racing about the place sometimes, but there are also a lot of annoyances.

Like, that whole Cloudburst tank sequence was just draining. Starts you off facing a bloody Cobra tank already, so then you have to race all over the place just to get some breathing room, then you've got to take out 7 of the bloody things while the big killer guy is around. There was actually this amazing moment where I was sneaking right up on one and the comm chatter went "No sign of him anywhere. Commencing an orbital sweep" which is basically THE GODDAMN THING'S GONNA DO A FULL 360 DEGREE LOOKIELOO so I backed off and found a nearby pillar that offered just enough cover.

Then when you've taken down all the cobras, you have to hit-and-run the guy three times, trying to survive while he chases you and chucks everything he has at you. Then if that hasn't shredded your nerves, you have to fight him head-on while missiles are being thrown at you (easiest bit though). I dread to think where it would've restarted me if I'd have failed at any point

Anyway, I've just done the bit with Gordon, Barbara and Scarecrow and even though it was totally predictable, I was ready to shout "Yeah!" when Batman grabs her while she's falling. :P

Other than those bits, though, I've still really been enjoying it and it's as impeccably paced as ever. I'm just dreading trying to do all these Azrael challenges, if I have to win without being hit. I've never mastered blade dodge takedowns...

Posted from mobile. Whoops. Ending and side quest spoilers...

Thought the ending was a bit ambiguous. Obviously Bruce and Alfred survive. Presumably Nightwing went back to Bludhaven so either Azreal (assuming you reformed him) or Red Hood (or both) have taken over Bat-duties. I'm thinking Red Hood as Batman refers to Gotham needing "something worse" and given Red Hoods willingness to kill he qualifies as worse.

I wish that you could have called in support from friends while in the field instead of the Batmobile. It would have been nice to be having a tear up and the be able to call in Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin or Azreal.

Oh, man, there's nothing quite like executing the perfect assault on a militia checkpoint.

You find a good vantage point, you take note of the two sentry cannon and the five armed guys. The plan has already formed. You use the first disruptor charge to sabotage one of the sentry guns, then you neutralise the weapons of the three guys farthest away. You get into position and blind the other sentry gun with a hacking device before lining up a glide attack on one of the guys with an active gun.

As you soar towards your target, you knock down the other live gunner with a batarang. The first guy goes down in one while the sentry gun attempts to shoot you and instead explodes. The other guys are too busy trying to figure out why their guns won't fire as you finish off the second guy, who's still reeling from the projectile. By the time the remaining three decide to engage in fisticuffs, it's already too late.

That done, you crush the commander's controls and call in the batmobile to take out the remaining drone gun.

God, I love this game.

As much as I complain about certain things in the game, I still like it. Just, there's too much Batmobile.

I got around to playing the Scarecrow Nightmare AR Challenges, and guess what... It's Batmobile time trial with racing and tank battles. Sure, you get to shoot at a large Scarecrow, but that's about it. There's not really a strategy other than gain enough charge for multiple missiles and avoid damage (obviously).

I've spent my last few gaming sessions doing nothing but collecting Riddler trophies. Bloody hell. It's sort of fun. Had one glitch out though, that was really scary (in a completionist sort of way). One of those awful ones when you have to follow question marks around the city in the batmobile. Those are really badly designed. Luckily it unglitched itself and just counted as complete even though I didn't finish it.

Did you guys know the game keeps 2-3 backup saves for every save slot you have, so you can roll back to a slightly earlier state in case anything gets glitched? Why doesn't every game have that.
